"In February and March 2015 we provided design services and estimates ONLY for a residence at this address. Our client was NOT, however, the person who has written this review. (We do not know nor have we ever heard from the person who wrote this review.) A moderate fee (NOT the cost listed above) was charged to our client for our design services, as per our agreement, but we provided no construction work at this address. If any construction of this design was performed, it was NOT by this company. We would encourage you to give us a call at 225-754-7612. We are very curious as to who actually performed this construction work reviewed above."
"We appreciate this user’s desire to share their experience here on Angie’s List, however we did not build the project described herein. We have no job file, estimate, drawings, preliminary or built photographs, or invoice of a project done at this address for this amount in the year 2012 - or any other year for that matter. Thanks for the review, but this project is not one we have any record of designing or building."
While concrete is rarely exciting, it is a necessary part of driving into our home. Phil Moser and Associates went above and beyond to not only remove the old cracked driveway, but to address the issues causing the cracks and raised portions, old tree roots. They prepared the soil, put reinforcement bars in the new driveway and in general, paid much attention to detail. Our other estimates did not even address that. They cleaned the areas in front of our neighbors and were respectful of the surrounding property. His crew was respectful, hard-working and truly cared about the workmanship. This is the third or fourth time we have used this firm for landscaping work and each time has been a wonderful experience.
I STRONGLY recommend their services and will use them again. Referral have already been given to those that have seen the finished project.
Thanks - Philip, Joycelin, Martin and all of their crew.
I have been enjoying my own personal oasis you created for me.
10/26/2014 i return to my post to update you on Philip Mosers Associates approach to project/work warrantee! As said above while work was being done Phillip or Martin were on the project at all times. This attention IS NOT GIVEN AFTER THEY RECEIVE THEIR LAST PAYMENT! I contacted Phillip 4 weeks ago advising him that all 13 of the Gardenia's they planted, a butterfly bush, two lillies and now a rose bush has died! During our call he told me that I either 'Over' or 'Under' watered them. Another words it's my Fault! I'm in shock that a Company would accuse its CUSTOMER who paid 30+K dollars of this? He also told me it will cost him over $100 dollars to replace them and I only had a 30 day warrantee! He told me to determine how or why they died he would come by to pull one up to take to his horticulturalist. I have yet to see him! So I did just as he said he would do 'took one to LSU'. LSU was unable to determine exactly why they died and was shocked that 'Philip Moser Associates' would take such a stance? So BEWARE!
"We would first like to recommend that the client re-read the contract agreement that was signed prior to the start of this project on 6-5-14; in doing so I believe it would clear up many of the misrepresentations listed above. Following your contacting us 4 weeks ago, we followed up with not one but two site visits, including photographs of the plants in distress. At the time we were contacted, the request was for advisement about a few specific plants. We did state that in general the quickest way to kill a plant is to over water, and the second is under-watering. At the time of our photographs, on October 6, these plants were clearly suffering from lack of water (bone dry). They do not indicate a laundry list of dead plants, but a few under “drought stress”. We followed up with the client to discuss proper care and watering, including advisement about the drought stressed plants. These comments should at the least lead one to pay attention to his/her project. If no action was taken on the part of the client following our discussion about proper care, it would be our expectation that the drought stressed plants would eventually die. Watering a plant after it has reached the permanent wilt point is not consistent with our view proper care of living materials. Even a low maintenance landscape as was designed is a living thing and requires some care by the homeowner. However, our photographs also indicated that little if any maintenance has been done in the past months since project completion (indicated by the photographed condition of the algae green pool). If this same level of care has been given to the landscape, we would certainly expect issues. For reference, the contract that was signed includes the exact wording “Plant Materials – excluding annuals, perennials, and transplants – are guaranteed for 90 days from the date of installation. This warranty does not include improper or insufficient watering and/or pruning practices by the owner or owner’s representatives, drought, flood, hurricane, chemical damage, or theft.” As a matter of course, we often follow up on projects, replacing plants at no cost and sometimes even before being requested by the client. This project is a unique situation. Despite the client’s satisfaction with every detail at the time of completion (see first review above), we received a significantly delayed and only partial final payment on the contract amount, a reduction of about 10% despite significant adds on the part of the client. Due to not being paid in full, we feel no obligation to continue with this relationship. In spite of that, our due diligence has gone above and beyond what most folks consider reasonable. We believe any reasonable person would agree with this stance. In our 31+ years in business, we have serviced a few thousand customers. Many of these are repeat clients, which speaks volumes to our customer service. In the same 31+ years, I can count on one-hand projects that have gone this way and even despite our best efforts, the relationship just doesn’t work out. At some point, efforts to satisfy become futile. At the time(s) we visited your site, we also followed up with three other recently completed projects that also had gardenias, as this made me wonder if there was a problem with the gardenias themselves. All of which are thriving. Same plants, same source, same soil, same bed preparations, same fertilization, only variable is the client. We have put our heart and soul in this project from design, plant selection, implementation, and follow-through. As with all projects, we have photographs of every step along the way from start to finish and beyond. At some point, the homeowner is expected to take responsibility of his/her finished project and take care of it."
