After hooking up the drain pipe, the workman informed me that my warranty on the furnace was no good unless I paid them $15+ a month for a and quot;Service Agreement.and quot; The workman who installed the furnance in 2010 never said a thing about the Service Agreement requirement for the warranty - I only find out about this 6 months later? I paid the initial payment to give me time to review the agreement. After reviewing it, I called and cancelled - it didn't cover anything. I would give them $200+ a year for a yearly inspection (where they don't even change the filters) and to get a guaranty that they would come out when I called (they they guaranty a 1 hour response to everyone). I still get calls from them saying they haven't received my monthly payment for the Service Agreement despite my having cancelled it.
Anyway, the long and short of it is that they have questionable sales practices, have shotty work practices and don't offer any value for the prices they charge. I would not/will not use them again.

They did the maintenance and repair as agreed. Prices too high. Estimates too high, I did not need to replace my heater when I got a new system. The breakage a week later may have just been coincidental, but I felt too uncomfortable with their prices and insistance that I needed to replace both heating and air units . My unit was old 14, years old and almost ready to replace.

One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating does good work and comes out very quickly. I've been satisfied with what they do and they are professional.

On a Thursday afternoon, I noticed that the fan in our outside AC unit was not turning. I called One Hour AC and Heat and they had a technician here within the hour. Timing was exceedingly important because we had an 8-week-old baby at the time. The technician did a complete diagnostic of the entire unit and determined that our 28-year-old AC unit was in pretty bad condition. My husband is mechanically inclined and stayed with the technician through most of the diagnostic process. So, when the technician said that the bearings in the fan motor had gone bad, he knew what he meant. The technician told us that the cost of fixing everything that was wrong with the unit would cost ~$1000.00 and it would probably require further maintenance in the not-too-distant future. Not only that, but our unit was so old that finding parts would be an issue. We opted for a new 4-ton outside unit and condenser. We did not require the heater portion of the unit because it had been replaced 5 years ago.
Before leaving, the technician installed a new capacitor free of charge, with the understanding that it would burn out fairly quickly. (When I woke up the next morning to a humid house, sure enough the fan wasn't turning.) He charged us $45.00 for the diagnostics and knowing that we had an infant and time was important, he scheduled an installation crew for the next morning.
The installation crew (two guys) arrived within their one hour window between 9am and 10am. They put a large pad down at the base of the attic stairs and wore bright yellow booties over their shoes when they walked through the house. We'd had rain the day before and the area around the outside unit was extremely muddy, so the fact that they only tracked in a miniscule amount of mud was quite impressive. Most of the work was done in the attic and even though they were right over our heads, they were fairly quiet with my sleeping baby.
The compressor that we purchased came with a lifetime warranty through the company, as long as joined their loyalty program which includes two free tune-ups, safety checks, and cleanings a year and 10% off any repairs. I'm generally wary of loyalty programs that require monthly payments, but I'm also terrible about keeping up with yearly maintenance so we opted for the loyalty program. Now, if it turns out that there's always something wrong when they come for our check-ups and it seems that we're always fixings things with our new unit, I will most certainly report on that.
The fact that they had technician at my house within an hour of first contact and a new unit installed the following day was very important to my husband and I. They delivered on their one-hour promise.

The air conditioner stopped working on a Friday evening -- of course! I checked Angie's List, found Aire-Serve, noted that they are open on weekends, and sent an e-mail off immediately, hoping to hear back by 8:00 or 9:00 the next morning. I received a reply about 6:00 a.m.! The service man came out that day and replaced the capacitor. We purchased an annual service agreement, and they came out a week later to service the a/c. We'll be calling them soon for the heating service.

The tech showed up on time and completed the work efficiently and in a short amount of time, and with very little inconvenience to me. He took care to not track in any dirt from outside, and took the time to explain everything in detail.

Most of the work was in the attic, and they completed everything in one day. Exceedingly courteous, efficient, paid attention to details.....cleaned up and hauled old equipment away.

My A/C was broken and the house was hot. They did a good job of replacing the old system quickly and getting the house cool again. I did not bid out the work but their price was reasonable compared to friends that had similar work done. However, they seem a little disorganized. They lost my financing paperwork and came back two weeks to redo it. The new amount was $13 higher than the agreed amount, but $13 out of $7,000 I just let slide. At that time we discussed finishing up a few items not yet done (remove old condenser unit from back yard, install programmable thermostat, clean ducts). The installer has come by the house a couple times since then to have me sign more paperwork and each time says he'll be back to finish the work, but it is now seven weeks later and still not done. I called today (Thursday) and talked to someone else at One-Hour who says they'll finish this Monday.

They did everything they said they would do in the time line they gave. They didn't make a mess. They had the best warranties on the systems. The gentleman Lee was very knowledgeable. They were one of four bids and they were not the lowest, but they were not the highest.
