Exterior Painting
Paul is truly a professional painter. He has masterful control of his brush, and his skill as a painter becomes dramatically apparent when viewing his finished work. While the results are impressive, it is how he acheives them that is also an important part of the story. When I paint, I spend more time preparing the site and cleaning it up than I do actually painting. I get paint all over myself and everything around me in the process. My results will be OK, but not great. But Paul doesn't need masking tape and drop cloths, and he doesn't need to remove and resinstall all the attachments and hardware that should not be painted. He so skillfully paints around the attachments and hardware that it honestly appears that he removed them first. Masking tape and straight-edge guides are not needed because his hand is very steady and accurate. Drop cloths are not needed because he doesn't spill or splatter. He doesn't even get paint on himself or his clothes. That skill saves a lot of time for him and money for you. He also has a very pleasant and easy-going personality. He's reliable, punctual and trustworthy. My wife and I were both very comfortable having him around all day and leaving the house to him while we were gone. Because we went out of town before he could finish the final day's work, we paid him in full before the completion of the job and he dutifully returned to finish all the last details. And speaking of money, his price was dramatically lower than the estimate we got from another painter. We have a bunch of potted plants around the house, so we moved most of them out of the way before Paul arrived the first day. My wife is a gardener and is particular about her plants, but we suffered no casualties or injuries during the job. My wife and I were originally thinking of doing all the painting ourselves, but I am so glad we didn't. We would need 3 times longer to achieve a mediocre result, and we still would have spent a lot of money on the paint and supplies and suffered through the whole process. Next time, I won't even have to think about it -- I'm calling Paul.
