And they stand behind all of their work (they have replaced trees that did not look well after 18 months on a few occasions). Their exceptional work is not cheap, but they are worth the investment.

 + -1 moreThis is a great company. I've used them for a number of years. They're extremely professional. They're a little expensive but the quality of work is worth it. They train their people well and the clean up is very good. I prefer they don't use chemicals on my property and they're very good about observing my requests. I left for a cheaper service for a while but I went back because I realized the work I was paying for was so much better.

I didn't want a lot of chemicals on my lawn, I wanted organic and they were very accommodating. They know their business. They come right over when there's a problem.

 + -1 moreThey were out here the whole day. They are professional and they obviously know what they are doing. I am able to use them alone and just let them do their work. I have a fenced in area and I didn't worry about them knocking down the fence or disturbing my neighbors property. When I got home it was all done and everything was cleaned up. I asked them to remove the debris and they took care of it.
Description of Work: They did a lot of pruning and removed some dead trees. They also planted a new tree.

 + 1 moreIt turned out great. They were very responsive, and they had a lot of good suggestions. They gave us advice based on a general idea of what we wanted. They gave us a time line of when things could be done. The winter that they put the plants in was very harsh and killed off a couple of the plants-that spring, they came out without us even calling and found that some of the plants had died, and offered to replace them for us at no charge. It was surprising that only a few plants died at that time, and they have held up very well in the recent years. We were very happy with them.
Description of Work: They did some landscaping work for us, which included new plantings, and extended a brick patio.

 + 0 moreTheir rep was puntual, charming, and informative, spent tons of time with me, and was very informative and forthright with me. However our funds are limited, so we went with a different company.
Description of Work: I met with a very nice representitive from Hartney Greymont for an estimate from both tree work and bed planting. They scheduled a very professional, very informative person for an hour. When I asked for an estimate, because I was collecting bids from a number of AL companies, the rep told me that if you were comparing on price, they would lose. Apparently they are the Neiman Marcus of tree and landscaping and if you need to ask how much it will cost, you don't want to hire them. Apparently people (for whom money is no issue) hire them for their reputation as the gold standard in landscaping and tree care.

 + -1 moreGreg called the day before they came to do the work. He and his crew showed up early and worked straight through the day. They came back the next day to finish. The crew on both days were talented, very polite and incredibly attentive to even the smallest details. All this pruning provided alot of branches and stuff falling into the yard, they cleaned up and chipped everything that fell, as well as stuff that blew down in the storm! They were also so considerate! They were taking down a tree right next to a new spring flower that had just come up and they didn't even trample it! And they moved everything that might have been at risk of being damaged by a falling branch and then moved it back. We asked that they leave the wood as we have a fireplace. The crew cut it to split size for us and even stacked it. They also left the wood chips for us as we asked them to do. The crew was incredibly trained. I just can't come up with enough praise for this company!
Description of Work: Greg and his team pruned a number of very old oak and maple trees in our yard. They additionally took down one tree. Greg came to meet with us on one of the very coldest and awfullest New England prospering days and spent almost an hour walking around the yard with us while we talked about each tree that we felt needed attention. During this time he suggested the best branches to prune, talked with us about choices and took photos so his team would be able to have a map of exactly what work each tree needed. The time and care he took walking around with us was incredible! I felt he really listened to us and cared about keeping the trees healthy versus just cutting them down for whatever reason. The estimate that Greg gave us was expensive but we had the same work down by a different company about 7 years ago and knew it would be at least that much and more. We went with Hartney Greymont because of the quality and detail Greg put into working with us for the estimate.

 + -1 moreI have used them for a number of years already because they are really easy to deal with and they are very prompt as well. The price always varies because it depends on what they do, but it tends to be a little expensive, even though I can't say an approximate price.
Description of Work: They come once a year to feed and spray our trees, mainly Oaks and other plants. I don't know the size of my yard, but it's a medium sized yard.

Description of Work: They cabled up our elm tree and trimmed it and did deep fertilization. They also took care of the mulberry in the back. They did clean-up in the yard on our 1/4 acre lot.

 + -1 moreI have to say this company hires trustworthy and diligent workers. Many years ago I had another company and they did a horrible job and didn't finish the job. This company is really good. They are great with shrub work and they grind everything up for me. They tell you if you cut down the tree they will grind it all down for you. They are not what I would call inexpensive, but they do good work.
Description of Work: This company removed trees for me, pruned trees, and trimmed the shrubs at my more than 1/2 of an acre property.

Description of Work: Asked them to look at a large maple on our property that looks like it has seen better days. Sinclair from Hartney Greymont came out and recommended a fall $240 deep root fertilizer treatment, which would cover 2 years, $2K structural pruning (this winter or next winter), and spraying to protect against winter moths (2 applications of $200 each) in the spring.

 + -1 moreThe arborist that came, Sinclair Weeks, was extremely difficult to deal with. The property line runs roughly through the trees and my neighbor and I wanted an estimate of work for each side. Perhaps this was too challenging, but other arborists did this. Mr. Weeks was unwilling to do this and wanted to give me 1 estimate and told us to decide each price ourselves; this annoyed me, as I'm not an expert and don't know how much work each tree needed. Finally, when I told him we probably wouldn't hire him without some further info, he gave me some percentages of work for each side. Said he'd send an estimate in the mail. That was ten days ago and I still have not received anything. A total waste of my time!

 + -1 moreStop looking, you've found the best! Hartney Greymont has to be the best service provider I've ever worked with, hands down. The staff was professional and approachable, from the time Jim came to our home to survey the property, through clean up and invoicing. The day of the job, both sides of my yard were filled with enormous stumps, dead trees and limbs and by the time they left, there was not a leaf left behind. It was spotless. I've worked with other tree services that left our property in shambles. They were also fascinating to watch and very friendly. They added a small job to the scope of the job and did not charge us for it. They also took the time to give me pruning advice and suggestions for next step improvements, since we are making changes slowly to our property. While they may be a bit more than other service providers, it is well worth it. We have determined our next phase of work already and I look forward to working with them. Look no more!
