We replaced all of the outlets and switches in our home. Our technician Jesse was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He showed us where some of the outlets were warped and slightly melted. We reconfigured a few outlets/switches in the process, including putting in a couple outlets with USB ports and moving which switch was connected to which light. He also installed outdoor outlet protectors. While he was at our house, he pointed out the age of the smoke detectors and showed us that they were not working anymore. Based on his recommendation, we replaced the 3 hardwired detectors (one on each floor) and added 3 wireless detectors to each bedroom, bringing the house up to code and making us a lot safer. It took about two total days (though we staggered the work over 3 days). We provided all of the outlets, switches and detectors on our own, and asked him not to waste time cleaning up after himself (since we were paying by the hour).

Great. This was our third time using CET and we've excellent results each time. They respond quickly to inquires, can often have someone there within a few days, and seem to always do quality work. We've had Dale each time and have been pleased with the results each time. He is very polite and happy to answer questions, works quickly, and to my untrained eye seems highly competent. CET remains our go-to electrician.

Performed total electrical inspection and replaced faulty outlet.

CET sent me an email confirming the time and location, and Rob came right on schedule. He was very polite and friendly and after I showed him the work that needed to be done he was right on it. Suggested several good ideas including using circular boxes for the outdoor fixtures instead of the square ones we had. Everything went well and I'd use this company again. Very responsive and reliable, and reasonable price for service performed.

We had a few electrical jobs we wanted done, among them a chandelier in the foyer that we wanted replaced. the ceiling in that area is 18 feet high, so there was some back and forth with the company as to how it should be done. They said they needed to have two people and a special ladder for this. On the day of the job only one guy showed up and he did not have the ladder. There were other jobs to do so he took care of all the other jobs. I had to reschedule another appointment to have that chandelier replaced, which was a little annoying. Generally speaking the electrician showed up on time and did a good job, but the fact that they did not send two guys and the right ladder for the first appointment [especially after discussing the issue with them in advance] was annoying. Also, there was an issue with the electrician going through our basement closets to look for the spare motion sensitive light...

A very friendly, knowledgeable guy came on time and installed the lights with no problem. Also advised me on some work I want done in the future. The price was almost half what my other estimate was.

The provider never showed up for the appointment and the work was never performed. They have an automated system for scheduling and confirming appointments, which requires you to enter a credit card number. After contacting the company with my initial inquiry I was directed to the on-line system to enter my credit card information and confirm the appointment. I did so and received a confirmation e-mail with the date and time of my appointment (April 29, 2016 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.). I even e-mailed the company the day before to ask a question about the following day's appointment and received a response from them. However, no one showed up on the 29th. I called the company and was told that they hadn't received a confirmation from me so they had cancelled the appointment. I told them that I had received a confirmation e-mail, and followed up by forwarding it to them. Apparently there was a problem with the system, and they had never received the confirmation information on their end. They said they left me a voice mail message the day before, but they never spoke with me nor did they send me an e-mail (they had my address, and I had just corresponded with them). I think they were too quick to cancel the appointment after leaving just one voice mail and not trying to contact me in any other way. I also think they should have done some quick research and realized that I had e-mailed them on the 28th asking about my appointment on the 29th. I contacted them following this incident and was not satisfied that they took an appropriate level of responsibility for the problem with their scheduling system, instead focusing on me missing their one voice mail message. I do not think this company has shown themselves to be reliable and do not intend to use their services in the future.

Rob was my serviceman and he was great! He checked everything and I was relieved to know that my electrical system was fine. I would recommend CET and Rob as top rate. I've lived in this area (No.Bethesda) for over 25 years and I've finally found an electrician I will continue to use.

This is the 3rd time I have used Certified Electrical Technologies. The first was a complete electrical house inspection. The second was to correct several electrical problems recommended in the first inspection. On the 3rd visit I had them install a whole house surge arrester and GFI in the powder room.. Each time I requested they send Alan, the technician who first inspected the house. I have been totally satisfied each time Alan has been here and certainly want management to know what a valuable employee they have working for them. Alan is knowledgeable, professional in every respect, informative, and quickly works on the problems. I will use this company for any electrical problems in the future and highly recommend them.

The service was completed within the time window stated, and the serviceman was most professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He even offered me information on the type of wall plate to buy. He removed his shoes, and was very courteous.

What seemed to be an expensive problem with the lights in 2 rooms was found only to need new plugs. Now I have lights. Thanks so much. Electrician was very helpful in explaining everything. The yard lights even work now.

The technician (he introduced himself: Alan) called 20 minutes before the arrival time to let me know he was on the way, and arrived on time. I showed Alan the ceiling fan, and he carried it upstairs for me. He took measurements to center the fan on the ceiling and we chatted about music as he began working. I had put my vacuum cleaner in the room to clean up when he was finished, but when I went back upstairs to check progress, he was finished and vacuuming the room :). He helped me move the bed back into place, took out all the garbage, removed the sheet I'd put over the bed and took it to the laundry room. He then gave me instructions for the fan, (pretty easy with the remote control), and told me it was safe to leave on all day. I was very impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, courtesy and helpfulness

Chuck, the CET electrician did an outstanding job installing the ceiling fan in my family room. He was very professional and cleaned up after the project was complete.

