They were admirably early - when I arrived seven minutes prior to the agreed upon start time of 1PM, the truck was parked in front of my dad's house. They had the right equipment - the truck had a lift - and that's good because the tub is very heavy; I wouldn't have wanted any of them to be hurt in the process of moving it. They were very quick to move the tub to the truck, they arrived at my house before I did, and they cheerfully rolled the tub into the backyard for me. The whole thing took less than a half hour.
I would happily use them again.
Great bunch (6) of workers. All very efficient and courteous.
Only complaint has to do with price/billing. Am in the process of following up on this, but here in a nutshell.
To work with the customer, Liberty Bell sets up a personal internet "portal" in your name. This was done for us on or about August 5, 2014. At that time the portal advised that, based on inventory, weight, etc. we would be charged about $3,700. (The exact figure I do not have available at the moment). The portal contained a link to click on to accept and authorize this deal. You are then told there must be a down payment of (what works out to be) 30%. We used PayPal to make this approx. $1,100 payment.
On September 5, the date of our move, I was present in Yarmouth as their trucks (2) pulled out, while my daughter Julie was present in Windham to supervise the unloading, etc. and of course to pay the balance of our contract--which she did.
When I next saw Julie (the following day) it turned up that the balance she had paid worked out not to $3,700, but to about $4,800. (Again, my figures here are from memory and not exact.) So I logged back on to our "portal" to verify our original deal. But, lo and behold, there the "estimate" for our move was shown as $4,800.
Julie then told me that they had presented no invoice or statement showing or explaining the difference between what we had "accepted" on August 5, and what we were finally charged. The person requesting payment instead referred to his IPAD (or something like it) to let her see the balance owed--which, as I have said, represented a contract price of about $4,800.
I have been tied up with a number of things that have kept me from following this up, but I do think there are legitimate reasons why this happened as it did. The basic issue here would be that whoever put together the original "estimate" failed to take account of the time factor (a full day versus a half day) or, perhaps, the (lack) of easy access at the destination.
I am confident that I will find justifiable reasons for the disparity, but at the same time knew you would "want all the details."
Liberty Bell Movers were timely efficient and professional, handling the twists and turns of a antiquated staircase and elevator with skill and ease. I strongly recommend you use them for your next move.
The people in the office were extremely pleasant to deal with also. Check out their website. That is how we chose them, and it was the right choice!
Liberty Bell Movers were responsive to our needs from the first. We had a short timeline and we wanted assurances that they would be there to load the trucks at the scheduled time since my husband was taking off work and flying up to help with the move.
Not only was Liberty Bell on time, they were 15 minutes early! They worked efficiently, clearing the apartment in about two hours. They arrived at our Bucks County home within the promised time-frame, no easy feat considering Northeast Corridor traffic. Before they took anything in the house they padded the door frame and covered the stairs . The movers were professional, courteous, and accommodating. They never stopped and it was clear they wanted to get things right.
The price for this move was fair and the service was outstanding. I would encourage anyone moving anything in Maine to contact this company. We spoke to at least five companies before deciding on Liberty Bell; we are grateful for their honesty and hard work.
We would highly recommend this company for small or big jobs. They know what they are doing, no one smokes anywhere near the job or house, and all the people we met were interesting to talk with as well as being proficient at what they do. Additionally, they are friendly and helpful over the phone and are quick to return calls. We have moved several times, twice overseas, and this company has been one of the easiest and most helpful to work with along with being very competitively priced.
