"We hired DMO Scapes to do a Spring cleanup, edge and mulch our property. The contracting process for the work was easy. We have a 2.5 acre estate with over a thousand feet of edging plus spreading 12 yards of mulch. Donnie,Henry and Vinnie arrived on time equipped with everything they needed to do the job. They worked hard, fast and neatly. As arranged, the work was completed in two days When they were done the place just sparkled. You can deal with this company with complete confidence!"

"The job was done fine, and the final price was fair. There was a significant difference between the verbal estimate and the first written estimate, but after some negotiations, the issue was settled. Also when the contractor started the job, he discovered that he couldn't do the job as agreed. It was originally agreed to use paved stone pavers instead of replacing my flagstone. But the existing foundation did not allow this. In the end, the contractor did what I originally wanted; and that was to reset my old flagstone. He adjusted the price accordingly. I was very satisfied, and highly recommend this contractor."

"Leaves this year up to my knees and I just had hip surgery!! Brattles Landscape responded to my request for assistance quickly, professionally and attended to every detail. The crew worked diligently, held respect for the garden beds and the property was left spotless. An excellent choice for landscape maintenance. We spoke of other projects on the horizon, and I look forward to working again with Brattles. Sagamore Beach, 2018"

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Natural pools don’t necessarily attract snakes, although there is a chance they could stop by for a quick visit. They’re not likely to stay, however, because there’s nothing for snakes to eat in a natural pool environment. A well-maintained natural pool has clear water, so you should be able to easily spot a snake before diving in.

If you’re wondering how to build a pond above ground, it’s similar to building a pond below ground. Instead of digging, choose a plastic tub and install the same type of pond kit. Many homeowners find above-ground ponds a bit easier to install and maintain. Before getting started, learn how to design the landscape of your dreams,

One reason you may want to fill in your pond is the cost of maintenance. Pond cleaning may cost about $1,000 for an annual cleanup, or monthly visits may cost $75 to $100 per visit. If you don’t want to spend that much per year on pond upkeep, you may consider filling in your pond.

Koi fish should be in the shade and can’t be directly exposed to the sun. Consider building your koi pond in a shaded spot or hanging an awning over the top to control the amount of sunlight coming in. Learn how to design a landscape properly.

Placing your water feature in direct sun can speed up evaporation, leading to pump damage and algae growth. Shade or partial shade serves as the ideal location for most water features—just watch out for tree and plant debris that may fall in and clog the pump.
