They were professional. They were a little more expensive than the other service providers that I looked up.

Their price was a little higher than the company we ended up using.

Three gentlemen arrived on time and completed the work as requested without any damage to surrounding gardens. The trees and shrubs look great. Highly recommend them.

They were on time and very professional. A very friendly group of guys. They did everything promised and cleaned up perfectly. It took a bit longer than expected, but there was no extra charge for the extra hours required for the job. I am pleased with the work and plan to use them again and would easily recommend them.

I found that the representative was more concerned with selling me. I told them it was a competitive bid situation. His cohort was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. He was really concerned about the trees and bushes and whatever disease and pests they might have. I found the main representative in the area to be very arrogant. He gave me a hard time when I said it was a competitive bid. He had an attitude. He asked me who else was being considered. When I told him I didn't choose to disclose that, he told me that he didn't choose to disclose an estimate. I am managing this property for a client of mine and wanted to evaluate a long term game plan for them. I have had other interactions with the company in the past which were very pleasant. They are more expensive than most. I would have preferred to deal with the representative's cohort than to deal with the representative himself. His attitude was not great. He was late getting there. He did call me. I was just barely going to make it on time anyway so it wasn't that big a deal. The estimate was broken down by all the different compartments and I don't recall the amount, but it was in several thousands. It wasn't just a one shot thing. My experience was not great, it was average. The other guy was very professional. I would not consider using them for this job because I don't want to deal with this representative. I would consider using them for other jobs because they can be very good, not only by reputation but by my other past experiences. They can be very expensive. You have to think that their arborous knowledge and expertise is worth it. I did not like that representative's attitude and I would not do business with him again. The company has representatives that cover service areas. The person who covers in the Concord area is very nice. I just didn't like the guy who covered the Newton area. He is young and brash and he thinks he is above it all. I am old and I expect them to treat me with the same level of respect. When I ask for an evaluation and a quote, I share as much information as I choose to when I interact with these guys but I don't have to tell them who their competition is. It was a good sales technique he used when I told him that I didn't choose to discuss completion. He came back with his chippy response. That wasn't appropriate. If they want my business they better give me a quote which he did too. He followed up on it.

Excellent work and service. Friendly and professional. I recommend them highly. They are not inexpensive

Dave Anderson came out. He was knowledgeable thoughtful, and informative. He gave advice regarding the tree removal given that it is in the neighbors yard. I appreciated his knowledge and his helping us to navigate this complicated issue.

Very knowledgeable, gives very good advice and suggestions, work done fast and well. Probably not the cheapest landscape service, but top quality service and products, so all well spent.

Excellent service, very knowledgeable, highly professional. Did everything they said they would do. However, in pricing tree removal from other services, Hartney-Greymont was clearly on the high end. They may be worth it in the way they perform the services--I would have complete confidence in them not to damage other structures or plants--but our own current situation does not put that at a premium.

Happy at every point. Initial review was most comprehensive of five quotes we obtained. Crews were professional, neat, courteous, and competent. We were infested with winter moths last year--none this year. Complete satisfaction.

Fine. They are overall very professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of yard, tree and shrub care. As it is ongoing care, they have not "completed" their services, but so far, I think they are worth their slightly higher fees. I've worked with them through 4+ seasons and my property looks very lush and healthy.

I contacted this company to take down some large trees. I left a message and the gentleman was quick to call me back. I described the work I needed and he was very honest and upfront with me and explained that they did not typically do large tree removal. Not only was he extremely polite but he provided me with a few local reccommendations of other companies for me to contact. I was struck by his professionalism and genuine interest in my hiring the appropriate company for the specific job. As soon as the large "clunkers" are out of the way I will be sure to have Hartney Greymont come to look at my yard and to take care of my trees.

Prices are good, Don't push to do more than we want to. Never felt they wanted to make use spend more than we want to. Conservative approach and they worked.

They are the best. Free estimate and review of all of my trees. Last year my trees were devastated by this, and this year it is already clear that it worked and the mothes are being held at bay. Great communication, very friendly and professional. Won't use anyone else.

