"Helen contacted me the same day I posted this job on Angi. Her estimate was aligned with few others that I received. They were available within my timelines and did a good job with removing the tree/stump. However, one of the sprinkler lines was cut and big stones around the tree were not put back in place, as agreed upon. It took more than a week for Helen to send the crew back to move stones back in place (at extra cost to also remove wood chips from stump grinding, which was not included in the original fee). I recommend specifying all details around the job (based on tree location and extra work around its removal) and confirming everything is done as agreed upon before final payment is made."

"They were very professional and efficient. It was a large lot around a house with lots of tree and shrub stumps. It was done quickly, they cleaned up and were on their way. I received an email later with an invoice and a link to pay online! Very easy and convenient!"

"Had some plumbing issues from my dishwasher to my sink and he came out quickly and got it fixed up quickly. He did some double checking in other lines to make sure it wasn't anything else and only charged me minimum. Great price and great work!!"

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.
