All work was done excellently!

Arrived on time (earlier than I expected, actually). Assessed the problem quickly. Offered me a lower cost option and will supply me with an estimate for an upgrade to 200 amp service. Came with all the supplies required for the outlet and lighting switch upgrades. Offered lower cost solutions when opportunity arose. Work was neat and they cleaned up. Understood the problems and solved them. Friendly, professional and efficient team.

Company was extremely responsive to calls. They told me they would be out today, 12/7/2012 between 10 and 12. Called yesterday to confirm and told me looks like it will be closer to 10 or 10:30. He showed up at 10:15... Perfect! The work was all done professionally. I would highly recommend VMA Electric and am happy to say I have found an electrician for any future electrical work I need done. Do not hesitate to call... as far as a service company, this organization is top notch!

Angie's List advertised a $99 Big Deal coupon for VMA Electrical Inc. 81 Maple St Marlboro MA for two hours of electrical work, with additional hours of work at $90 per hour. It seemed like a good price and I used my credit card to purchase the Big Deal. Everything about the service delivery was positive. The owner arrived a bit late due to a truck breakdown (but called ahead to notify me). He was polite and thorough, quickly finishing the work that needed to be done. As mentioned by other reviewers, the one negative was the pricing: there were additional fees added on AFTER the deal was purchased. Despite the prices posted for the Big Deal and for additional hourly labor, when the owner called to schedule the work, he added a base charge of $40 and increased the hourly labor charge from $90 to $110 for work beyond the initial two hours. I didn't want to pursue getting Angie's List to cancel the sale and refund my money, so I agreed to the $40 base charge. I would have still been interested if the deal was initially priced at $140 instead of $99, and I feel like I got my money's worth for the work done. But the point I'm making is that adding fees and changing prices AFTER a service has been purchased is a bad business practice and creates unhappy customers.

After purchase, the company called to schedule a service call. At that time they informed me of an additional charge for travel. If this was disclosed prior to purchasing, I would not have made the transaction - the additional cost would have been equal to my local guy.

It all went well except for the $55 trip fee that was not mentioned at all in The Big Deal I bought. For some crazy reason they are insisting on this fee to the detriment of their reputation. Is it not worth $55 to them to not get a bad reputation? Beware to anyone who bought this Big Deal from them - it is not much of a deal at all if they get you to pay their add on fee!! Update: After reading the company response I agree with most issues, and they were pros and did good work. My only issue was and remains that the $55 fee should have been easily seen and known before I bought it. That is either the fault of the company or Angie's list - whoever is responsible for disclosing all fees. Angie's list seemed to not be aware of the fee so I assume the company did not include it and it seems at best disingenuous of them to not disclose until after I bought. I said yes to go ahead and schedule because AL said they would intervene to try to work it out and so I felt ok letting them come without it being completely resolved first.

I purchased a Big Deal from Angies List for 2 hours of labor for the price of one hour. After purchasing, I received a call from VMA Electric to schedule a time for services to be performed and the work was scheduled for one week out. Victor came to do the work and in the two hours he was able to install a bathroom vent fan and also rewire an open junction box with updated wiring. Victor was very professional and he was able to do both items in the two hours. I am thankful to have VMA Electrical offer this Big Deal and perform this work as I was having no results when searching for electricians on Angies List that would consider doing this job, a small job by some standards but big to me to just get it done. Thank you Victor and I expect to call again when I need electrical services.

He arrived right on schedule and moved very quick. As such, he was able to knock out all of the to dos in less than a few hours. The speed was greatly appreciated. Not only did his speed keep the cost down, but it let me get back to work sooner than anticipated. The quality of the work was also excellent. He did not take any short cuts and did proper wiring. He also took the time to clean up some old wiring and ensure they were safe and out of the way. Further, he made sure to clean up any mess made from the work. Beyond that, he actually gave me some advice and tips for some do it yourself projects I have planned. That was very much appreciated. Though I basically got a deal through one of the Angies List deals (maybe would have been $100 more), I would gladly have paid more for the work and will not hesitate to call VMA again when I have any electrical needs.

VMA Elec arrived at 10:00 AM and the job was completed by 4:00 PM just in time for the halloween surprise..Sandy.

