Juan and his team did a phenomenal job on fixing our concrete landing going to the front door. It had pulled away from the house and was sloped very steep without any steps on it. He was communicative and efficient and always on time. Something else I really appreciate is they didn’t leave trash behind. Melendez Renovations, LLC installed a new concrete driveway for us. The old driveway was broken by some tree roots. Their work quality is good, the price is pretty reasonable and the communication with Juan was smooth! We highly recommend him.

We have a brick paved walkway from our driveway to bricked front steps. A couple of cracks had developed where old tree roots had decayed and the walkway had sunk. We were impressed with Juan's description of how he and his team would repair and restore the walkway. His team removed, cleaned and salvaged most of the old bricks to reuse in the repair. The project was to repair half of the walkway and the stairs to the front door and by the time they were done you cannot tell what was disturbed and what was not. It all looks brand new. The team was hard working, working until well after dark on a couple of days, and very professional. We already have a couple of other projects in mind and will by hiring Melendez Renovations for the work.

My wife and I hired Juan and his team first in late summer 2023 to remove our concrete driveway and replace with a permeable paver driveway. I was working away from home for the majority of the job, and Juan's communication and work were impeccable. There were multiple requirements from the manufacturer to properly install the permeable pavers, and Juan was very easy to work with to ensure that the process was handled to manufacturer's spec, which was slightly different than a normal paver installation. After the beautiful work on the driveway, my wife and I knew we would hire Juan and his team to handle a major indoor renovation, which included demolishing bad work in an old, partially finished attic and rebuild completely, fix some flooring in the basement, build a closet in our master bedroom, replace the cabinet doors in our bathroom, refinish the 110 yr old wood floors, paint the whole house and add crown molding, and replace 13 windows in the house. This project took about 3 months to finish, while my family were not living in the house, so it was a very big job! First of all, ALL of Juan's guys are absolutely wonderful people. Without question, the absolute nicest contractors we've ever hired - and, we've done over $300K of work on this house in 20 years. Also, they all CARE GREATLY about their work. We let Juan know early that it was our primary concern to have the finished product look as good as possible. His main carpenter, Tulio, is very skilled at working wood. He is creative in solving problems, and after a number of ideas were discussed for the bedroom closet (and more than one attempted), he came up with a very straight-forward and attractive solution to a problem getting what we wanted into the space. Finally, the work was beautifully done. Our house has a beautiful new coat of paint, beautiful windows, an absolutely beautifully finished attic with a custom welded handrail and surround of the stairs (and a separate HVAC unit), all new interior doors and a lot more. There were a number of complications that we presented to Juan's team, and they handled them all with a positive attitude and acheived the results we wanted. Even though we knew the job would be big, we didn't realize until much later in the process how much easier it would be if we emptied the house. Juan's team carefully moved our furniture and artwork over and over again when they needed access to an area. In the end, I can not speak highly enough aobut Juan Melendez and his team for both interior and exterior work. I had a pretty solid plan as to what I wanted done for the job, but also gave Juan the freedom to make some adjustments if he thought there was a better method, finish, or product. He consistently came through in his suggestions. These guys really care about the work they do, and I can not recommend them enough if you are considering concrete, stone, or any interior work. I have absolutely no affiliation with Melendez Renovations - I am a musician. Juan and his team completed a 10 x 20 foot patio for me and removed a 20 by 20 concrete pad and replaced with a 25 by 30 foot pad to be used as a basketball court. Superb workmanship, leveled off nicely and completed under harsh heat conditions. His team removed all of the old pad and cleaned up everything before departing. He did great quality work, exceeding my expectations under difficult 90 degree temperatures. You can't go wrong using Juan for any concrete work!

Outstanding Quality and Workmanship

Melendez Renovations, LLC is operated by Juan Melendez. I have owned my home for over 18 years, and have done a lot of work on it - from smaller jobs, to full underpinning and finishing basement, full kitchen gut and redo, full bathroom gut and redo. Overall, Juan was the best contractor I have hired in 18 years of working on this home. He was polite, punctual, his work was absolutely excellent, and his price was fair considering the scope of work. He removed my concrete driveway and replaced it with a permeable paver driveway that qualified for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's rebate program. My neighbors on both sides and in front of my home all commented on how great his crew was, how polite they were, and how great the driveway lookd. I HIGHLY recommend Melendez Renovations, LLC!

I was impressed by the attention to detail and overall quality of the work.

Our HOA hired Juan Melendez to complete a sidewalk revitalization/maintenance project. The scope of work was to demo and reinstall 80 (4'x4') sidewalk (21 cubic yards of concrete) pad due to existing cracks and tree roots that have raised sidewalk pads. We also added 5 handicap ramp replacements due to cracks. This project was located in a 175 unit townhome community, and all the sidewalk pads were scattered in different parts of the community. There was also a large portion of the work that was on a busy public walkway along Americana Dr. Juan told us it would take one week to complete the project, and that he would work everyday with his crews. He let us know that he would always have a foreman on site if he wasn't present. His team tackled the project in sections, always protecting the area after demoing a section of concrete. There scope also included using wire mesh and plastic barrier, for community sidewalk this is not common and requires someone who wants to install quality to even offer it as an option let alone do it. They would pour concrete the next day after demo to reopen the sidewalks quickly. All the demoed concrete was neatly taken to our pool service road which hosted his dumpster. No concrete debris were ever found, not a single complaint about noise, leaving a location messy, or being rude was ever received by our HOA Board. The project was completed within 6 days, one day earlier then we anticipated. All of Juans crews were friendly and reflected the same feeling I received when engaging with Juan, thoughtful, willing to do more without complaint, wanting to install the best product possible. The project was a big success for our community. I know several people in the community used him after the project was completed and they were very satisfied, I even watched him forming one of those peoples concrete patios using a laser for precision. If you are looking for a person who loves what they do with concrete and pavers, then you wont be surprised when you receive a high quality performance from his company.
