Found this company through Angie's List. I called several companies and Professional Electric was the first to get back to me. Some companies never even called. Not only did they call back several times to schedule the service or answer questions, they worked with my schedule and were able to get the work done quickly. They showed up exactly when they said they would and were very professional and nice. These guys did an awesome job running the line through finished space and with very minimal cuts to drywall. The cuts to the drywall were very clean so they can be easily repaired. They also cleaned everything up very nice. These guys really put a lot of effort into doing quality work as if it was their own home. They tried to give me a ballpark quote over the phone, but the bill was a bit higher because the job was a bit more involved. I think they were very fair with their price. I can be pretty critical with contractors or service calls because I have had some bad experiences, so a great review from me means I was very impressed with this company and highly recommend them to anybody looking for pro electrical work.

I had my December 2014 Baltimore Edition Angie's List Monthly and there in the Rave Reviews section was Professional Electric. I emailed on Thursday evening and got an email response. I spoke to Rob on Friday and he scheduled a visit later that day. He and another associate arrived, were professional and friendly, and had all three repairs completed in about 30 minutes. The cost was very reasonable but even so, Rob explained that one of the parts was a bit expensive. I am completely satisfied with the work of Professional Electric and have already recommended them to a co-worker. If I have any future electrical repair needs, I will not hesitate to call them. Thanks to Angie's List Monthly for accurately anticipating my service provider needs :)
Description of Work: I had been collecting small electrical jobs around my home. The light switch in the bathroom finally quit (the light would not go out) and I tried to do the repair but realized quickly that I could not. So, there were three small jobs (if you know what you are doing): the light switch, a florescent ceiling light that worked intermittently, and an electrical socket that was not functioning.

The services provided from Professional Electric Inc was definitely worth well spent. We have a split level house where when you walk through the door, you have to either walk up or down. Therefore, the ceiling fan which was in the foyer was on the second floor ceiling which was about probaly 16 to 18 feet high. The ceiling fan was lowered on a 4 foot pole. A 12 foot ladder was used and the electrician had no problem reaching the fan to dismantle the heavy components. His assistant was proactive with putting the new fan together. There was a discovery made by the electrician that I am glad that he made us aware of. Whom ever in the past put up the old ceiling fan, used a plastic box(whatever the thing that hold the ceiling fan that goes inside the ceiling's surface). He said that this was "not" by code and that the we were lucky that the old ceiling fan did not come crashing down all this time. So he suggested that we replace it with the standard code "metal" box. He had a hard time thought installing it, but he worked it out eventually and then proceeded to put my new one together. The final results were beautiful! The fan was put up and tested, it was secure, did not shake and worked beautiful. The brand of fan that we purchased to our pleasant surprised came with two types of fan blades and a remote control. All in all, we will use this company again.
Description of Work: Replaced old ceiling fan with a brand new one, replaced old plastic junction box with metal one.

This is the fifth time we have had electrical work done by Professional Electric. They are always very punctual, responsive and professional. They have installed outside outlets, installed kitchen lights, replaced outlets and installed 3 ceiling fans. On this particular occasion they replaced an old broken ceiling fan. The two electricians arrived exactly when promised as always. We were informed that the ceiling fan we had purchased would hand too low from the ceiling. The electricians were kind enough to wait for us to drive to the local hardware store to purchase a flush mount fan. We thought that was above and beyond! Instead of rescheduling our appointment for a future date they waited for us to return with the proper fan. We will always call Professional Electric for all our electrical needs!

I sent Rob from Professional Electric a message to get an estimate to upgrade our electric panel. We talked on the phone, he got some information, and then drove by the house that we were going to purchase. He listened to what I was asking and was able to give me an estimate that was several hundred dollars less than all other bids. His electricians showed up promptly and got right to work. They were efficient and courteous. While they were working, Rob stopped by to see how they were doing. My brother, who does a lot of electrical work, but is not licensed, commented on what good work they were doing. I would definitely recommend Rob and Professional Electric to anyone who asked,

