They are the polar opposite of high pressure sales and the store is operated like a real jewelry store should be. The people are genuine and put priority to your needs.

I found Elgin's after doing some Angie's List, Google Reviews, and forum research online. Buying an engagement ring can be a stressful process and the first step is knowing where to start. This is especially hard when you're a transplant to the Baton Rouge area. I had no contacts or clue where to begin. I tried (7) stores but let me make it simple START HERE.

I was looking for a sapphire center stone engagement ring with a diamond halo setting. Mr. Elgin himself personally and enthusiastically sourced (5) sapphire stones according to my budget, color preference, and cut/shape. He screened (2) stones out and let me view (3) stones. This process lead to exactly the type of stone I was looking for. His personalized service is unmatched.

In addition, the store has a moderate selection of mountings/settings. Moreover, they are set on producing a stone/mounting package that meets your budget and they are very flexible. Their prices are competitive and fair.

Ultimately, I did not make my purchase here simply because I found an option elsewhere that was slighter more along the line of exactly what I was looking for. I could have certainly elected to go with Elgin's and still received an excellent product, price, and service. Sometimes these things come down to minor details of personal choice. However, i suspect that I will return in the future to purchase other jewelry for others and I will highly recommend this store.
