Don Proctor's work team was the best I have ever had in my home.
--Mr. Proctor responded to me on a holiday weekend. He made a timely appointment for the next week. He came himself to look at the home, the original system, confirm the need for replacement, take information and square footage regarding needed system requirements, took into account high ceilings in his calculations for system size and needed size of return air, listened to us regarding what we had noticed over the years with the current system tonnage. His check list of materials, specific installation services, specific methods of installation and monitoring for different areas of the system--very complete. Mr. Proctor is focused, and though our questions were all over the place, he stayed steady and got us through, one thing at a time.
--Mr. Proctor and his team made a very timely appointment for the replacement. There was plenty of help, they worked non stop though I offered them lunch, finished the removal of the old system and installation of the new system by end of day. A timely follow up appointment was made for change out of thermostat, larger return air, and double check of system operation. That was accomplished in less than a morning's time.
--Price was very fair (our house is medium size, less than 1800 sq feet); warranty, both manufacture and Proctor's AC, were explained and given in writing; they registered the unit warranty with the manufacturer; estimate and receipt reflected all materials and services agreed to beforehand.
--We have experience with the "Big Boy" AC companies in Baton Rouge. The last time we called for one of their 'specials' all they wanted to do is tell me what they recommended to be done, why we needed to sign a service contract with them (on a 25 yr old system), they were unfamiliar with the installation of the older unit....we made up our mind that when the system did go out they would NOT get our business. I will never call anyone but Don Proctor from now on...pays to look for someone who is old school, but knows new school, too. At this point (one week after installation) we are confident we found the right person, team, and business to take care of our AC/Heating needs.
This particular visit had to do with my A/C pan filling with water and the unit just needing an overall cleaning and some fine-tuning. He insisted on coming out on a holiday and charges very fairly for his services.
