When I called for an appointment on Tuesday, I indicated that I did not know how much we would be doing since we had several things that needed to be done. It was no problem, Kristen would send out someone THE SAME DAY to give me an estimate! Matt began with a quick visual overview of our electrical system, explaining all the variations and what would be needed to complete the projects. It turns out that all of the projects are pre-priced with a discount if you have your own materials (which we did for two projects) and they happily take off the Angie s List coupon. So, after a price was set, Matt began the work with the bathroom recessed light fixture and the floods over the garage. He had both fixtures in his van! He also explained what the humming box in the attic was and removed it - the doorbell transformer. Since it close to 5, Matt said he would be back on Thursday to complete the projects, which was fine with me! When he came back, he brought a helper, Charlie, and they installed the attic fan, set up for installing the outdoor light, installed the freezer plug and fixed the ceiling fan by adding a new box to hang it from. Again, he had all the parts in his van! The concrete for the lamp post wasn t setting as fast as he wanted so he apologized and said he could come back on Friday but I told him to wait until Monday. On Monday he was here and he assembled and installed the lamppost that I had purchased! We talked a bit about Angie s List and how great his company was - one neat thing is that they provide all the light bulbs for the fixtures they install or repair! Finally, I want to commend Hawkins on sending out personable, knowledgeable technicians Matt answered several electrical questions unrelated to my projects without hesitation. They truly deserve their great rating!

They were very professional in giving an estimate. It took the amount of time that they said it would. They gave sufficient notice when they had to reschedule. I thought they were a little costlier than others but I needed to make sure it was done properly.

They did some wiring and they also installed the fixtures. They had to come back the next day because something wasn't working right, but they fixed it.

This was a very good experience. Hawkins was up front about all expenses from the first call, including a mandatory $59 transportation fee (charged to everyone). However, I was also informed about coupons listed on the company's website which amounted to $75 off, in my case. Matt and his apprentice, Charlie were both very courteous and professional and presented me with a total cost up front (not an estimate, what the actual cost would be). I was free to decline, but would have still had to pay the $59 fee. All their charges are listed in a book and it's clear that they charge the same for all services regardless of patron or location. The prices seem a bit high (don't they all), but there are no surprises, no price hikes over the estimate and no worries about the clock ticking. The work done was very professional and unhurried. In addition, they attempted to install my new range hood, but were unable to due to a miscalculation. I was not charged for this, though they spent a fair amount of time working on it. They may be somewhat pricier than some companies, but they are honest, up-front and methodical in their work. The call center was well staffed, they answered the phone right away both times I called and scheduled a full day's work the very next day. Overall, I would strongly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.

We used some of their coupons and received a senior citizen discount. They were very good. The day we called them, was short notice, they gave us an appointment time and came 45 minutes early! They came very promptly and worked very efficiently. They didn't charge me for a travel fee the first time they came out either. It was a great deal of integrity on their part because I wouldn't have known otherwise. They cleaned up after themselves. There were 2 different service people, but they were great.

The electrician arrived on time and quickly removed the old fan motor and thermostat. He didn't have a matching motor in stock as the model was unusual, but his manager was able to locate one nearby. He said that this fan motor would be more expensive than the original estimate, and I agreed to cover an additional charge $50 charge (as the alternative was to replace the entire assembly, a more expensive option). He went away and came back in an hour with fan in tow, and did the replacement and cleaned up.

It went great; much better than I could have ever expected! The electrician arrived when he said he would, he was very courteous and listened to all my concerns. He wore booties on his shoes when he was in the house and always moved my furniture very carefully. He was clear about the costs at the beginning and always explained the reason for the problem once it was fixed. I was VERY impressed with his service and will always use this company in the future.

I called the company to replace a tennis court light fixture and service our backup generator. An estimator came promptly and promised a written estimate. Three weeks later I had not heard anything, so I called. Two more calls produced another estimator. This one was an electrician who did the work noted above, but knew nothing about what was needed to replace the tennis court light. He eventually decided that the fixture would have to be ordered, which would take two weeks. He next sheepishly admitted that they would not service the generator, even though the first man had assured me that they would. It has been several weeks since the electrician was here and I have heard nothing about the ordered tennis court light.

After a bad storm on Wednesday, June 4th, we realized that none of the GFCI outlets in our 3 bathrooms were working. When I called to make an appointment (after seeing their advertisement in the Angie's List magazine), I was greeted promptly & professionally. The young lady even had me double-check that re-setting attempts had been made on all the outlets so that we would not have to pay for them to come out for no reason. We had to wait a few days due to the volume of electrical problems in the area caused by the storm but that was understandable since our problem was only one of minor inconvenience. I received a call from the office the morning of the scheduled appointment to say they had a cancellation and could they come a little early. I was happy that they could come sooner. The young many who arrived, Justin Marshall, was very professional. He used those shoe covers each time he had to come back in the house. He checked all the outlets with the problems and then gave me an estimate. He was able to quickly troubleshoot the problem then re-checked all the outlets. He wrote up my bill and explained their guarantee and was on his way in less than an hour.

It took him a long time to fix the light that was dangling. He came in late and then tried to rush through everything. I did get a discount for being an Angie's List member, but the price was still higher than I'd like. I wouldn't have him back.

Very well. Highly professional attitude, and seemed very knowledgeable. Have a good customer retention/reward program for referrals. Worked very methodically. Rates seem reasonable/on par for time spent from what others were offering.

The electrician showed up towards the end of his allotted time frame, but still on time. He was the epitome of professionalism and courtesy, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and more than willing to let me follow him around and learn what he was doing where. He did excellent quality work efficiently and was a great teacher at the same time. He showed me several things that should be done eventually, but needn't be done right away. Hawkins uses a price breakdown per project, so its all laid out in front of you before any work is done. This is very helpful. The only down side is that they do charge you just to show up (I presume to offset the cost of driving a truck full of gear and parts around) and their prices did seem a bit high. Still, the work was excellent, and a very very good experience!
