When I told him that I wanted to instead use white PVC because it would not crush, he pointed out that it would cost more and he didn't think it was worth the extra money, but if that's what I wanted he would modify the estimate, which he did. I had two other estimates from other well-known companies, which had slightly different approaches that cost more money. After thinking about what I should do (and soliciting opinions from friends) for a year, I chose NV. They saved money by having the pipe drain to a flower bed in the side yard, instead of digging all the way to the street, which would have ruined some of my trees and shrubs. The crew did a beautiful job - the back patio with the French drain around the perimeter looks great. We've had a few storms, although nothing horrendous, and so far so good with the drainage."

"It took 8 hours and of course, he charges by the hour. He even expected me to pay for the 1/2 hr lunch break the guys took. The workers cleaned but still left some paint drippings and unfinished caulking. The owner and one worker came back to cleanup paint spots that could be cleaned and finish the caulking. Also, to repair a towel rod that was partially ripped from the wall by one of the workers. The owner did not give me a receipt when I requested one. I don't believe they are bonded and licensed."
