"Doug Doucet came to repair our gutters. We trusted him to give us good service and a fair price. He did not clean out the gutters, they were still packed with leaves and debris after he left. After paying him $800, we then had to pay a carpenter to complete the work that he did not do. He also spent more time trying to repair one of the box miters instead of just putting a new one. It looked horrible! We had to get a carpenter to take it off and put a new one on, again having to pay him for what Doug should have done. AND, when we called him to tell him he should have put a new box miter, he said he didn't have one with him, but he could come back and charge us another $50!!!!!!"

One of the biggest causes of gutter leaks is clogged gutters. If your gutters are full of debris and leaves, water will back up and eventually overflow outside of the gutter. Whether you need to remove your home's gutters before installing a drip edge depends entirely on their installation. In most cases, you can work around the gutters and not have to remove them. This process is straightforward because the drip edge should extend past the back edge of the gutter. However, if your gutter placements are high on the fascia, you may have to take them down to install the drip edge properly. 

It’s technically possible to remove some soffit material without removing your gutters, but it’s usually a good idea to remove gutters, fascia, and soffit and then reinstall them in the opposite order. Replacing soffits without removing gutters is likely to leave you with a less professional and clean appearance, and you’re more likely to do damage to your gutters and fascia boards in the process.
