They are great. We have used them several times. They are good guys. They are punctual and do the work that they say they are going to do and are very responsive. The scheduling has been fine.

Contacted vendor through Angie's List. Original scope of work requested was correcting the polarity of two electrical sockets. Scheduled for a Saturday appointment. On Saturday, I locked myself out and the electrician was already en route. He was very cooperative about pushing my time back so I could be let in by the locksmith I called. That alone would make me use this company again. I had discovered that there were new sockets that have USB ports and had purchased 2 at a big box store. When the electrician arrived and I explained that I wanted to replace the existing sockets with the new ones, he said okay and got them in very quickly. I also had questions about future projects that he answered. In one case he said he'd have to do some studying because I want to install a Nest thermostat and he's never worked with the product. Since it is wireless compatible, he wanted to learn more about it. Happy with what was done, and will probably set up another appointment to get microwave on its own circuit and add extra power for entertainment center. Further in the future, I'll get some light fixtures replaced.

It was perfect. Dave Petry was quick, efficient, knowledgable and polite - and the actual work came in $25 under the estimate. We would absolutely use them again.

They did nice work electrically however the need to make some cuts in the drywall/ceiling left more clean up work than I anticipated. Fan and all works great. Very pleased there.

The technician arrived on time and completed the work quickly. Informed us that alarms would need to be replaced in ten years. Fair price for two 2 Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms and installation. Also worked with my husband to mark the circuits on the box downstairs. We had thought that the ones that were installed when the house was built (1986) didn't need to be replaced. BUT one dark and stormy night, (4:00am and 7*) in Maryland, the alarms went off and we could not turn them off. Called the fire department and they came, disconnected the offending alarm AND installed a new alarm on the main floor. County regulation require that there is an alarm on every floor. HOPE YOU HAVE READ THIS FAR AND WILL CHECK THE BATTERIES IN YOUR ALARMS OR REPLACE THE ALARMS IF THEY ARE MORE THAN TEN YEARS OLD.

I had been having problems with my cable television service, and over the course of a few visits determined that the house was passing voltage back through the coaxial cable - in effect trying to ground the house through the cable television coaxial cable. This had actually caused a fire at the cable junction box away from the house, actually burning it up - so this was a problem requiring a solution. The excess voltage also destroyed one television in the house. Checking the cold water pipe, it had positive voltage indicating a faulty ground. We contacted Certified Electrical Technologies (CET) thru Angie's List and booked a safety inspection. After a thorough checkover, the electrician determined the house had lost its ground when I had a new PVC water line run to the house a few years previously. The new water line replaced an old copper one. The electrician attached the grounding lug to the cold water pipe and eliminated the positive voltage. He pointed out that my house had been built under the building code in place in 1979 which required grounding to the cold water pipe. The code in 2014 now requires the house power panel be grounded to an external driven ground rod. While I was compliant with the code in force at the time of construction, it made sense to bring it up to the current code requirement - particularly with our recent experience. I contracted with CET to ground the house power panel per code and to add a surge protector to the power panel. They also grounded the hot and cold water pipe at the hot water heater. The surge protector was added because in the past, lightening strikes on nearby trees (we are on a hill) had introduced surges to the house. The grounding rods were set where they would ground the system and avoided tearing up our brick patio. Our original appointment for the job fell on a day when the federal government closed and area schools cancelled because of ice and snow. The company called us and rebooked before the appointment window ended. The CET electricians completed the job on schedule to the rebooked appointment, at the agreed price, and made a neat job of it. They were knowledgeable and professional. No pressure for additional services, they simply informed me of the situation and made recommendations as they had been asked to do. Good experience all round and I would commend the company to you.

It went very well. I was very pleased with them.

I've used these guys three times, and all three times the service was good. I call and usually my appointment is within two days. Always get the same guy, (I think Steve's his name) and he comes in and does the jobs with no problems, cleans up and lives. Real nice dude. I'll be using them again soon to install a ceiling fan and another light fixture. I don't do electrical work in the house. I call Certified Electrical Technologies.

