Rev. Lionell Anderson was hired on Dec. 9, 2008 to complete repairs on our home in New Orleans, which was damaged due to Hurricane Katrina. Rev. Anderson told us the work would be completed in two months. The walls, plumbing, and electrical work had been done by other contractors. Lionell Anderson was to finish the remaining work, as listed above. We wrote him a check for the initial payment, with a second check due when 50% of the work was completed. He did some of the floors, and some of the trim work, at which time he asked for the second payment. He put very cheap molding in our home, and he always had a reason for not getting the materials I selected. His main reason was that he couldn't find the materials, and he ended up selecting something else. Another reason for not completing the job was that materials had to be ordered and would take three weeks to come in. As I started checking, I found out that he never ordered the materials. I purchased tile for my bathroom, more boxes then needed for the job. When I asked him where the extra boxes were, he said, "I don't know, maybe they were thrown out with the trash". This went on for six months, and we finally gave him a completion date. June 13, 2008 is the date we told him everything had to be completed. He stopped working, and did not finish the job. My husband and I work out of town since Hurricane Katrina. We were not home everyday, and this man did what he wanted to do. He didn't work at our house on a regular schedule, and other than two men he hired to put some of the floors down, he was the only person working in our house. He made sure he got all of the money. He did take our money, materials, and did not complete the job. He lied, throughout the job. He's not reliable and the carpentry work that he did himself, is not the work of a skilled contractor. He should not be allowed to use the work contractor. If you saw the pictures of our home, you would see his unprofessional messy work. The final cost was lower than the original estimate because he did not finish the job.
