BUTLER'S ROOFING

It didn’t go so well. We called them up to make a repair, he was really fighting it, and I am not sure that he even did it. He was very antagonistic in challenging me. There was a bit of a communication problem. What decided us to go with him was the estimate cost, it was lower than one other estimate we had. Also, because, he was a minority business owner and we wanted to support him. It turned out okay. He had one group working on the roof and then a different group coming in to finish up. It was very hot, it was summer time and so I know it was miserable working on the roof. Afterwards, we had a rain and a lot of the granules on the roof pieces, came off and plugged out our drain system. So that made me wonder if they were putting on low-grade and we weren’t sure about what that was. I was surprised at that much material coming off the roof. Someone in the business told me it was normal for some of that to come off but it was quite a lot. I guess you get what you pay for. We did call him back because we felt he hadn’t finished the job because there were some minor things. He was very putout that we had called him back to take care of our concerns. The price was what we expected because we check on it before we hire someone. Our roof hasn’t been leaking which is a good thing. He was really challenging me when he had some concerns about the roof, which he had guaranteed for thirty years. He had agreed to put a vent for the chimney and he didn’t do it. He said that he wasn’t going to do it and he wasn’t required to do it. My husband said that he had talked to us specifically that he would take care of it. I found over a hundred roofing nails that I found around the yard, he said they would clean up all of that and take care of it. I contacted him on that and he said we got them all. I am an artist, so I collected them and I used them in my art.