Dale arrived promptly, was courteous and did a professional job. We couldn't have asked for better; a $10.00 promo was also helpful.

Rob was great. He performed the inspection and pointed out several issues and answered all of our questions relating to future work we want done.

This was the second time in my home (built in 1981) that I had lost power due to a electrical cord being burned. Basically the active (black) cable suddenly snaps in two due to heat across the wires. I had used a different electrician in the past who did an OK job but I wasn't really thrilled with so I decided to try CET this time around. I was extremely satisfied with their services. Jesse who they sent out called 30 minutes before arriving and was very knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to repair the bad wire as well as check and repair others that were showing the same signs. Every time he would take the time to show me and even explained why this was probably happening. Due to this and other various reasons that I won't get into he recommended I replace my circuit breaker box completely which I agree with and will be using them in the near future to do so. After repairing the wires he inspected other aspects of the house to verify grounding and other areas were good. He found that the Verizon ONT (where the FIOS comes in) that was recently replaced was never grounded into the house which is a potential problem waiting to happen. I called Verizon and they will be out to fix their mistake. All this and they were 70 bucks cheaper then the other electrician that just fixed one wire and didn't check the others that could of prevented this second outage at my home (and a potential fire.) I have already recommended them to my neighbors that need work done and I would do the same to anyone reading this.

The transformer blew on my kitchen ceiling light, so I bought a similar light fixture and called CET to install it. Got an appointment within a few days, and a call 1/2 hour before the appointment to confirm the electrician was on his way. Dale soon established that there was a problem with the new light, tested it several times but although the ceiling wiring was fine, the light wouldn't work. He advised against getting a light with a transformer, suggested several brands and and gave me a list of specific things to look for when buying a new light that would work with my wiring and space (small!). I ordered another light, made a new appointment, and this time Dale was in and out within half an hour. He told me how to lower part of the fixture safely so patching and painting could be done. In addition to his careful and thorough work, I really appreciate that Dale called the office on his first trip to say the work couldn't be finished due to the defective light fixture, and got an OK for the work to be billed as a continuation of work rather than two separate visits. Some people and companies wouldn't have done that. Plus, he swept the floor after the first visit. All in all, a very good experience, so I will call CET when I need electrical work done.

I originally had the company perform a whole house electrical inspection which indicated several electrical corrections were needed. This second visit completed those tasks which I wanted accomplished. I also requested the same technician who did the house inspection and received the same exceptional service. The technician was professional, accomplished the work in minimal time, and provided valued information of the process and electrical corrections. I highly recommend this company and will use them again to install a whole house surge protector. Certified Electrical Technologies is by far the best electrical company I have used and gives the best and fairest price for electrical problems.

David was great. Called to give me a heads-up that he was on his way, was polite and considerate (used booties inside the house so as not to track anything in) upon arrival, had the problem diagnosed and fixed within 30 minutes. Provided lots of helpful tips for maintenance as he worked. I would definitely use them again.

This is the electrical company for which I've been searching for years. Had some items that were stacking up because I didn't believe I could find a company I could trust. Certified Electrical is that company. Their guy, Dale, who was extremely nice and professional, arrived on time and started working. Once he got the switch out of the way, he attacked the problems I've been having with my ceiling fan, which worked for a week and then quit. He discovered that the boxes for the light switches in the room weren't up to code (which he corrected) and also installed some wiring to split off the fan from the recessed lights circuit. Once he finished that, he was able to fix the blown receiver in the ceiling fan (blown because another electrician put a dimmer switch on the circuit without splitting off the fan). I now have a fan that I can safely use for the first time in two years, and my boxes/switches are done properly. Once this was done, he made short work of the new install of a recessed light and switch downstairs. Cannot say enough about Dale - wish all contractors had employees who were as careful, thoughtful, and hard working as him. Best part was that Dale patiently explained what he was doing at all steps and answered all my questions. Again, this is a company that I will hire again in a heartbeat if I need more work done. So happy to have found them!

The electrician was on time, friendly, courteous, and kept the master bed (fan was directly over the bed) clean! He was able to complete the job without enlarging or cutting extra holes in the ceiling and even cleaned his prints off the ceiling when done.

Very professional in every way. Fixed flickering stairwell light by: 1) changing switches at bottom and top of stairwell; 2) repairing connection of light fixture (required special nuts because of aluminum wiring in house), and 3) tightening all connections in garage fuse box. Also gave me detailed advice on two electrical issues I may want assistance with later (improved sump pump electrical connection, outside light for backyard deck).

Everything went smoothly. Jesse was professional and went out of his way to ensure we were happy. He also spotted some minor safety issues with the way our panel was wired and fixed them within the time I already paid for.

The old fans were much too heavy to consider doing the job myself, and newer fans have different wiring requirements than old ones. I've used Certified for the last 10+ years for various projects and they always do a fine job. Very happy how this job went and I'd use them again.

I purchased a deal. My track lighting was not working so I had no idea how much it would cost to fix the problem. It turned out that the switch was the problem and it was replaced quickly.
