"For the past several years my driveway has been destroyed by the roots of a 50 ft. tall pine tree which had broken through the existing concrete, resulting in large chunks, making it an uneven and unsafe surface. For this project I needed some serious excavation to not only remove the pieces of concrete, but also dig out the very large pine tree roots. Tresemer Concrete & Excavating came to the rescue, completing my 100 ft. long driveway in only one day. I was absolutely so impressed with their work. "This is a new company. They are younger, but very hard workers. They worked in the very hottest of weather and didnt stop. If you arent happy with a detail, let them know, they will fix it to your liking. Nick, James and Marquis are very hard workers. They beat everyone else's quotes. Let them know what the quotes are and see if they can beat it. Very happy with their work."

Small jobs welcome

"Oh my goodness, top notch people and fantastic work! I honestly cannot praise them enough. We had an asphalt driveway that needed to be ripped out and new asphalt laid down. We also needing some grading of our driveway done after having our new garage put in two years ago. To their surprise and ours, we had a foot or more of asphalt that was uncovered. They ripped it all out, leveled out the area, and put in quite a bit of crushed gravel for a solid underlayment for the asphalt. After getting it all smoothed out and ready for asphalt, I saw them digging again. Turns out we had some soft spots, so they dug down in those areas removing more soil, and put down more crushed gravel, smoothing it all out for a second time. Lovell clearly takes pride in their work and does it right. The next day they put a nice thick layer of asphalt down in our driveway which we had marked out together with spray paint. (I plan on edging the asphalt in brick, so I wanted a curve here and there.) Lovell also repaved over our long easement. We now have roughly 7500 square feet of beautiful new asphalt. I wish I could post pictures, it looks so good! Wonderful wonderful people and outstanding quality work."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can remove oil stains from your driveway by applying an absorbent material such as baking soda, sawdust, or cat litter, pouring on a liquid detergent such as dish soap, scrubbing the area, and rinsing with water. You can also use a diluted bleach solution, white vinegar, or TSP solution on concrete.

You should never use bleach in a pressure washer. While bleach is effective at killing mold and mildew, it is a potent chemical that can corrode the machine's seals and nozzles, destroying it from the inside out. Additionally, pressure washing with bleach sprays the chemical into the air, which is dangerous if inhaled and can kill nearby plants, flowers, or harm animals that ingest it. If you need to remove mold or mildew, it is best to hire a professional who will use a safe and effective cleaning agent.

If you’re using water pressure above 2,000 PSI, you should wear a full face shield—at 4,000 PSI, a water jet can easily slice through skin. Always wear heavy-duty, waterproof gloves and rubber boots with metatarsal guards. If you’re working with hot water, make sure your gloves are insulated.

Decks, driveways, siding, and patios are common areas that see improved appearance.

You should wait until your pavers have completely dried and cured before pressure washing them. Wait at least three to five days, though some sealants may need up to an entire week. Rushing that timeline can mess with the finish, weaken the seal, or leave streaks that are tough to fix. Once the sealant has fully set, stick to a gentle approach. Keep the pressure under 1,500 PSI and hold the nozzle at least two feet from the surface. Anything stronger or closer can blast the joint sand loose or wear down the sealant you just applied.
