"Don and his crew did a fantastic job renovating the old landscaping in both my front and back yards as well as adding underground drainage on both sides of my home. They also did some repairs on my irrigation system."

"Brad and his crew did a great job landscaping my long overgrown uneven yard. They removed all weeds, dug up old bushes, leveled the yard, planted 7 pallets of sod. They watered and fertilized all plantings, including things I had planted myself. This was a fairly large project and all expectations were more than met. After they were finished they left everything clean and ready for me to enjoy my new yard. I'm remodeling a home that has many projects and have dealt with lots of contractors in the last few months, there is a lot of dishonesty out there, so when I find someone, like Brad who is honest and hard-workering, and doesn't upcharge me because of the street I live on, well I just can't say enough nice things. Will definitely use them for future projects."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Monkey grass isn’t too picky when it comes to light conditions: It needs sun but prefers partial shade. While it can tolerate full sun, it thrives in environments with partial shade (around four to six hours of sunlight per day). The black mondo grass variety is the most tolerant of heat from direct sunlight.

A rock garden can last indefinitely as long as you properly maintain it. Whether solely made of rocks or with greenery incorporated, they generally last a while, though it may vary based on your climate.

The cost to plant a small tree or sapling is between $100 and $300 on average, if you hire a professional. Big trees will cost more and usually require the work of a specialist, so expect to pay over $1,000 for those.

Consulting your local university extension, Audubon society, or municipal urban forestry program are all good ideas when choosing a tree to plant. You can also ask an arborist or a knowledgeable landscaping company for advice on good trees to plant.

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.
