UNITED BILT HOMES

I am in the process of practically rebuilding the house that United Bilt Homes built for me because the house was constructed on a lot that had not been graded and therefore had no drainage, Even though the salesman was told that the lot had not been graded, his response was that it was better to build the house on undisturbed ground. Now 12 years later after water had been collecting under my house all this time, the floors have started to rot from underneath and the house is literally sinking into the ground. Because of the problem with the water, the house has been settling unevenly causing two ot the windows to break and the plumming to break loose. In the process of remodeling my kitchen, irregularites in the electrical system were discovered. I tried on several occasions while the house was still under warranty to get some one from United Bilt Homes to come to my house and see what was happening to the floor and offer me some solutions, but no one ever came.
I am now having to spend as much in repairs and remodeling as it cost me to build the house in the first place just to make it livable. I can only warn future home builders to stay away from this outfit as they are only interested in getting their money and not in customer satifaction or building a quality probuct.

Things started out pretty good, building supplies were delivered the second week of June, Building supplies were just thrown around on the property, doors & windows were laid in mud along with the lumber. Very little were covered so they were exposed to the elements in South Louisiana. The rains came & everything got soaking wet. The plywood sheeting immediately started swelling. I complained on a weekly basis about the building supplies & when were they going to start construction. June, July, August & finally September they started building. They had one old man doing the framing of the house & he moved slower then a snail. He did a good job on the framing but half way through the build he walked off the job. It took them a month to find another carpenter. They did nothing in the month of October & then in November they had another carpenter come to finish the framing. Some work was done in December but very little towards the completion. Here it is April & still no house.
