Everything went really well.  Gregory was very responsive and gave me plenty of updates on the status of the restoration.  Gregory came and picked up the table and also dropped it off.  Very kind, very courteous and excellent craftsmanship.

I inherited a huge, heavily carved antique walnut buffet deux corps that had been in storage for some time.  The finish was old and tired and the piece reeked of mildew with some mold visible inside the cabinet. I contacted Greg Dunbar to give me an estimate on making it usable again.  When he came out for the estimate I found him to be professional and knowledgeable about the work to be done so I gave him the job.  Pickup of the piece and re-delivery were both handled carefully.  The buffet now looks great.  The finish glows and there is no trace of mold or mildew. I was very pleased with his work and would hire him again. 

I called Superior Restoration Specializing in Antique Furniture and the phone was answered promptly.  I spoke to Greg and after sending him a text message with a photo of the job to be done.  He quoted me a price a short time later.  The job was for him to strip a ladder back chair that had been painted very heavily with artist's acrylic paint.
I've done plenty of furniture restoration myself and as a fine artist, my standards are pretty high.  The job done was excellent and for the
price I was extremely pleased to have someone else do the nasty work for me. I was told that the job would take about a week which I felt was more than a reasonable timeframe, but 2 days after Greg picked up my chair he called to let me know it was ready.  He said he would be in the neighborhood at 10:30 in the morning, but I had another appointment at that time.  He was agreeable to allowing me to leave payment in an envelope for him and he would drop off the chair.  As chance happened he was running a bit early and I was a bit late so we met and I was able to inspect the chair.  I can't say enough about the professionalism and quality of his work.  I highly recommend

Gregory was very responsive and called me back within a day to schedule a time to come to my home a look at the furniture. He arrived on time, gave us a quote and took away the furniture the next day. Unlike others that I called, a fee for pick-up was not charged. I received the furniture a week later and he was very flexible in arranging a delivery time.



The service was very professional and much faster than I had expected. The work done looks wonderful and I would definitely recommend his work to anyone needing furniture repair.

Excellent! The tables in question are very special. They are hinged to open to double their size. The hinges are steel and completely inset so that there is little or no "gap" in the hinged seam when they are open. One of the tables in particular was badly damaged when someone was moving the table. The wood around one of the hinges was completely torn from the table and the hinge was hopelessly bent. Mr. Dunbar came to our office to assess the work needed and took a photo of the hinges needed to repair the table. He was very professional, well-dressed, courteous. He stayed in touch with me as he searched for the hinges on-line. He found the hinges, quoted the work, picked up the damaged table and two more that needed improvement. He estimated two weeks, and met that deadline. The work is impeccable. The repair of the area where the wood had been ripped from the table was imperceptible. Could not be happier.

By the way, Mr. Dunbar provided numerous references, each of whom we contacted. Among them were two highly respected antique dealers in BAton Rouge who refer their work to Mr. Dunbar.
