Bell Mechanical installed an undersized 1.5-3 ton evaporator coil in my home, built in 2021, for a system requiring 4-5 tons. This mismatch led to premature system failure, confirmed by independent HVAC experts, and caused my young son to fall ill, as verified by his pediatrician. The poor installation may cause irreparable damage to the entire HVAC system, potentially costing tens of thousands in repairs, and could devalue my home. Despite this, Bell Mechanical offered only a $300 refund following public complaints, which would only cover the fee they charged to identify the issue I had already reported. Shockingly, the technician placed a big black knife on my kitchen table just before demanding the $300 payment. They misleadingly suggest that only their service maintains warranty validity, while any licensed technician can do so. Their deceptive practices and lack of accountability are unacceptable. Avoid Bell Mechanical at all costs to protect your health, finances, and property.

Our contractor (DSLD) utilized this company to install our HVAC system. We have had constant issues with the system since install and the company has done everything in their effort to give us the runaround on repairs. Our thermostat unit, which is covered under a 5 year warranty through Honeywell, has now stopped working. We contacted Bell and they refused to issue a warranty claim unless we paid them a fee to come and inspect the unit. Their fee is more than the price of the thermostat! This company cares more about their bottom line than customer satisfaction and does not stand behind their work.

Terrible Customer Service! They arrived outside their self-proclaimed 5-hour service window (which was confirmed prior day) and then told me I had to reschedule! Even though I requested escalation to a Supervisor, and was told my call would be passed on - it never happened! After they left, I had trouble with my security system - had to call a Service Technician and his 1st question was: "was anyone up in the attic"? Sure enough - Bell Mechanical Service Tech's partially unplugged my security system!

I have used them several times. Yes, I would use them again. Simply because they installed the system in my house that I bought. My house is less than 2 years old. We built our house, and they installed the unit, the system, and everything. I used them because they are familiar with it. They are the ones who installed it and they are responsible for what ever. I gave them a C for the performance, because of my most recent interaction with them. It was more one particular guy. The guy was in a rush. He came to my house, one thing he was late. Which I understand, because where I live there is still a lot of newer construction. They installed the systems in all those house out there. They are constantly going. From Madisonville to Baton Rouge, you are talking about a 45 or 50 minute time difference. That is how far away it is. So it is understandable, but he came and he told me he had a lot of different houses to do. So he came, he left the truck running. He was supposed to come check out the unit inside, up in the attic, check the coil, and clean. I feel like, I was cutting my grass at the time, I don't believe he even went in the attic. I was outside cutting my grass trying to get that done before it started raining. I didn't even question him. He came, he was there kind of long enough to go into the attic maybe, but I don't think that he did. What really stood out to me is he left his truck running. I understand it's hot outside and everything, and you left the A/C running probably, but you can tell he was in a rush. I don't feel like he did everything, but I didn't stand over and watch him. I just had a feeling he didn't do everything. I think he just cleaned the outside unit, and he was just in and out. Like he checked to make sure my filter was good inside, and I don't think he really went into the attic. So I don't feel like he did a complete job. I had an issue, so they are coming back on Tuesday of next week. I would tell a friend or family member I had a mixed experience with them. The first time I dealt with them it was a different guy, and he came out and did what he had to do, he was real professional, and I was totally satisfied with the work that he did. The last guy, you know how some people are kind of sketchy, he was one of those people. Overall I would say I have had a pretty good experience, overall, up until recently. I can't 100% prove that he didn't do what he was supposed to do, I just feel like he didn't. Overall, I would tell people I had a pretty good experience. The interactions with him were good for the most part. Any concerns that I had, he answered. You know you are only as good as your last job. Across the board, I would say interactions with them have been good. The person that you speak to when you call them out to have something done, I have had a good experience across the board. The issue I have right now, that they are coming out for on Tuesday, they are pretty good. The responsive time is pretty good.

I called Bell Mechanical and told the attendant that I had turned on my air conditioner in late January (early this year!), and like every year, I noticed a initial sour smell from the AC. She said that it was most likely that the unit had accumulated mold or mildew over the winter, and that this is a common problem. I have to agree, because most people whom I know report this problem each year when initially turning on the AC unit. The attendant stated that the preventive maintenance service included cleaning the evaporator coils and pan. The repairman said that cleaning the evaporator coils and pan is not included in the service, despite the fact that I was assured that it would be. So, I paid $125 for a service that I was told would correct my problem, but the repairman said that it was not included and there is really no way to correct the issue without replacing the thermostat. Now, I will need to find someone else to clean my AC unit properly to prevent the annual sour smell when I turn it on again in March or April. I am very disappointed in Bell Mechanical's service, and this is not the first time that I have experienced an issue with their performance.
