"Alan was very flexible and easy to deal with.  He's very knowledgeable in many areas of home building and patiently answered my questions that included much more than spray foam.  I plan to add insulation in my home attic as well as solar.  He spent a lot of time offering suggestions and explaining in detail his reasoning for each.

Concerning the spray foam insulation, I have a hobby building that was initially insulated with reflective bubble wrap.  With time (9 years), it became very dry and flaky and broke off in huge sections.  I tried to tape it back up but because it flaked so much the tape fell off after a few weeks.  I considered replacing it with spray foam insulation but was concerned about its effect on the environment and my health.  After searching the internet and relying on Alan's expertise, I became pretty convinced that once dried, it was relatively safe.  Compared to the bubble wrap, it was also a  more permanent solution.  Alan also offered that spraying a depth of 2" would add solidity to the structure.

Initially, he estimated that it would take 1 day to complete but the spray gun didn't cooperate so he had to come back a second time. On both days, he showed up when promised.  Spray foam is sticky and messy and he had a lot of cleanup.  There were sections that I told him not to worry about that I now wish I had him remove (top of framing) but I've been able to work around it.

Overall, I had a very good experience with D & A; Alan specifically.  In the future, I plan to add more insulation to my attic and get my air ducts cleaned...I will call D & A to do the job.

"Chad Morrow contacted me after I requested a quote on Angi. He was very personable, professional and easy to work with. He provided a timely quote and only required a minimal down payment to secure a start date. His crew was very polite and did outstanding work. Chad visited the site twice during the week long project to make sure we were satisfied. I was impressed that Morrow Builders took the job as it was a relatively small project, though it did require demo, electrical, drywall, paint and carpentry. I highly recommend Morrow Builders as a trustworthy contractor that does excellent work."

It can, especially with the rising popularity of treehouses that go beyond the ones designed for kids. Adults can now use them as office spaces, yoga studios, or quiet treetop retreats. That said, a treehouse can appeal to families with children or adults who might want to convert it into a space of their own. Depending on the buyer, they may be willing to pay extra for the unique feature.

Whether a prefab home is worth it or not will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Overall, prefab homes tend to cost less than traditional homes, although they also tend to have lower resale values. Another thing to consider is that prefab homes usually last 50 to 60 years or longer, while traditional homes last 50 to 100 years or more.

Whether it is better to buy or build a chicken coop depends on your priorities, primarily cost versus time and effort. Building your own chicken coop can be significantly more budget-friendly, often costing about half as much as buying a pre-made one. If you have the time and skills, building a coop from scratch is the most economical option. However, if your time or skills are limited, buying a kit and hiring a handyperson to assemble it can be more cost-effective than hiring a carpenter to build a custom coop from scratch. If you want a perfectly constructed coop without sacrificing your own time and energy, buying one is the easiest choice.

Whether you should choose a flat roof or a sloped roof depends on your particular situation. Flat roofs tend to be less expensive to install. However, sloped roofs have longer lifespans and stand up better to heavy snow and other inclement weather.

Keep in mind that even a flat roof needs to have a slight slope, usually around 1/2 inch for every foot. If it is completely flat, water will pool and cause damage, either from weight or leakage or rot.

The term “cottage” is subjective, so there’s no rigid definition, but it generally refers to a small home with simple and purposeful architecture that embraces nature and focuses on charm over everything else. Cottages are typically 1 or 1 1/2-stories tall, usually with gabled roofs, and are built out of natural materials that help make the structure a part of the surrounding nature rather than something that stands out from it. A big part of what makes a cottage a cottage is the decor, which includes natural materials from the nearby area.
