Communication was almost non-existent. We would be waiting at least 24 hours to hear back from him, sometimes not at all. Our real estate agent even contacted him herself with how frustrated we were getting not having an explanation of what we were signing. She had to get him to send us details because he wouldn't (or just didn't) provide a breakdown of the exact charges we were paying and what our mothly payments would be. Originally he told us it would be roughly $1200 a month for our mortgage, but then the paperwork showed it would be almost the same as we are paying for monthly rent right now (we are paying $1450). He did not explain why the paperwork said something totally different than what he quote, he just sent it to us and figured we wouldn't look at it, I think. I emailed him asking him questions and it took a day and a half for him to get back to me, and even then, he called when I was at work. The questions could have easily been answered by taking five minutes to type a response which he never did. All of this stuff almost had me in tears. My husband and I are both stressed to the max at this point, and it shouldn't be this hard. I'm sorry, I'm not signing something without having the details. We can't change the law, but we sure have the right to know what it all means so we don't get in to trouble. And we have the right to know what we would be paying and why. After over 25 years in the customer service industry, I have found that communication is the key to keeping your guests. Jeff needs to take some customer service courses because he seems to know very little about it no matter how many years he's been in the industry. Either that, or he needs to only work with people who have had mortgage's before. We asked our real estate agent for a recommendation, and went with Darla from America's Mortgage Resource. With her we didn't have to wait a couple of days for paperwork, or an answer to any questions. We had an answer within the first half hour of talking to her and the paperwork in our email addresses within hours. THAT is customer service. Already she's taking some fo the stress off us and we expect to have the final paperwork by tomorrow. I had competitive quotes from other carriers and went back to them, but because it was such short notice, they couldn't honor the prices or promise they could help me. We finally did find a carrier that promised that they could get us loaded before the 25th of June, but the cost was over $1,250 dollars higher. I called Karen Morrow back and asked her to take responsibility for my $1250.00 loss that was a direct result of North American's failure to meet it's contractual responsibility. She flatly refused and offered no help what-so-ever. I sent a confirmation letter of our telephone conversation and I sent a copy to the President of NA Van Lines. I received a call from the Presidents assistant on June 30th.
