I have been to many of Diana Sherman's estate sales, and like most professionals in this line of work she holds the price steady the first day and will reduce it when the sale is almost over. So, the buyer has to decide whether to wait or to buy now because the item may be gone later. I have bought many things at these sales and have been well satisfied with all of them, both in terms of price and in terms of getting what I thought I was buying.
Description of Work: Showed well displayed high quality items with prices that were well positioned given the goods for sale. Diana fairly represents the person whose estate is being sold and these estates are always high quality. She knows proper pricing for a wide variety of furnishings and does not overcharge and does not undercharge. Good value for good stuff. She stands for the integrity of her pricing and will not reduce prices unreasonably. She is very much a professional and should be treated that way.

,I don't know if I have standing to review Ms. Sherman, but I thought I should do so as a public service. . She was rude to my husband when he sat quietly in a chair while I shopped, accusing him of making a mess in the room (!) and telling him to move. Although one of her employees had earlier encouraged me to make an offer on an item, when I did so at check-out,Ms . Sherman's daughter told me that they did not do business that way.(everyone at estate sales does business that way) I did politely make one more request for a different price which caused Ms Sherman to yell that she was going to raise the price. I accept that I antagonized her by continuing to try to bargain, but her reaction was way out of proportion to the situation. She was so threatening that my husband thought we should drop everything and leave immediatley. I did make the purchase ,but Ms. Sherman made a point of refusing to accept my payment. If I had an estate to sell I would use a different service, since this company seems to strongly dislike customers.
Description of Work: Ms Sherman ran an estate sale I attended as a buyer. In contrast to the other people who run estate sales, Ms Herman was surprisingly abrasive, loud, and purporteded to be angry that I attempted to negotiate the price. As I left the sale, another customer said she had the same experience.

Unprofessional, unethical, unbalanced.
Description of Work: Visited a sale, hoping to find some items. A gentleman in front of me was looking at teacups I was interested in. Ms. Sherman offered him a better price than what they were marked, and he declined. I stated that I would take them for that price. Ms Sherman said "NO she wont!" I do not know this woman, did not know her, had never been to her sale. I will not go again. I watched her berate a coworker for bringing her a wheat bagel, rather than a marble one. I realized that this was not an environment I wanted to be in. Several other ppl voiced as much, and left. There were no other shoppers.

Diana and her group held an estate sale in Weston, Ma. It was not my sale, but I was one of many buyers who visited on Saturday. They were curt, unprofessional and downright rude and unknown to them, they were overheard making unkind ethnic remarks about some of the buyers. This was overheard by at least two of us. Also, they were very disorganized with one sales assistant giving one set of instructions and the "ladies" who were cashing out buyers getting very riled. They need to get out of this business.

WE WERE PLANNING AN INTERNATIONAL MOVE. WE HAD ARRANGED FOR THE MOVING COMPANY TO COME EARLY JUST TO ACCOMMODATE HER. I LISTENED TO HER TELL ME ONE MINUTE THAT EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN MY HOUSE WAS JUNK AND THE NEXT MINUTE TELL ME NOT TO SELL A SINGLE ITEM TO ANYONE ELSE OR SHE WOULD CANCEL THE SALE. AT HER REQUEST I AGREED TO HOLD A COMBINED SALE OF MY THINGS WITH ANOTHER CLIENT OF HERS AT MY HOUSE IN CHESTNUT HILL. AT THE LAST MINUTE SHE SAID SHE CHANGED HER MIND AND CANCELLED THE SALE LEAVING ME WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF THINGS THAT NEEDED TO BE SOLD. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT HER TO THE REAL ESTATE AGENT WHO RECOMMENDED HER AND TEHY AHVE SAID THEY WILL NEVER REFER HER AGAIN. ID BEEN TOLD SHE WAS RUDE TO PEOPLE BUT PROFESSIONAL. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS ANYTHING BUT PROFESSIONAL.