VMA is simply amazing! I was searching thru Angie's list (first time). Reached to VMA electric. Victor was very professional. He was very prompt on the appointment day. Victor came to look at the existing work (prior electrician I had terminated even though I have used him for over 5 years) Victor was well informed in our home automation and all existing systems. He did a through walk thru of the existing conditions and all needed work. After consulting for few minutes I knew he was the company to hire! I received a detailed estimate few days later and the work was started within few days and completed promptly in less than a week. He had six guys at a given time to finish the job (previous electrician would have taken many months). I have used VMA electric for many projects after this project.... project 1: general wiring of lighting fixtures etc. project 2: upgrade to 400 amp service project 3: basement kids room project. project4: Now pending...wiring a generator! Currently I have spent over $40K with VMA simply because Angie's list worked and VMA kept their promise! The guys working for Victor are polite, neat and gives a business owner an amazing reputation. Good luck guys! VMA is simply amazing in there professionalism. It puts a different prospect on professional in the contracting business!. Keep up the great work!

I was most fortunate that they were able to squeeze me in as I had called on short notice. Victor answered the phone, he was professional and the team arrived and were profession and did a wonderful job explaining things. Even did a trial run with the generator, explaining how it worked, and I was able to see my house running on the generator. Victor even called later that night to see how things went and to see if I was happy. He was also most considerate and when he asked how I heard about him, he automatically was going to use the Angie's List coupon - most thoughtful. I will certainly use them again

Very pleased with the results. We had agreed the work and Victor came on time to meet with me to review the project. The lights had to be ordered and once in a date was set for the install. However this was moved back twice due to conflicting projects Victor had. I accepted our project was not time critical and assumed Victor thought the same. He was responsive and works well via email. I have used VMA to place roof snow melting wires and was pleased with the work hence I used him for this project. Victor will be my first choice for future electrical projects.

I have used VMA on an earlier renovation to my family room where he was introduced to me by my contractor (Auburndale Builders, also an excellent company). From that experience i hired Victor directly when i have had other work at my home and for this latest remodeling job. i saw less of Victor on this latest work, but his staff (Peter) are excellent as well and Victor shows up for critical phases of the work. I really do not have any "Don'ts" when it comes to Victor's company. Excellent personnel, excellent electricians, excellent service. i can highly recommendt this company without reservation.

Victor contacted me right away and explained his charges and hours. He offered to do the job at an early morning time convenient for me and my husband because we work full time and don't get a lot of time off. The Friday before the job he contacted me to confirm - something I really appreciated. He sent Peter to my house, who arrived exactly at the time expected at 7 a.m. Peter was very polite, respectful and professional. In fact, after Peter finished replacing the electrical outlet in the garage, we showed him an area inside the house (upstairs by our master bathroom) where we wanted a light switch installed --- he took his shoes off before coming inside our house. I am VERY impressed with this company - the responsiveness and professionalism is superb - and I felt respected --- which is a quality you don't often get. I will definitely use them again in the future!! Thank you Victor!

VMA was punctual, professional, and polite, and they did a fine job. The only reasons I didn't give them an A overall is the hourly rate that appeared on the bill I received after they completed their service was slightly higher than the hourly rate they quoted me on the phone. Otherwise, it was a positive experience...

This was done in a day, though being outside work we had a to change to date for the work a few time due to weather.

The Electrician arrived exactly at the time I was given and immediately got to work after a walk through and discussion of what was needed. Throughout the project he explained what he was doing and the challenges encountered (old house), working with me on the best solution. He was very thorough, and conscientious not only about his work but about cleaning up after, including vacuuming the second floor landing and stairs (!!). One of the most personable and professional service contractors I have encountered... The job took longer than anticipated and he gladly stayed the entire day (late on a Friday!) to finish. I will only use VMA for electric work going forward.

Reasonable price and very professional. Had a little problem getting appt scheduled, but the work got done.

They were fabulous. The first day he came and gave an estimate and he was exactly on time even though we had a lot of snow. He came into our house and took his shoes off because he didn?t want to mess up our floors; that totally impressed me! He told us when he could do our work but someone else canceled so he was able to come earlier. They were done within three days. They showed up on time every day and they were really amazing. They were reasonable, they were very knowledgeable, and they did great work.

The original appointment was for 12, but he called at 11am to say that he was running behind and could he come a little later. We were able to work out a time for later that afternoon that was convenient for me and he showed up promptly at the time we agreed upon. He did the work in the estimated time frame and within the estimated price that was given to me. I had called three electricians in Marlborough and VMA came in the lowest.