Our appointment was scheduled between 10 and 2 on the day of service. Rob arrived about 10:30 and finished the removal of the old Detectors and the installation of the new ones in about 1-1/2 hours. I had someone here working on a computer at the same time which I thought might be a problem, but Rob quietly performed the work, cleaned up and put the old units un our recycling bin, gave me the bill and left after I'd written the check. He was very professional as was the gentleman who arranged the appointment. I'm very pleased with Certified Electric and will call on them again should We need an electrician.

Chuck showed up right on time and was very professional. He was very thorough and even after he found and corrected the problem. He reviewed the rest of the wiring to make sure there were no other issues.

It was perfect and I had no problems. They got the job done in about an hour. The scheduling was good. The electrician was fine.

The electrician called to confirm the appointment. He showed up during the time slot expected. He quickly installed the three new light fixtures and the new GFP compliant socket. He spent most of his time installing a new exterior socket to fix a code violation caused by the home's previous owner. He also looked at a light switch that was acting strange and was able to fix that problem. I've got more projects I want to do and will probably hire these guys again when I'm ready to do those projects.

We contacted Certified Electrical to install two motion lights for the outside of hour home. The appointment scheduling was straightforward, our technician was on time and finished the work quickly and efficiently. We are very happy with the work.

Scott arrived on time, was super efficient and did a great job of installation. Will use them again when I replace my light fixtures.

Technician showed up a scheduled time. Informed me of the work to performed and checked if I was good with the worked to be performed. The tech was very knowledgeable and skilled. I've used CET twice in the last and I keep their business card close by for any upcoming jobs. Satisfied customer. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the near future.

Dale was quick. He was also knowledgeable about codes, so that he could answer my questions completely. I appreciated his candor and clarity. He estimated some other work I wanted done including how to get the most out of my Angie's list coupon.

It went very well. They worked with my schedule and preformed the task timely. The tech was very friendly and spoke well about his company. I will call on them for my electric needs in the future.

I called the provider to try to get someone out to do an estimate. It is slightly involved, as was looking for both an estimate on a heavy up or else a full rewiring, plus 2 other smaller jobs, plus I have panels both inside and out with some issues outside. I was trying to explain about what was wrong outside, but was cut off -Gary was very rude on the phone, claimed he didn't need to send anyone out to do an estimate as "its a house with 4 walls, right?" and he actually hung up on me. I have NEVER dealt with anyone so rude at a business, ever, in my 46 years.

Dale M. arrived on time, explained what he was going to do, answered my questions and commenced his inspection. I had suspected an electrical grounding problem with the house, which he confirmed. He reattached my cold water pipe ground, and advised what we would need to do to bring the house up to Montgomery County code. I will use Certified Electrical Technologies to do the remedial work to bring the house to county code. That work will fully resolve the electrical problem I was having. No pressure from the company - they were knowledgable and professional, two of the attributes I seek in a service provider. Based on my experience, I recommend them to you.

Electrician had to use some imagination to install new fixture to line up with old connection. Did a nice job in a reasonable amount of time. The charge was a Angie special deal.

Professionally achieved stated plan of work and provided provided tips for preventative maintenance of household fixtures.

Everthing was fine. Allen was punctual, very professional. and knew what he was doing. He fixed several non-working outlets and installed an outlet for the washer, which I needed. After the serviice, customer service phoned to check up on my satisfaction. They also mailed me a coupon for a $20 discount for fuiture service. I have some outsde electrical work I will have them do once the weather is better. I also very much appreciated the fact that they honored the Angies List electrical check-up deal even though it was past the expiration date. I recommend them highly.

I had absolutely no complaints about this service! Our technician showed up in a timely fashion and replaced approximately 25-30 outlets in our house that had been painted-over by the previous owners. He was extremely knowledgeable and quick. He also estimated the cost of adding a light fixture to a room for us...which we will be hiring Certified Electrical for (as soon as we settle on a light fixture!)

Electrician was on time, knew what he was doing and quickly sorted out several issues with old wiring as well as installation of new. Fair price quoted up front with no surprises. Highly recommend these folks.
