My husband is a do-it-yourselfer, but came across some electrical work that looked suspicious and he wanted a professional opinion. Contacted J&G to see if I could use one of their coupons for a home evaluation to have them come out and just look at my husband's concerns and let him know how big of deal they were. Eric called back and said we could just have them come to provide an estimate for a service charge that was half the price of the coupon. YAY! He was super polite and was the most enthusiastic contractor we've come across. He came out, walked through the house with my husband, answered all of his concerns, didn't try to convince us to do any work that wasn't necessary and provided a reasonable estimate for the work that is beyond the scope of my husband's skill level.

Eric showed up exactly at the agreed upon time and he was even nice enough to show up early in the morning (7:30am) to ensure I had the rest of the day free. He was extremely friendly and professional. Originally based on what I had described over the phone, it sounded like the transformers in my light fixtures had expired and so he had come to check them and replace them, but as it turns out I had simply purchased the wrong light bulbs for the fixture. He replaced all the bulbs, showed me exactly which ones were needed and didn't even charge for them. He did have to charge me for the visit which is understandable since he came into the city from Gaithersburg by 7:30am, but he said I could give him a call anytime if I had quick questions about the right stuff to buy, etc, which I felt was a very nice personal touch. I would absolutely hire Eric again for any electrical jobs and very highly recommend him to anyone.

He worked efficiently and did a fabulous job. I'm extremely pleased with his outlet repair work. I asked for estimates for additional work and he was able to provide an estimate on all the work right on the spot! Eric arrived on time and was extremely professional and personable. During the job, I realized that I didn't have as many lights as I was going to want, so I had to run to Home Depot mid-job -- this of course took forever, and Eric ended up staying at least an hour past the 2-hour timeframe (this job was part of an Angie's List deal for 2-hours for $119) that was included in the coupon. He didn't seem to mind a bit and didn't charge me extra for the extra time he was forced to wait. As to the job itself, it's been a couple of months and everything works beautifully. In addtion, Eric's placement of the track lights (Eric installed eight lights) has been perfect -- looks great and is completely functional, haven't had to tweak a thing. Again, this job also involved removing an old ceiling fan and pull chain light (and installing a dimmer switch) from a 1920's era kitchen with plaster walls/ceiling. I know jobs on these older places aren't always easy (and plaster can be messy) but again Eric was quick and efficent and I didn't notcie a spec of plaster anywhere after he'd left. Would highly recommend!

Eric is great! He was very responsive and thorough and obviously loves what he does. He was punctual and efficient and has a great attitude. His pricing is very clear (per type of job) and there were no surprises. We will be using him again when we're ready to install our ceiling fans.

We needed to replace a broken washer and install a 220 line for a dryer. I needed someone to come out quickly and Eric responded within hours of my email query. He adjusted his schedule to come out and provide me with an estimate on this and other needs I have around the house. Eric was courteous, professional, organized, and gave great advice throughout the visit. He even did a "quick fix" on a flickering light. He is going to be our go to electrician for the foreseeable future.

Eric arrived punctually, was enthusiastic, professional and detailed in his review of my project. I have an older home in DC that has at least 3 sets of electrical renovations since it was built pre-electric. Eric was able to sort out the issues and while I wouldn't have been surprised to get a big quote for a lot of work to fix problems he pointed out some straight forward issues and quoted what I think is very reasonable. I am looking forward to working with him on the job.

In the beginning-I called the company and explained the electrical problems and the desire to install an automatic dusk-to-dawn light control on the front porch light and the other things in the list above. Eric told me exactly what to purchase and also was able to fit me in quickly into their schedule. They explained and answered all questions with patience. The company worked all day in order to complete the job and also provided time in the middle of the day for me to get extra supplies. They also enough materials on their truck to replace unforeseen additional replacements. At first I was only going to replace the outlets since so many of them were half working, but the new outlets and covers made such a difference that I asked if they could add on new light switches/covers. This small detail made, this new to me home, look ten times better. The prior plates I tried to clean but the former owners had painted over them and even after cleaning them, they seemed grimey. Even though their schedule was busy they were willing to add on this extra work. Every aspect of the business and personal interaction with this company was exemplary! They did not miss a beat.

Eric called as promised, and came out early the next morning. He replaced a bad dimmer switch. Friendly and fast!

