Our AC unit kept running out of Freon and we had a family member check it out and there ended up being holes in the coils. I called Climate Control and spoke with Kerry. He was able to give me a quote over the phone with me just giving him the part number and he told me it would not be any higher. The service man showed up on time and did great work. It was drizzling that day and he had to work on the unit outside as well as inside. He provided his own shelter and was very courteous about not tracking mud into the house. He was very friendly and answered all of our questions. I had called another AC company and they quoted me almost double but come to find out that was mainly because of the old Freon that was already in our system is not made any more and is expensive to get. The service man told me their price was much cheaper because they removed all of the old Freon in our system and replaced it with the new kind. I would recommend them and will use them again if needed.
I told the owner of Climate Control Heating and air I wanted top of the line systems that would be resonably priced, extremely dependable, and be as quiet as possible.
I now have two builder's grade Luxaire A/C systems in my $500,000 home. So far, one compressor has been replaced, and both system's evaporator coils have been replaced twice. All parts were under warranty, but labor was not.
We have spent over $4000 for labor and freon replacement charges in the past 3 years since we moved in to our home. While Luxaire does offer a labor warranty on their systems, Climate Control did not make us aware of this option at the time of purchase.
Other problems with our systems (so far):
-One outdoor compressor unit had to be re-leveled, after the unit pod sank down in on one side.
-Both return air grills are under sized and are very noisy. We paid extra for Climate Control to design return air plenums that would be less noisy. Instead, both are very noisy.
-Climate Control Heating and Air's response time for after the sale service calls/warranty issued was horribly slow. All of our problems happened during the summer months, so our home was sometimes without A/C for weeks at a time.
Unfortunately, I do not have any positive things to say about this company. I do not use Climate Control Heating and Air for my A/C service, and have instead found that Kelly Scott Heating and Air and Marnix Heating and Air both offer excellent service.
Buyer beware.
"The true reason for this disgruntled negative review is we went to court with Member and he lost. To this day we are still working with his brother (home builder) on several major projects. Member was offered several options for equipment. His educated decision was to purchase top of the line York/Luxaire. This is not builders grade as he stated. The City of Baton Rouge permit office inspected and approved our quality installation. We have no control over: Your lawn (dirt) settling. Equipment mechanical failure. Formicary corrosion. As for the rest of the accusations......UNTRUE."
