Description of Work: My experience with Verizon left me with a very bitter taste. I canceled my service with Verizon in late June 2011 because I was offered a much better package deal with Comcast. Now, four months later I received phone calls from a collection agency regarding an overdue payment to Verizon. I was dumbfounded! I was completely unaware of any unpaid charges. I did not receive a final notice of payment due (I had made my last payment in July to Verizon and thought that was the final bill). I definitely did NOT receive any notice of overdue payment or anything that informed me that there was a final amount due. And yet Verizon turned my account over to a collection agency!! Calls to Verizon and to the collection agency were not at all helpful. They just treated me as if I were a deadbeat. I think Verizon was totally irresponsible and uncaring as to how they treat a customer - even if I were no longer with them, they should have had the decency to give me some kind of warning about an overdue payment. I would not recommend Verizon to anyone. All they care about is getting new customers - their service to current customers is poor. That was one of the reasons I left them.
