Auto Body Work
Very well. My vehicle was not going to be ready until after I left town - Mark was kind enough to drop off my vehicle at the dealership for the quarterly service check. Because of his kindness, my vehicle was ready when I got back in town - both collision repair and service check all while I was out of town. Really appreciate that extra support from them.

Auto Body Work
Very pleased with the repairs. Repaint excellent. No issues as yet with workmanship, and work guaranteed for as long as I own the car.

Auto Body Work
Replaced door panel, front headlight and scratches on rear door hit by deer. It was a fairly good job but left some kind of glue or paint on my steering wheel and one other spot inside car that won't come off. Took longer than promised

Auto Body Work
Southern Collision worked with the insurance adjuster and kept me very informed as to what was being done and when work would be completed. Lawrence was especially helpful when the adjuster had to reassess the damage once the cosmetic work was done. The work was completed in a timely manner and the outcome was excellent. I especially want to note that when I picked up my car, I noticed an area on my truck that looked like a chemical had been dropped and left multiple small circles that ate throught the paint. I called Southern and spoke again with Lawrence who referred me to the owner, Mark. After meeting with Mark, and showing him the area, he agreed to correct and repaint the area and also paid for me a rental until the work was completed. My experience with Southern Collision has been very positive. The staff is professional and it seems they work very hard to satisfy their customers. I would most definitely use their service again (if needed) and would recommend them highly!

Auto Body Work
I was in a minor car accident (back bumper hit) and the other woman's insurance covered the claim. Southern Collision was one of the approved providers who offered a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car, so I went with them.
The rental car company is a few doors down, so that was convenient in terms of the rental and coordinating drop off/pick up. My biggest complaint with Southern Collision is that they were disorganized and did not comunicate properly. My car was not ready on time, which is not that big of a deal if you're kept abreast of the situation. When a simple bumper replacement becomes a prolonged affair, I'm pretty disappointed.
The estimate was done on the car the day after I dropped it off. Ostensibly, this was supposed to be a and quot;quick fix.and quot; I appreciated that they were thorough (they ultimately recommended replacing all 3 parts of the bumper, even though they had initially recommended just two). I was told my car would be ready on a Monday morning, but not to pick it up until after I received a call. I never received an update, so I called to check in. It took hours for my phone call to be returned, even though the person answering the phone was going to check with someone and call right back. On Monday I was told that the part had just arrived that morning and would be ready by the end of the day, or by Tuesday morning. I was again told not to pick it up until I received a call. I did not receive any update on Monday. On Tuesday, I waited for hours to be called. I called back and was met with a very rude response. The same excuses were given about the part coming in on Monday morning (which, of course, did not explain why they had not taken any steps yet to put the part ON the car). I was initially told the car would be ready by the next morning. I said that was unacceptable because it was supposed to be ready on Monday morning. I got the run around and the phone clerk was horribly rude, insensitive, and impatient. All I wanted was an honest response so I could plan my life instead of being anxious about fitting this into my day. The clerk ultimately told me that it would be ready by the end of Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
I asked if I could receive a call in advance of the car being done (say, 30 minutes) so I could travel to pick it up. I was told no, that I would be called when it was done. This was 2 pm and they close at 5 pm, which infuriated me and caused me to worry I'd be responsible for the next day of car rental if I didn't pick up the car on time (despite the fact that I was clearly going to receive less than an hour's notice). I didn't get a call before the end of Tuesday. I would have loved an update -- and quot;we didn't get to your car, but we're working on it, apologize, and it'll be done on x date at y time.and quot;
My car was ready on Wednesday around noon. Granted, this is not a horrible time to wait, but it was a very, very, very simple bumper repair with no underlying damage. The customer service was awful and communication was horrible. I received a phone call apology that morning from someone (with some authority?) but it was too late.
If you work from 8 to 5, keep in mind that their hours are 8 to 5, that you'll have little to no warning on when your car will be ready, and that you'll have to plan accordingly. The bumper matches my paint color and looks great, but I expected it to for such a simple fix.
I had asked repeatedly about using genuine Volkswagen parts on my car and was told that they did use them. Upon pickup, I was provided with a and quot;preliminary estimateand quot; that was printed the day I retrieved the car (1/30/13). It says and quot;vehicle may have hidden damage.and quot; WHAT? That's why you inspected the car! To CORRECT the damage! The subsequent page says and quot;this estimate has been prepared based on the use of crash parts supplied by a source other than the manufacturer of your motor vehicle.and quot; WHAT? You told me the part took forever because Volkswagen sent it late.
I have no clue how much the repair costed because I didn't cover it, but this and quot;preliminary estimateand quot; clearly low-balls the figure and uses non-manufacturer parts. Lord knows what they actually put on my car. There is such a lack of communication and misinformation, I would recommend against taking your car here!
