We contacted CET based on excellent reviews here. We have a garage/barn in our backyard, breaker panel inside, and some above-ground outlets in between here and there, and the power went out at the barn. We asked for someone to come out and troubleshoot, and help us identify the problem and hopefully get the electricity turned back on. We've had this problem before, and it was always the above-ground outlets or something else that didn't require any digging. I was told CET was "not interested at this time," as there was a possibility digging would be required and they don't want to do any digging. I clarified that I was more than happy to pay for the troubleshooting and time, and hopefully it would be an above-ground problem as it always has been, and if it wasn't, then I'd get someone else to dig. CET was not helpful, and simply said "not interested." I hope others have a better, less condescending, response.

Dale was extremely knowledgeable and repaired rather than replaced many electrical items, which I was prepared for. Thus, I was able to return $150 worth of replacement items to Home Depot. His supervisor brought by three repair parts needed for the recessed lights, saving me another service appointment. After the service, I noticed that CET had put a 10% coupon on Angie's List, which was not there when I made the appointment. When I brought this to their attention, they were quick to apply the coupon to the final invoice. This was smart public relations jester. I will definitely use CET again & recommend them to my friends & neighbors.

I had an electrical outlet that was smoking and so they replaced it and put in a more proper outlet. They also provided some helpful tips on various items around the home.

Everything went smoothly. The technician was a consummate professional. We have used CET many times and will continue to do so. There are no surprises with CET. The best electricians in town!

Great service. The electrician called 30 min before arrival and was right on time. He installed 4 recessed lights in the basement and an overhead light in one of the bedrooms. It took just over 4 hours total and the cost was very reasonable. We just moved to the area and would definitely use this company again.

CET was excellent from beginning to end. While the final bill ended up not being a small amount, it was less than the estimates I was provided by other service providers. The technician arrived promptly in the morning and went the extra mile to get the project wrapped up on time. I would strongly recommend their services to anyone needing electrical work performed.

The Technician that arrived was great. However, the appointment scheduler was very rude and sarcastic on the phone. That was disappointing.

Certified Electrical is terrific. Everything went according to schedule, the work was done professionally, and the techician explained important information about what kind of fixtures can -- and cannot -- take particular types of bulbs.

Rob was very professional and helpful. I asked his opinion on some issues, he was very honest. He was very neat and precise. I have some more electrical work to be done and I will ask for Ron. Compared to others, the cost was fair.

The technician (Eric) came out the next day and immediately got to work, explained what he would be doing and how to go about it. As we were removing dry walls he was unsure if he could do the work prior to them being taken out, but he ended up being able to which was great! He was in and out in a timely manner and did everything we asked for. We will definitely use their service again!

I purchased the Angie's List Deal for an $89 electrical safety inspection. The CET electrician arrived within the appointment time, applied booties before coming in the house, and did a very thorough inspection. He answered all of my questions and provided a detailed estimate for his upgrade recommendations. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Living in an older home, the inspection put my mind at ease. And the service I received from CET was top notch. I will definitely use them again in the future.

We are in the process of selling our house and noticed that all prospective buyers were unhappy with the old fuse box system. CET sent us two superb electricians, Dave and Dale, who did the "heavy up" with care, skill, and courtesy. My husband and I could not be more delighted with the results. They kept us informed at different stages, such as when they had to turn off our power for several hours, and took special pains to move a heavy piano that was blocking the wall they needed for the new panel. When they had to cut a small hole in the ceiling of our basement den, they were careful to leave the plaster in place so it could be quickly repaired. I asked for an estimate for a job that wasn't on the list, and they quickly analyzed the problem and gave me a price for future work. Would I use them again? Most definitely! Certified Electrical Technologies is a company I can rely on, and I am so glad that I found them on Angie's List. I immediately called my neighbors and suggested they use CET if they plan to do a similar upgrade.

The good: The inspection went well. The technician performed the inspection and found a few things wrong, including one wire partially melted in an outlet that he promptly repaired (it had been wired incorrectly). A+ for quality. The bad: I gave a C for price because the special was for $89 dollars. The inspection only took 1/2 an hour and he did another 90 minutes of work for us for the normal rate of $95.00 per hour. Thus, the special deal was billed at a rate of $178 per hour. It would have been less expensive to have just hired CET to perform the work done including the inspection then to buy the special. Overall, we will avoid CET special deals, but would hire them again for normal service work (we still have the quote for running a new line).

This provider did an excellent job and performed the service very quickly. I will definitely hire them again when I order a new fixture for my kitchen. I am extremely happy with this company and the installation.

Dave arrived at the time Gary scheduled, and he was courteous and busy from start to completion, even cleaned up when finished. I like the way he laid out each task prior to starting each task. Very organized. Consulted with me before any drilling and tested each circuit for me. Great job and outstanding personality. I recommend using them for all electrical installations and returns.

Rob arrived with the scheduled time frame, calling ahead and arriving within his stated time frame. He got right to work and discovered the issue immediately. He was courteous when answering my questions and did not waste any time. He was also very fair with the time charged for the services. I would recommend Certified Electrical Technologies to friends and family. My only slight complaint is that when I called to schedule the appointment and was trying to explain my issue, I felt a little like no matter how I described what happened, the tech seemed to react like I wasn't describing things properly. I know that they are not able to diagnose issues by just a simple phone call and I'm no electrical expert, but I would have liked to have felt a warmer reception to my issue and need for service. That is why I gave the B for Responsiveness. The tech did let me know that I should purchase a replacement dimmer just in case (as we didn't know what the problem was exactly based on what happened), because they don't carry those on the trucks. It turns out that was the problem and I was glad that information was offered before the appointment. Also, I was able to schedule an appointment within what I consider to be a very timely manner (call on Friday, appointment for Monday afternoon).

Everything was done quickly and no wasted motions. All work took only 3.5 hours which was under the estimated time quoted when I called for the work to be done

The whole process was great and the price was very reasonable. Dave, their electrician arrived right on time. He was very friendly and professional. There were no hidden fees or add-on costs. During the inspection he found the breakers were loose and he tightened them. He also identified that our smoke detectors while they worked individually, they did not work in series the way they were supposed to. I asked for an estimate to have those replaced and a few other items that while they were not a safety hazard or urgent, I want to fix sometime in the future. Dave wrote everything down and within a couple days, I had a follow up call from their office. Overall it was good experience.

It went very well. The technician knew what he was doing, worked quickly, and was polite and friendly. And the bill was less than the estimate. We will be using Certified Electrical Technologies again.

Electrician called about 1/2 hour before arrival, was scheduled a timeframe between 11a and 2p, arrived a little after 1pm. Quickly installed the outlets though spent a little too long talking about random topics all of which was costing labor time. Tried to figure out why front outlet did not work but could find no solution. I also wanted 2 external flood lights replaced and was told they could do it, but they did not tell me I had to buy them separately, no big deal, but would have liked to have known this so I could have had the lights here.
