I though I needed a new pool pump. Joe O'Brien came in and said the old on looked workable and fixed it. They not only installed the sprinkler timer but programmed it for me which they certainly did not have to do. They were pleasant and professional and I definitely recommend them.

They seemed very busy. Two people showed up for my inspection. They spent some time in the basement and found a potential issues in my breaker. They spent the majority of the time on the breaker and didn't spend much other time around the rest of the house. They said they would come back to me with more information on the inspection but I never heard back from them.

Very happy with the provider. This is the second project we had them do. We are very impressed with JP OBrien / David Niemi's communication. He's very responsive, very courteous, thorough in explanation. David Niemi and his colleagues literally squeezed in an extra day before the summer break in order to get this project completed. Prior to submitting the work proposal, he actually came to take measurements in order to minimize the service disruption to my family, and as a result he was able to finish in good time. The project includes the installation of a new panel and panel mount, and external wiring. All were done with excellent quality. Now we know why these guys are "Angie's List Celebrities"! That we discovered them through Angie's List is worth the price we paid for subscription.

I was very pleased with the work. I was anxious about the amount of damage that would occur in cutting open walls and ceilings to remove and replace wiring. The holes were small and they managed to place switches and outlets to avoid additional holes. They cleaned up after themselves, they were professional and were able to install additional lights and switches that I had requested.

This was a great walk through. I mainly needed it to get a few sign offs for insulation work that required a safety check in the attic, but also I wanted a walk through of the house to check the safety of everything and answer a few questions I had. It was extremely informative and the contractor who came out was friendly and explained everything he was looking at. I mainly picked JP because of the $99 coupon they had but also because they had good reviews. Overall, this $99 walk through was well worth it: very informative and helpful - they also emailed me a list of cost estimates for projects I questioned about.

Joe started in April, 2014 and had to work around a vacation for us and other contractors installing siding and windows. He and his coworker were on time and always showed up on the agreed upon days and cleaned up each day. I had asked him to do a preliminary assessment for $100 as part of the proposal process, so we knew what the cost and scope would be. About 60% of the wiring was replaced and all that could be physically removed was pulled out. That is what prompted a decision to add 200 amp service, since the panel would be extensively rewired anyway. My grandson and I had been researching new lighting and had selected some designs for nearly flush ceiling fixtures. Joe suggested the Glimpse product, which carries a UL rating, and they have worked out well. They are so bright, we had to add dimmer switches. We were fortunate that we had access to an unfinished area under the roof, so that many wires could be run from the basement through a series of closets to the attic area and then distributed from there. Total elapsed time for the job was about 3 weeks, spread over 2 1/2 months. Once the knob and tube wiring is disconnected that service is lost until rewiring is complete, so we had to run extension cords in some areas to provide lighting. The actual 200 amp switchover took a day where there was no power. At a later date National Grid came by to run new wiring from the pole, but that was only about 20 minutes downtime. There is a significant amount of wall penetrations required to pull new wires and there was some time needed to patch the holes and paint and paper over. At this point--a year later--, we have finished redecorating the first floor,which was a separate project we had in the works, but still have some touch up to do upstairs. Joe and Rob were very thorough and worked through every problem and I highly recommend them.

The job went very well. Joseph was a professional and first came to the house to see what it was we wanted done. He then emailed me a quote within 24 hours. I am very happy with the work. Having three thermostats that ACTUALLY work is great. His quote came in on target and was very reasonable for the amount of work that I had done. I would highly recommend him if you need electrical work done.

They didn't show up on time but they did apologize and gave a reduced price. It was a quick job.

It was fine. The guys were nice. There were no additional fees associated with the deal.

Joseph was awesome, he was prompt and answered all my questions. I was a nervous wreck because we were without hot water and it was bitter cold. He assured me that everything would be okay and was very pleasant. I am a member of Angie's List and I have never needed an electrician and no one could refer me to one and I read the reviews, it was the first one listed and I made the phone call. Now I have a new electrician. Thank you.

Joe came on time for the walkthrough, was very polite and gave good explanations on improvements he recommended and how to go about them. He also gave very good input on future house improvement plans that may impact the electrical system.

My wife loves the under cabinet kitchen lights. The new outlet in the dining room makes things to plug in more convenient. Everything went fine with no hitches. JP showed up exactly at 9:00 on a Saturday morning, and went right to it. Thank-you

Everything went smoothly. JP OBRIEN showed up exactly at 8:00AM, and started the preliminary work before National grid showed up. I have had this electrician do several electrical jobs for me and he is always on time. They moved my service line from from the side of the house to the rear and raised it, to the point where it would pass inspection by the town electrical inspector. JP also bonded my pool so it would pass inspection also. Permits were pulled for everything. Everything passed with flying colors. Cost was very reasonable for the piece of mind I now enjoy knowing my family is safe. Thank-you

I called on 12/30 and O'Brien Electric arranged to come over 12/31. Our front porch light had stopped working. The technician figured out the problem and replaced the broken parts quickly and efficiently.

When they took the old fan down, they said that they didn't need to replace it. They said they could repair it and it would be cheaper. Not a lot of people will do that. I had them replace it anyway. I have to give them a high mark for honesty and integrity. The price was pretty average for that installation. The guys knew what they were doing. They were professional and were in and out of here in less than an hour. They cleaned up extensively.

While he wasn't able to fix the problem he was thoughtful in his explanation about the potential source of the problem, identified another contractor to potential fix the issue and contacted them on our behalf. Really appreciated his care and concern on the matter.

They were prompt, professional, thorough and friendly. They completed each task, were diligent about their work, and took on one extra impromptu task while there were here. The last one was a little tricky but there were both persistent and creative in working to come up with a solution. The price was reasonable and fair. Not a deal, but totally reasonable and fair. Highly recommend.