We have worked almost exclusively with Jonah at Hartney Greymount--I would highly recommend him. We originally were very unsure about which trees to keep and which to remove as we prepared for a landscaping and hardscaping project. He was very patient with us and we did not feel pressure to remove trees even though of course that would have been a more expensive project. Jonah is extremely knowledgeable about trees and clearly has their interests in mind; he is not a salesperson. He is responsive to phone calls and is always happy to stop by if we have a question about a tree, etc.

They have been doing our work for the last 3 years. They are knowledgeable, efficient, courteous professionals.

We have been using them for many years. The trees are about 30 feet high and they shaped it from all sides. They are very professional and they do a good job. They can be called as the tree surgeons and they are great in this area. They were a small company a year ago. They get a lot of praise and a lot of people know about them. We haven't shopped around to compare their prices but I think their price is competitive.

The workers were very skilled, professional and friendly. They did an excellent job, worked very safely and left everything very clean. One of the workers offered me the option of having the cherry trees cut into firewood to avoid the dump fee. He left the firewood very neatly stacked. The pruning of the Japanese maple in front of my house was very well done. I had many neighbors comment on how good a job they did. One mentioned that a visitor of hers who was a horticulturalist was gushing about what a beautiful job they did. Who knew! Since then I have had them looking after my trees and taking care of my lawn treatment and shrubberies. They are always incredibly professional and friendly. The guy who looks after my lawn leaves little notes with the explanation of service. Like: "today we put down organic fertilizer, it's safe for pets and kids to be on - hope you had a nice walk!" (He passed me walking my dog on his way to my house) Never an unpleasant experience working with them.

Luckily, the fallen branch missed the house, but we needed professional help to clean it up. Hartney Greymont was able to come the next day to clean the branch, and also gave me a quote for some long overdue pruning. We have a steep backyard with no truck access, and the men who came and trimmed out trees did a great job. They even worked in rain! The clean up was great and the trees look good. Good service, and very courteous. I will use them again.

Their price was very high. Apart from that, they were very good. The quality of their work was good. They were responsive, punctual, and professional. I will not use them in the future.

It went well they showed up when they should have.

Derek came promptly to see the job and sent an estimate promptly via email. We were going to on vacation and wanted to be there when the pruning was done and explained our schedule. While we were away the truck arrived to do the pruning. Our good neighbors knew we wanted to be there and explained it to the crew. They then called Davey to explain what had happened. (Don't we all wish we had neighbors like that.)When we returned we called Derek and they came a few days later to do the pruning. They spent more than 2 hours working carefully and cleaning up. The fertilizing had been done previously on their schedule.

Everyone I dealt with at Hartney Greymont was very professional and courteous. I'd called to request that someone come to my home to look at a very overgrown wisteria in my backyard. Greg came out a week later at a time that was convenient to me. He called me about 15 minutes before he was scheduled to arrive to tell me that he'd be about 15 minutes late, which I thought was great. When he got to my house, we walked around the whole yard while he checked out and commented on not only the 2 trees I needed help with, but all the trees in my yard (maples, oaks, crab apple, you name it). He was fabulous - very informative and helpful. That same day he provided me with a written quote for the work we discussed. A week later, I received a call that they'd be coming out the next day to do the work. The workers were there at 8am and they did a fabulous job. The next day Greg stopped by the house to take some "after" pictures (for their "before and after" book) and check in to see if we were satisfied with the work. Originally we'd talked about the workers doing a root-pruning on the wisteria, but they didn't do that (either forgot or Greg forgot to tell them). So Greg grabbed a shovel and did it himself. Hartney Greymont is expensive, but in my opinion they're well worth the price.

Last fall, Sinclair Weeks of HG visited us & made several recommendations regarding our tree trimming needs. It took about 2 weeks to get the written quote, but they did apologize for the delay. We waited til spring & then went ahead, after verifying the quote was still good. We did not hear from them for a few (several?) weeks, until a phone message was left saying they would start that day (which we realized upon getting home after work that night. They finished up the next day, & cleaned up very well (especially in comparison to the roofers we used a few years ago).

They said that they would come back if it rained and they did at no charge to me. They are slightly more expensive than my previous lawn service. I was really impressed by his knowledge. I have a great deal more confidence in them than others. They arrive when they say they are going to arrive. These guys are great.
