Fix-It Man

About us

Fix-It Man is RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) Certified by EPA as well as Maine Weatherization tech certified. The owner, Vincent Veligor is also a Licensed Construction Superintendent. After contacting us, we’ll set up a “meet and greet” to get acquainted and review the project and provide an estimate of the time or cost. For bigger projects, we ask that you sign a contract and in some cases where there are significant material costs or special order items, we require an up-front payment. For longer projects we may do interim invoicing; otherwise we bill for the project when it is complete and we request that you pay us upon receipt of the invoice.

Vincent is amazing. He gave me two quotes, I selected one, and he scheduled the work date. He came on the work date and did a flawless job. And the invoiced amount was less than the quote. I'm sure that this doesn't happen every day and you would not want to count on it, but I was willing to pay the quoted amount. And yet, I was charged based on actual time and materials which I guess worked out to be less. Vincent's integrity is exemplary and rare in this business! I recommend Vincent without reservation -- he's multi skilled and does a great job! I'd hire him again in a minute!

Vincent showed up right on time, and when I said they were both small problems, he said, "nothing is too small" -- an attitude which I love. So many times we have called in contractors who think the job is too small and don't want it. This is the second year in a row I've had Vincent to my house for repairs, and I'm amazed he can do so many different things.
He has a ton of tools and parts, and was able to go into his truck and find the right equipment for our job without going out and extending the engagement.
I had another project that involved painting and he recommended that I use my regular painter as it would cost me less.
He's competent, knowledgeable and an excellent diagnostician of household repairs. Everything he did last year is still fixed, and I expect this year's "fixes" to be the same.
The best news? He charged me for a half hour! No "minimum service call" charge, not even minimum one hour, which I feel it should have been as he came to the house. But he said his policy was actual time worked, and that's what he charged.
I was a very happy customer!

I had Vincent out to lift a sagging bay window. He recommended that he use a jack to lift it up (about .25-.5and quot;) and use shims to prop it up. He also went over some more in depth options if this did not solve my problem. He estimated it would take about 2 hours ($150). The job was not an emergency (we spoke in early summer and said we just needed it done and quot;before falland quot;). We discussed it being completed in a month or two. It took a little nudge to get it scheduled, but again, we expressed low priority and we discussed this just before he was on vacation for some time. When we chatted again, he came quickly, did a great job (in less time and for less money than estimated), and followed up to make sure it worked for us right away.
I'd definitely hire him again - it's challenging to find quality help with small jobs like these, but that's usually what I need. Recommended.

The work was top quality, done as promised, clean afterwards -- perfect in every way! Once we got the quote and gave him the go-ahead, the work was scheduled promptly. On the day the work was to be done, he called me at 11 AM as promised so I could get to my house from work. When I got home, the work was complete, and everything was in great shape!
I would highly recommend Vincent and I would use him again without hesitation!

Overall, it went very well. From the initial contact Vincent was very prompt and he came over to the house to take pictures of all of the areas that needed work, so there would be no question as to scope. I thought this was a great idea and showed how professional this business is. He provided an estimate on time and materials and started the work as promised, right on schedule. HE and his son did a great job and treated me very fairly as to price. Very satisfied with the whole experience and I would highly recommend the Fix-It Man to do home repair.

It went very well. Fit-It Man and his son came over and completed the work in a day and a half. Most of the work involved replacing portions of the deck and some of the balusters. They were both very knowledgeable about all the different kinds of work that was done and had no trouble doing it. They were also very friendly and trustworthy. I will definitely use them again!

He comes all the time. He has done all kinds of things. He does small jobs. What I like about him is that he is very cost-conscious. He comes exactly when he says he's going to come. He does exactly what he says he's going to do. He never overcharges. He cleans up after himself, and he often comes up with a cheaper solution than other handymen. He is very, very skilled in every regard. He isn't a plumber or electrician, but he certainly knows about those things. He has fixed all kinds of stuff. This is a 110-year-old house. When things go wrong, I call him up and ask what I should do. If he can't do it, he recommends somebody. He is just superb. He has done a great deal of work for my next-door neighbor at my recommendation.

;and came in on budgetVincent Verigor came promptly, when he said he would, for initial inspection. His estimate was clear and detailed. He obviously knows materials, and made useful suggestions. He and his son came to do the work when they said they would, and did the work straight thru, allowing for paint-drying times.
I rate him as highly professional: knew what he was doing; did it well and on time; and came in on budget. Price was reasonable.
I highly recommend him to anyone.
We are using him again this Spring for some additional carpentry work.

There were a few cracks which had to be repaired in one case. He knew how to do the work and he did it. He filled some gaps for us. He came out promptly. He gave us the estimate exactly when he said he would. The estimate was excellent. We were impressed by his professionalism. He did a high standard job and cleaned up after he left. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. We would certainly use him again. I would highly recommend him.

The overall experience for both jobs was great! Vinnie is very fair in his pricing and very honest when giving advice as to what needs to be done to fix the problem. When he fixed my steps he was honest and told me both the less expensive and expensive way and let me choose which way I wanted to go. When I went for the less expensive direction he explained in detail the steps he would take to fix it and never pressured me into something else. The first job he was there on time and finished in the time he quoted and did an excellent job. The second job he didn't come when he said and when I called him he was very apologetic and explained whe he didn't make it. He came again and fixed the steps when he said he would. I'd hire Vinnie again and have told my friends to call him when they need a good and honest worker.

He is very experienced, has ALL the tools necessary in his truck, comes exactly when he says he will come, phones ahead, and works closely with the homeowner to be sure that he is doing exactly what you want done.
