"Ken, the owner of Northeast Dog Guard, was amazing. I have a very highly active and very fast large dog. She is 35 lbs., and we had her only 4 weeks when Ken came to our rescue. We have tried GPS collars (2 to be exact) and they were unpredictable. Our dog would run the GPS fence because one day it works and the next day it would not. The boundaries also shifted based on satellite positions. Not worth the expensive investment. Not with Ken’s and Northeast Dog Guard collar. He arrived on time on schedule, even on the rainiest day and worked with me and my large puppy to install and train her. How long it takes to install a fence depends on the size of the fence; the longer the fence, the longer the install will take. That said, you can typically install a bamboo fence over a weekend for a reasonably sized yard. A team of fencing contractors can likely get your bamboo fence assembled in half a day to a day.

Permit requirements for new fencing vary based on location. Typically, fences less than 6 feet tall in your backyard do not require a permit. Fences in the front yard usually have a lower height cap. There can also be exceptions if you live in a highly populated area or an area with mixed residential and commercial zones.

Since wood is weaker when installed horizontally versus vertically, a horizontal fence is prone to sagging. You can prevent this drooping from happening by building a sturdier fence. Use softwoods that are more stable, such as cedar and redwood, or denser hardwoods for your fence materials. If you can’t afford these pricey materials, use thicker two-by-six pressure-treated pine boards or shorten the span the fence boards have to cover by installing more posts.

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.
