Another company had installed the system improperly, and it had been running intermittently ever since. Now the toilet is quiet and works great, and with the high-quality Rheem water heater they installed, we never run out of hot water. We will be using and recommending Bob's Plumbing from now on. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good. 

While the part of the garbage disposal that attaches to the sink is universal, not every single disposal will work in every sink cabinet. If the pipes under your sink are arranged in an unusual way, it may be difficult to put in a bigger disposal, even if there technically is enough space.

In some cases, it’s more cost-effective in the long run to replace a garbage disposal, but it depends on the specific issue you’re having and the age of your disposal. You should ask a garbage disposal repair tech for a quote to repair your appliance and then see if it would be more worthwhile to replace it. Additionally, garbage disposals last for around 15 years, so if you know your appliance is reaching that age, it’s likely better to pay for a new garbage disposal rather than sink money into repairs.
