Certified Electrical Technologies does not visit your home first to assess what needs to be done, which means they do not provide estimates. CET charges on a time and materials basis. As of 8/5/14, their rate is $95.00 for the first 30 minutes and $47.50 + cost of materials for each hour thereafter. Because they do not visit your home first to assess your electrical issues, they try to assess your needs over the phone--which is why I couldn't use them because I want to upgrade recessed lighting in the basement to a more sophisticated lighting system, something that you can't just discuss and resolve over the phone. Response to Contractor (8/18/15): Interesting that CET says I provided incorrect information in my review. I was repeating the information exactly as conveyed to me by the CET employee on the phone. Employees need to be re-trained so that mis-information is not provided to potential customers.

It was fine. He was punctual and the work was done quickly and totally to my satisfaction. The cost of the service was a good value.

Everything went great. The entire service call lasted less than 30 minutes. I still had the better part of my day to run errands. Certified Electrical are true professionals!

The electrician explained in detail some of the the electric issues I had and what I need to do to repair or replace them. He also provided me with an detail estimate to fix those issues and answered all of my questions regarding my electrical concerns. I would recommend using this company. The electrician arrived earlier than expected and phoned ahead of time; Very professional.

All went very well! Dave was very professional and very knowledgeable. He recommended a surge protector for the entire house. Everything turned out well, and it was great. The electrician showed on time, was very professional and knowledgeable, and did a great job with both projects. I haven't had any issues with the lights or the outlets since his visit.

The electrician, Allen (sp?), was punctual, professional, and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem and went to work. After replacing the speed switch, Allen also tried to balance the ceiling fan to stop it from "wobbling." I was disappointed that the electrician was not able to return the ceiling fan to its original three-speed mode. The ceiling fan now only operates on two speeds, too fast and too slow. Well, at least it now works!

After 2 house fires in my neighborhood and at least one was confirmed to have been an electrical I decided I should get the electric inspected in my house. The process was so effortless. The technician arrived promptly, towards the start of the service window. One thing I especially like about Certified is that the technician calls you about a half hour before estimated arrival. The work was done quickly - about a half hour at most. There was no interruption to power and I was able to carry on as usual. I was able to pay with a Visa card, which was very convenient. A word of warning - I was required to write down the 3-digit security code from the back of my card in the payment section of the bill. I was uncomfortable with this but had done it before I realized.

I scheduled an appointment between 12:00 ~ 3:00 pm and the technician came to my house at 2:15 pm. But, he called me 20 min ago to inform me his ETA as promised. He was very nice and professional. He checked the switches, receptacles and circuit breaker box, found out what were the problems and fixed them. He was also very kind to explain all my questions. I really like his work as well as his attitude.
