My ac was not blowing air. I called one service company and they could not make it to my house in my desired time frame.  I then called Calvin's Maintenance.  I explained my problem and the receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful.  The service technician showed up quickly and was even nicer.  He was extremely professional and courteous.  He diagnosed the problem in less than 4 minutes and called his office to find replacement part (blower motor).  He quoted me a price of $575 (for labor and materials) and I asked why so much.  He explained that his office told him the motor was old and special and replacement motors just cost this much.  I accepted his answer and quote.  He left to go pick up the motor.  About 30 minutes later he returned with the motor.  While he installing the new motor into the old scroll cage, I noticed the model number on the box.  I then went on the internet to search for that exact motor.  I found the price for a brand new motor to range from $90 to $120 on several websites.  I even called the local dealer who the service technician said they get their motors from and they quoted me around $125.  I then became disappointed at the overall price to replace this motor.  I then called a friend who does AC work in another city and asked how much he would charge to do the same job. He said he would normally charge about $200-300.  I then called the home office of Calvin's and explained that I know I agreed to the quote but am not happy about the high price they were charging me.  I explained that I know a company needs to make money, but this was ridiculous, and asked if he could revise his price to something a little more reasonable.  He said no and was unwilling to negotiate.  I then advised him I would never do business with his company again.  Once again, I totally understand a company has to make money, but for a $100 part and no more than 1 hour of labor, I was totally willing to pay a fair price.  But basically charging $400 for 1 hour labor and profit is, in my opinion, very unfair.  I would like to finish by saying the work was done professionally, and the receptionist and service technician were extremely professional and courteous.  Also, they were very prompt.  The only thing I am complaining about is the high charge and unwillingness of the owner to work with me on the price, once I found out how much a part cost.

Extremely pleased with Calvin's. My freezer went out on a Friday. I contacted several other providers and could not get anyone to come out on a Friday afternoon. Thankfully I called Calvin's and they came out promptly. The scheduler was pleasant and called me promptly to tell me repairman was on the way. The repairman was punctual. He was very friendly and personable. He quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired my refrigerator freezer quite quickly. I am so happy to know what a great job Calvin's Maintenance does so now I will know who to call with all my repairs.

The plumber arrived promptly.  He immediately diagnosed the problem.  He did not have the part in his truck, but he immediately went to the hardware store down the road.  He returned with the part and fixed the toilet in time for me to make an appointment.  As with my previous experiences with this company, I was very satisfied.  The service people are always very cordial and professional.

The work was started on Thurs, 4/10.  It took 3 different visits with 3 different workers to finally remove the old caulk.  I had to resort to placing tape on areas of
caulk that they missed.  And after the 3rd visit, rather than call them back a 4th time, I removed some caulk that they?d missed on the 3rd try. Each time they came back to remove some more caulk, there was moisture trapped behind the caulk resulting in more delays while I placed a space heater in the shower to dry it out over night.

They didn?t have the proper tools so I had to loan them the tools I?ve used.  Instead of vacuuming up all the removed caulk remnants, they used a paint brush to sweep it up but not until they had finished.  Hence, their traffic to/from their truck left a trail of caulk remnants through the house. They didn?t have a shop vac.
Finally, after a week of not being able to use the shower, they finished the new caulk application on 4/18 in about 1 hour.  Because I wanted to use the  best caulk, they mistakenly bought a Dap 3.0 caulk that they had no experience with.  I would?ve used silicon.  Unfortunately, this caulk is extremely difficult to apply and can only be smoothed and/or removed with mineral spirits.  Apparently, they hadn't read the manufacturer's instructions and tried to smooth it with water and their finger.  That made a mess of all the joints because the caulk behaved like glue.  The caulk was all over the shower surround, floor, glass enclosure and threshold carpet. They had to leave to buy some mineral spirits and spent the next 2 -3 hours removing the overage and mess.
After they left, we discovered that they must?ve tried to wash the caulk off of their hands in both of our bathroom lavatories because there were small spots of adhered caulk all over the inside of our lavatories and on the faucet handles.  We also found caulk on our bedroom door handle.

The following is an update based on further communications with Calvins.

I sent the original report to Calvins resulting in an inspection by their General Manager.  He decided to redo the work, removing most of the first applied caulk and recaulking.  They also cleaned off excess caulk from various surfaces. That work was completed 5/2 to my satisfaction.  I?ve updated their scores to reflect this follow-up work & corrected the Use Again from NO to YES.

Calvin promised to be there in the morning, 8-12 and showed at 8:15AM.  Diagnosed the problem and stopped the leak that morning. Part of the drywall needed to be cut out and the area dried, I like Calvin's because they do sheetrock replacement, floating and painting too. So I got the emergency taken care of and a quote for the finished wall repair that I thought was fair and reasonable.
I will use Calvin's Maintenance again.

Very well I must say, the Tech called, then came out to access the situation, a reasonable price was quoted with estimated time frame of completion.  Mr. John and his crew gathered needed equipment and the work begun.   I  was never inconvenienced.  I would be happy to recommend Calvin's to family/friends.
