It turned out pretty good. The cost of service was included in the price of the appliance. The service when it happened was good, but it was difficult to arrange. My advice to others is to do it.
Conclusion: It's 4:35 and XPO just picked up the stove. I cancelled the stove I ordered from Lowe's and found a stove with all the functions I thought I had to give up in order to stay within my budget. I am getting a smudge proof stainless steel oven with a convection stove (had on my old stove) and this stove has automatic slide out racks all for $300 LESS than Lowe's. I went to Doyon's in Reading and had a pleasant experience. I later decided to get the five year parts & labor contract for $235. It took one phone call and the person who answered the phone took care of it. Can't wait to get my new stove tomorrow. I will never purchase an appliance from one of the big box stores.
Finally the installers came (1 month later) to install one room and one set of stairs in one carpet, and another room and set using a different carpet. They were to need one full day and half of the next. At the end of the first day they asked if they come come back 5 days later to finish the installation. We agreed that that was okay. When they installed on the second day, there was insufficient padding to use on one of the sets of stairs (the one with the most foot traffic). Who's mistake that was we don't know, but Lowes only reimbursed us for what we paid for the missing carpet. We deemed this less disruptive than tearing down the already laid carpet and old padding and doing it completely over. We did have a problem with carpet installed under a heated baseboard in one room (it dipped off noticeably after the tack strip and looked like a long valley across the whole long side of the room. After much back and forth, photos, etc. one of the installers came back and fixed the problem to our satisfaction. The installers were pleasant and agreeable during all the back and forth, as were the employees at Lowes. However, the problems we experienced should not have happened in the first place. This whole job took too much work on our part, so we would probably not use this a box store again unless it was for a simple one-room carpet.
THE TWO MAN CREW, SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ! UPSTAIRS ONE DAY; GROUND FLOOR ON DAY TWO. YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW THAT THEY REMOVED ALL OF THE CASINGS AND REINSTALLED THEM. WE EVEN HAVE ROOMS WITH WALL PAPER AND YOU CAN'T TELL THAT ANYTHING WAS DISTURBED.
OUR LOWE'S REP WAS MATT. HE CAME TO THE HOUSE, MEASURED ALL THE WINDOWS, HELPED US EXTEND OUR CREDIT LINE WITH LOWES, ARRANGED 12 MONTH NO FINANCE CHARGE PAYMENT PLAN. HE SPENT AS MUCH TIME AS WE NEEDED TO HAVE ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED.
OUR DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND HAD PELLA VINYL WINDOWS INSTALLED IN THEIR OLDER HOME DIRECTLY FROM PELLA. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GET A BETTER DEAL THAT WAY. YOU MAY WANT TO GET 2 QUOTES. I CANNOT COMPARE JOBS AS THEY GOT MORE WINDOWS AND DOORS, AND THEY GOT THE VINYL WINDOWS.
WE LOVE THE WINDOWS. THEY LOOK GREAT WITH THE REMOVABLE MOULIONS.WE LIKE THE FEEL OF THE WOOD AND HOW IT GOES WITH OUR DECOR.
MAYBE ONE BENFIT OF USING LOWES IS THAT IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG, YOU HAVE SOMEONE LOCAL TO DEAL WITH.
As you might expected it came in the mail and it came with little letter as far as I remember and I went to the store I used the gift card. The people they are always very nice. They took the gift card it was easy I paid for the balance with cash or credit I don’t remember and uneventful.
They are open very long hours everyday.
For the most recent fridge I bought, a special-ordered black refrigerator going into an apartment I rent out in the North End, I was told that the delivery team did not have to deliver the frdige if it meant risking a parking ticket. So, to ensure the smoothest delivery, I told Lowe's that the refrigerator needed to be delivered in the morning. (The North End has many and quot;Commercial Parking Onlyand quot; spaces open between 8am-12 noon - - spaces specificially left open so that delivery trucks can make deliveries.) Unidentified people from the Lowe's applicance dept. kept calling me at home telling me I had to re-confirm delivery. They never left their name, merely messages, and quot; This is Lowe's calling. You must call us to confirm delivery.and quot; The one-time the delivery manager, Kate, called me she left me a voicemail similar to, and quot; This is Kate from Lowe's calling. You need to call us to reconfirm delivery.and quot; She never identified herself as the delivery manager, only first name. Later the manager-in-charge told me Kate was the delivery manager. One Tuesday evening between 4:30pm-7:30pm I called the Lowe's Appliance dept four separate times to try to re-confirm delivery. No-one in the Appliance dept answered any of the four phone calls, their phone just rang and rang, until I finally hung up.
O.K. I finally confirm the delivery. When do they schedule me? Between 2pm and 4pm on a Thursday. Worn down by the incessant back-and-forth phone calls to Lowe's, their leaving me voicemails from unidentied Lowe's employees, my attempted communications with the store - - I sit on the outside stoop of the North End building waiting for the delivery truck. The truck shows up and live parks at a hydrant. Suprise! There are no legal parking spaces available to park in. We agree that the truck driver will talk to his manager to schedule me for next Monday moring. (I had a church meeting on Friday morning. So Monday was my next available time to accept a delivery.) Later that evening, I get a call that my fridge is scheduled for Friday delivery. I speak to delivery scheduler and push it off to Monday morning . On Monday, the fridge is delivered. To get this fridge delivered took betwwen 10-20 phone calls or attempted phone calls - I literally felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall over-and-over.
The first fridge I bought from Lowe's in May of 2013, to my home in Somerville, took four devliery attempts. The first delivery attempt, the driver showed up, took out a measuring tape, pretended to measure my back stairs - - then he pronounced that the fridge wouldn't fit up the back stairs. I insisted the fridge would fit, a second delivery was scheduled, and the delivery team stood me up. No-one called. I stayed home on the allotted date and time they scheduled me for, and no-one showed up. So for the next delivery attemp, I insisted the fridge would fit up the back stairs and insisted on a different delivery team. On the third scheduled delivery, the delivery team took the fridge doors off, and brought the fridge into the house. Unfortunately when they put the fridge doors back on, they did it incorrectly. The fridge beeped incessantly. So, a fourth visit was scheduled, with a Lowe's service provider and they fixed the fridge. Multiple phone calls were required for each of these four visits into Somerville.
Both refrigerator deliveries were awful, so awful, that I believe Lowe's and their delivery agent, are and quot;gamingand quot; the customer surveys by only surveying customers whose deliveries went well. Then they can feed these phony, trumped-up-statistics to their management. (I was never surveyed on the second refrigerator delivery into the North End and told to restrict my comments to only the last delivery team on my first refrigerator delivery into Somerville.)
I asked to speak to a store manager; I waited ten minutes for him, he never came out of his office - and I finally left.
If you are going to have and quot;product availabilityand quot; on your website, why isn't it accurate? I made a special trip to this store for this one item and came home not just empty handed, but very disappointed with quality of customer service.
