RJ Jenkins Granite & Marble

Initially I contacted rjjenkins based on a recommendation ( did not search Angie’s list-mistake) to install new quartz countertops in 3 bathrooms in a newly purchased home. I dealt with the office manager who was very nice, picked out the quartz and got a quote. Randy came to measure. Countertops were installed after a slight delay and workmanship was just OK, not greAt. A month or so later when I bought a new walk-in tub for my husband, I called them to try to match the counters and to install the quartz on the tub surround and backsplash. That’s where things fell apart. Couldn’t match the quartz without buying another whole slab but I agreed to use a remnant if marble they had on the yard. Randy and I talked about price and he said he would do it for the price I wanted, if I would pay up front. I agreed—a BIG mistake. Randy came to measure and said his folks would do it job and even straighten out the frame which had been poorly constructed by the bath tub folks. It took a long time for the installer to show up and when he did he had 4”, not 12” backsplash. I said no and refused them. Other part of surround was installed, sort of. It is now about 6 months later and I still have no backsplash. I have called, mostly gotten no answer. I have gone to showroom multiple times only to have Randy get very defensive and downright rude, basically saying they were too busy and he’d do it eventuslly, maybe. I finally agreed to a tile backsplash that the manager said had arrived two months ago but no installation yet. I would not recommend this business to anyone. It was a huge mistake to pay for bath surround up front. Really stupid of me. I can’t believe he can stay in business.

Horrible! I waited a week after paying for the granite (yes, I know big mistake). I called Randy said his people would come install the granite on Thursday (10-14-10). NO SHOW. Friday (10-15-10). NO SHOW. The entire time I had to keep rescheduling the tile man. Finally after visiting the business several times because they don't answer the phone (half the time) and do not return phone calls. On Monday (10-18-10) his men showed up with only the piece of counter top. When asked where was the other piece installer stated that he didn't know anything about it and left. Tuesday(10-19-10) after paying the business another visit, the installer came placed the piece where it went and left (without installing it). After leaving messages for Randy (who did not call back), the installer came that afternoon and installed the piece and hooked up the sink. Unless you want to test your patience, I would stay far away from R.J. Jenkins Granite& Marble!

We purchased some granite slabs from a private individual. Randy arranged to have them picked up and stored at his shop for future use. It was several months until we were ready to have the first (of many) countertops constructed and installed. Randy was quick to schedule an appointment to take measurements and was able to work with our very tight time frame for having our guest bath ready for guests arriving within days. His crew actually arrived a day earlier than scheduled and did a flawless job of installing their finished product. We are looking forward to having Randy completing the other projects we have planned for the future.

He did a good job for me. I did not spend a lot on the other services he provided.
