The only thing I did not like about my refinance was that Assurance Financial sold my loan to Franklin American Mortgage, which has a lousy online payment website, and has received some worrisome negative reviews from customers. Dan would have had nothing to do with who Assurance Financial sold my loan to, so I don't fault him. (At the closing, he thought the loan would probably be sold to Chase or Wells Fargo, either of which would have been fine with me.) Also, a lot of mortgage companies sell to Franklin American, so it's not like you will avoid them by choosing another mortgage company.