I CALLED PROFESSIONAL ELECTRIC INC AND SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE OWNER MR ROB COOPER. HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND PROVIDED ME WITH AN HONEST PRICE FOR THE JOB AND I SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT. TWO PROFESSIONALLY DRESSED EMPLOYEES ARRIVED ON TIME AS AGREED . THE CREW REMOVED TWO OLD CEILING FANS AND REPLACED THEM WITH NEW CEILING FANS I HAD PURCHASED AT A LOCAL BOX STORE. THE EMPLOYEES PROVIDED EXCELLENT SERVICE AND WERE PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. THEY REPAIRED A LOOSE BOX SWITCH IN A THIRD BEDROOM.THEY USED DROP CLOTHES TO PROTECT THE AREAS IN MY HOME FROM BEING SOILED WHILE THEY REMOVED THE OLD CEILING FANS AND COMPLETED THEIR WORK ON TIME. THEY HONORED A $20.00 COUPON FROM A LOCAL PHONE DIRECTORY THAT REDUCED THE COST FROM $140.00 TO $120.00 WHICH WAS BETTER THEN THEIR 10% OFF ANGIE'S LIST MEMBER COUPON. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM AGAIN FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE.

They worked really hard, there was a lot to do. They had to dig under the walkway to install t grounding rods. The Inspector looked for these rods. I had previously purchased the breakers for the new box. He installed my breakers and hooked up the white and ground lines. It was hard to put the new service cable line up because of its stiffness but they got it done. I was really pleased with their work.
Description of Work: Tore out my old panel box and installed a new bigger box. He hooked up all of my lines that were in the old box. He ran a new service cable from the connection point to the new box. The electrical Inspector stopped by today and approved the work done.

I hired Robert Cooper and his crew due to my realtor recommendation. His quote was competitive, so I hired him. He was responsive to providing the work before he got paid and he claimed he offers lifetime warranty. He seemed to prefer communication over texting, including taking a picture of the quote and texting it to me, which I didn't mind. But what bothered me was that after the work was done and he got paid, he was supposed to help me set up inspections from the County and schedule the hookup with BGE. He doesn't want to spend any time meeting with inspectors, so he asks the owner to do the meet-ups, which would've been ok with me if the inspections went smoothly. The problem was that both inspections didn't pass the first time. When I called Rob for solutions, he was extremely rude about it. He hung up on me after getting impatient and he claims I called him a million times a day when I actually only called him twice and left messages without getting a response. County inspection failed because his crew didn't provide the 2nd ground wire inside the house. I had to schedule the 2nd inspection myself when he didn't get back to me. The BGE hook-up couldn't happen the first time after I waiting for the BGE crew for 3 hours because Robert didn't provide a board behind the meter box for BGE to mount their equipment. This all happened the day before my house settlement. Robert didn't come out once to help me resolve these issues. He called the county inspector stupid but he only installed the second ground wire outside when he was supposed to have two ground wires inside. He even refused to talk to BGE while I had the crew standing next to me. He is clearly not up-to-date on the current code and he was very eager to dismiss me on the phone. I wasn't even rude or yelling at him at the time. I just wanted a solution. I called my realtor who recommended him and he got on the phone with him, and he was shocked about how rude he was too. My realtor said he got a couple of complaints about him too so he swore not to recommend him to anyone else. I have used quote a few contractors in the past and I've never encountered anyone like him. I've always left A reviews to others. But I have to warn others about him on Angiestlist. I don't know how he got A reviews here. But please BE AWARE!

