"I had them do some siding repair on two outbuildings (a shop and shed). I also had them do some drywall repair and recaulking of two bathtubs. I'll start with the siding. It was fine for the most part, but initially they did not have the new siding go far enough down the side of the building. I pointed this out and they said it went down to the slab (on the shop). But it was clear that it didn't match the end corners (those went down further). Moreover, on the shed, the siding did not go far enough down on 3 of the 4 sides. Anyway, they fixed it and added more siding. It looks fine now, but the fact that I had to point this out was annoying. If I had not pushed to have that done, this would have caused problems later for those two outbuildings. The bottom of the *interior* of the buildings would eventually rot because they would have not been protected. The point of siding is too prevent that type of damage to the interior. The drywall repair was fine, so I'll move onto the recaulking of the tubs. I clearly said to RE-caulk both tubs. What they actually did was to put more caulk *over* the old caulk (which has mildew stains on it). W**!? This is not at all correct. This is incompetence. This is extremely infuriating because I am trying to get the house ready to sell, now I have to deal with this. Do not use these people."

Many people choose to paint the walls first for a few reasons. First, it can provide a sense of accomplishment and motivation to tackle the rest of the room. Painting over wallpaper is an efficient way to cover it if it’s in decent shape. Before painting over wallpaper, make sure the surface is clean and smooth. You may have to remove minor problem areas, such as lifted seams or small peels, with a sheetrock knife or putty knife. Add a latex- or oil-based primer to keep moisture at bay before painting. You’ll likely need two coats of paint to cover the area.

With a protective top coat, fiberglass door paint will last two or more years. Sometimes, this life span can be even shorter depending on what elements the door is exposed to. Conditions like heavy rain and snowfall don’t usually cause issues, but high temperatures and direct sunlight can quickly lead to cracking and bubbling.