The lighting in my basement needed a major overhaul. When I called J&G Electric for the appointment, I spoke with Eric and he broke down the price for each service so I knew in advance how much the work would cost. Eric spent a day and half at my house with a long list of electrical projects in the basement, including adding new recessed LED fixtures. He did a great job installing the fixtures with very few (small) holes in the ceiling, and he had good suggestions about the number and placement of the lights. He also added lights in my storage and utility rooms, and moved or replaced outlets as needed. I was impressed with his professionalism. He arrived on time and called in advance to confirm his appointment. He left everything clean and ready to go. I will use J&G for my next electrical project.

Eric was amazing! I'm so happy with his service. He gave me an estimate over the phone. His prices are very reasonable. A few days later he installed two hallway light fixtures. He arrived on time and completed the work with care and professionalism. He even looked at our ceiling fan that we were having trouble with and replaced the dimmer switch at no extra cost. . I had forgotten about the expiration date, and phoned on the last day, saying I wanted to install a ceiling fan, but did not have one yet.Eric said was fine, and I should phone when I got the fan. He came as scheduled, took the fan in its box from my car, and installed it very efficiently. I realized I was entitled to some more time, so arranged for Eric to return to install a front doorbell. He told me that he would bring the doorbell. The job proved to be more complex than either of us had anticipated, but he cheerfully completed it. I am completely satisfied with all aspects of the service Eric provided, and should the need arise, would call him again. [Eric says he prefers to charge by the job rather than the hour. Makes sense, as he is very efficient.]

We were very pleased with every stage of the experience with J&G Electric in general and Eric in particular. They returned our email promptly, called us for more information, and gave us a very reasonable estimate for the work we had requested. I appreciated that the quote was based on work items rather than time, which meant that I knew what the total amount would be. They were able to fit us into their schedule within a week. Eric arrived on time, and was extremely professional and polite. We appreciated that he took the time to confirm all the details of the work with us again onsite, gave us time to ask any questions, and then got to work. We had to leave for the day, and returned to find that all the work was completed cleanly. A few days later I noticed that Eric had also installed a light fixture cover for a dimmer switch in our basement that had been uncovered. I had never mentioned this to him - I think that it speaks volumes about his attention to detail, and desire to provide excellent customer service. In the future we are looking to wire a room in the basement as a media room - I would certainly call J&G again to complete that work based on my experience this time around.

I live in a DC row home built in 1900 and needed the house wired for cable. Eric was fantastic! He showed up exactly at the time indicated and called ahead to make sure I would be home. Living in an old row home the project required some creative thinking / problem solving. Eric came up with a great solution that worked for my home. I was very impressed with his ability to run the cables and install the outlets with very very little impact to the existing drywall. The job was done with high quality and an impressive attention to detail (e.g., sealing around the wires, securing them to exterior walls, leaving extra cable length just in case). He worked quickly and explained the process throughout. As a curious DIY homeowner I had questions about other projects that he gladly answered and he even gave me instructions / pointers on doing them myself. After the job was complete he took care to clean-up everything and to move the furniture back, he even vacuumed my floors! As an added bonus, he will also accept credit cards! No more searching everywhere for my checkbook. Thanks Eric! I look forward to working with you again.

Eric Sut was on time, did a professional job, and cleaned up afterwards. Eric provided fix prices ahead of time that was independent of how much time it took to complete the job, therefore was no suprisies with the price.Eric is a great guy and I would recommend him to anyone.

I selected J&G because they came highly rated on Angie's list. I called them to see if they would work in my neighborhood. They called back right away and, after I described the work, they gave me a rough estimate over the phone. Scheduling was easy and the electrician came exactly when he said he would arrive. The cost was at or less than what had been estimated on the phone. I was very pleased and would use them again.

Eric from J&G came right on time, performed the work quickly and responsibly, and did an excellent job. He was very careful of his surroundings and willing to answer questions. I would use him again for other electrical work.

A light fixture in my hallway wasn't working, so I called J&G based on the ratings listed on Angie's List. Eric was so friendly and helpful from the moment I called. He was able to come to my house within a week, then showed up on time and included me in the process from start to finish. He answered my questions, didn't make me feel stupid (even though, embarrassingly, my problem turned out to be nothing more than my bulbs), and happily helped with an additional, unplanned problem in the house that was created by another contractor. I would recommend J&G strongly and plan to call them again if an electrical issue arises.
