The estimator was very helpful, friendly, and informative. He estimated an overall weight of 5500 lbs, and the actual weight was 5200 lbs, so I ended up paying less than the original estimate. The only reason they get a B for professionalism is that they didn't provide much written information at the time of the estimate, while other companies (United, Two Men and a Truck) had a packet containing rules and regulations about the move. This caused a little misgiving on my part since the usual pamphlets say "you should get this pamphlet from your mover," but positive reviews on Angie's List and the fact that the estimator was up front about gotchas (their insurance doesn't cover damage to packed items if the items were self-packed) gave me a better feeling about them overall. Their office personnel, the estimator, and movers were all professional, helpful, and friendly throughout the process. They were willing to answer my many questions about moving.

The movers arrived within the stated window, worked continuously and were careful wrapping furniture. The driver was a seasoned mover, and did a good job of assigning his partners (different ones at load and unload) tasks that were within their limits. As far as I could tell, everything arrived in good condition. The movers did an excellent job of packing my storage unit and were communicative while in transit.

I'd use them again.

The person of the phone was professional and extremely helpful. The moving team was always polite and worked hard. I am completely happy with the work they did.

Having lived in my house for over 40 years I had a monumental task trying to discard and prepare for the move. I moved from Denham Springs, LA to Cypress, TX. My team was headed by Calvin Eldridge and I could not have been happier. I had met Calvin and his team when my neighbor moved 2 years ago and I was familiar with their work. They arrived on time on Monday morning and began packing my goods. They packed for 2 days and began loading on Tuesday afternoon. They left our beds, a table and a couple of chairs until the last to be loaded on Wednesday. Loading was completed around 1PM on Wednesday and my goods were delivered on time Friday morning in Texas. The crew unloaded everything, placed it where I wanted it and installed and put together any furniture that had to be dismantled for the move. Everything went beautifully and although I am still unpacking some boxes I have not found anything broken or damaged. I have some very old antique furniture that I was worried about making the trip but it moved without a problem. I would highly recommend Read-Perkins (Atlas Van Lines) to anyone needing to move. I am extremely satisfied with my decision to go with the Read-Perkins (Atlas Van Lines) organization. You guys ROCK!
Ronnie Huey their representative that came out and did the estimate was very accurate in my weight. I actually weighed a little less than the original estimate.
They were not the cheapest bid I received but they certainly were well worth the money I spent.

We used this Atlas provider for a large [6000 sq foot house] move from Baton Rouge to South Carolina and we could not have been more pleased. We had very expensive and fragile items that were cared for well. We had no damage! In particular, the packers and our Driver [Justin] were just great. We would use them again without hesitation. The subs that came out and crated our paintings and fixtures did a great job as well.

It was a relocation move for another job. The company paid for the move. It went well. They packed and loaded it. Nothing was dinged and they did a good job. We talked to them before and after the move. They were professional.