Very friendly owner and lead electrician. 90% of what they did was fantastic. I wasn't completely satisfied with 1 of the items they performed.
On March 10th I sent an email to Rob Cooper from Professional Electric asking if he could look at a probable bad switch at my rental property. He replied back quickly and said he could take a look. I had attempted to fix the switch problem myself, but was having issues so I left the switch (non-dimmer) I was using in the electrical box. Since I previously had a dimmer switch in there I asked him to replace the switch with a dimmer, to keep the original setup. I wasn?t informed the work was completed, but had stopped by my rental property a few days later and noticed the work was done, but a dimmer wasn?t installed. Instead, the regular switch that I was testing the wiring had been installed. I emailed Rob to state that I had been at my property, but noticed the dimmer hadn?t been installed and asked him the cost, for my general knowledge. He stated that they didn?t have a dimmer and it was $185. He also stated he sent me a picture, but I never received it. On the 23rd I sent Rob an email asking if he could come out to our residence and give us an estimate for wall sconce wiring, another switch in our bedroom, a short circuit in cabinet lighting, garage florescent lighting, shed lighting and outlet and additional power outlets in our office. The next morning I received a reply, which I took as rude, which stated ?you haven?t paid for work done two weeks ago at the rental property.? I replied I never received an invoice and if he?d send me one I?d be happy to pay. I?ve used Professional Electric for under cabinet lighting, an attic fan and an additional power receptacle in our kitchen island. I?ve always paid on time, so receiving this email from him certainly made me mad and I replied as such saying I didn?t appreciate it, I?ve always paid my bills and he never sent an invoice. I also stated that this is a rental property, so I obviously need a receipt for tax purposes to pass along to our accountant. Rob took a picture of the invoice with his phone and emailed me a crappy copy of the picture! I can now see on the work order it clearly stated to install a dimmer, which wasn?t done, but I was charged $185 to install a switch! I again asked him if he could mail the invoice and he replied with a quick ?OK? and nothing more so I guess I?ll see if he sends the invoice, which is the only way I?ll write him a check. Rob was just plain rude to me and what kind of a company doesn?t send an invoice to a customer and then sends it via a crappy phone picture? I don?t know if he was having a bad day or what, but the customer always comes first and that was not the case when dealing with Rob this time. Additionally, he missed out on a few thousand dollars of work and I?ve already reached out to other electricians who are more than happy to earn some money. Although he did great work in the past, if you read previous reviews it appears that Rob has fits at times and forgets he?s dealing with people that are paying his mortgage every month. So long to Professional Electric and Rob Cooper!

I recently purchased a home and there were several electrical issues that were raised on the inspection report before purchasing. I called regarding the services that I needed done. He (Mike, I think) was very polite and personable. I wasn't able to be home when they came but my mother was and upon their arrival they (Mike and Johnny) called to confirm what I wanted done. They finished everything in 2 hours which is impressive because the wiring/grounding upstairs was a mess. Apparently the previous owner had someone in to do some rewiring that didn't fully know what they were doing. I didn't realize they had to go to every room, so I hadn't moved all of the furniture from all of the receptacles. They moved and/or shifted some of the furniture (which I appreciate because my furniture is all heavy) and went through and tested every outlet upstairs to make sure everything was grounded properly even after they found the apparent problem. They seemed thorough. My mom said she loved them, they were professional and she would definitely recommend hiring them again. They are very familiar with the old Levitt homes in Bowie and did a good job and were reasonably priced.

Best experience ever . Over the years, we've had several electrical problem in the house, and have had other electricians come out to fix things. Some of the previous electricians did shoddy work (one of them even spent his time asking me how I wanted to run electrical cable!) and every one of them left huge holes in my drywall where they worked. They don't fix the holes - I had to do that myself. This was by far the best experience we've had -- within minutes of my original call, I had an electrician on the phone to set up an appointment for an estimate. He came by the following day. When we called back to schedule the work, we expected to wait weeks to get on the schedule...but I called on Thursday, and they did the work on Monday. The guys who came to do the work were professional, knowledgeable, polite, and the quality of the work is amazing! For the first time, after the electrical work was done I don't have a house full of gaping holes in the drywall. These guys did NOT leave a mess. They were fantastic!

Although the price quoted (with Angie's list discount) was about $100 higher than two other estimates I had received for the job I decided to use them as I felt they understood exactly what I wanted to do, which was to ensure the lighting installation looked custom rather than some afterthought as I've seen in other remodels. I wasn't disappointed. The electricians arrived on time, wired and installed the recessed lighting. The also wired and hung the island light fixture I provided. These guys are true professionals. They took the extra steps to lay down drop cloths to protect the new flooring and granite, cut and ran the new wiring in such a way that there were only two holes that would require patching in the ceiling. Even went as far as to show me how to wire my under-counter lights. The job was accomplished in 4 hours with 2 guys and within budget. I would definitely recommend and use these guys again. ..
