It went great. Work was done fast and right. However worker left with old keys that had my gate lock and have not been able to have keys returned to me so still cannot lock my gate. Not happy with this part of service

As promised, the repairman called before coming to our home. The visit was to cost at least $60 for the home visit.
He quickly found the problem, tried a low cost work-around to fix it, but when that didn't work he switched to installing a major new part for the lock -- and that did the trick. That lock now works smooth as anything.
He also lubricated the locks and latches for all three of our home's entry doors and consulted with me about what it would take to repair the locking mechanism on our 30-year-old office desk.
Total cost was $86, i.e. he charged $26 above the $60 home-visit cost. Seems reasonable.

I found American Key and Lock Co. on Angie's List and was very pleased with their service.
It was quick and easy to get a quote and set up an appointment over the phone.
The service man was very nice and professional. He arrived on time and re-keyed the doors without any trouble. The total time was approximately 45 minutes. He provided the number of keys that were asked for before he left.
My only complaint is that a majority of the cost was for them having to drive out to Gonzales. It would have been much cheaper if I had brought the locks in myself to the store, but that would have been very inconvenient.
Overall I was very pleased with American Key and Lock Co; I would use them again and I would recommend them to others.

Showed up on time, was really friendly, really professional. They know what they're doing, too. I've used another pop-ular locksmith service, and I was not happy with that other guy. These guys are great. Very knowledgeable, and even cleaned up the locks and made duplicate keys for us. We need more work done, and will be calling on American again. Our property company is now very loyal to them. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

Lynn Kloss arrived at my home on time today and it was within 3 hours after my phone call requesting service. He introduced himself and went straight to work. He advised me that the dead bolt that I purchased was not as good as the quality of dead bolt my home currently had and it only needed some service and a new key - not a copy of an old worn key. That saved my a lot of money and I will be returning the product to the store for a refund. He re-keyed all 6 exterior door locks and serviced them all. He also adjusted by back door that was sticking and it now opens and closes smoothly. He also made 6 keys for me. The professional friendly service will keep me using him in the future and will also have me referring people to American Key and Lock, especially Lynn Kloss. I would highly recommend this company and recommend asking for Lynn Kloss.

I've used American Key and Lock 3 times now. They answer the phone at 6 AM; they arrive on time and do the work efficiently and expertly. The men are cheerful and courteous. Females need to think about their security when alone in a "helpless" situation. You can feel comfortable and trust the employees of American Key and Lock Co Baton Rouge, LA.

Seemed too busy or other wise occupied. I indicated that I was having a problem with a Baldwin Lock. The person who answered to call just said we do not carry parts for Baldwin locks. When I asked if they could come out and look at the problem he said he would not be able to assist.

My business safe's dial was broken. I called in the afternoon one day, and first thing in the morning their safe expert was there to work on the safe. Quickly and quietly he was able to repair the pins in the dial and fix the safe. And he was clean and professionally dressed. Then he made certain that I could open the safe before he left. And a few days later when I had problems again, he returned to help me. That time I was the problem in getting the safe open. I now have a new locksmith.

My husband and I just moved down from Pennsylvania and we have just closed on a house in the Prairieville area. We felt it was best to get a clean set of keys/locks since we are new to the area and don't know how many others might have keys to the house. I found American Key and Lock LLC on Angie's LIst and saw how many people spoke so highly of them....it helped me to determine to use them because we are so new to the area, we do not know who might be good and who should be avoided! I called and spoke with Brett who told me that Lynn would come out the next day! I was thrilled because it was Easter weekend and I thought I'd have to wait until the holiday weekend was over. Lynn called ahead of time to make sure of the directions to the house, was at the house on time, very self contained (meaning he had everything he needed to change our locks and didn't have to leave to go get something somewhere else!) was professional and extremely personable. He rekeyed 6 locks, made 5 keys, even adjusted a door frame so it would close better and was out of there within 45 minutes! It was a pleasure to have him to the work.

It went fantastic! They were able to come out the day after I called and got all the work done in less than a day. Several of the doors that were difficult to open and close now work beautifully. I don't know what was done, I just know they work great now. The locksmith who did the work was very friendly. He even took away the empty boxes when he was done. The only evidence that he had been there was that our door all worked. I highly recommend them.

The man was really nice and helpful. Noticed the door was crooked and tightened it for me.

I was called and kept up to date on the ETA. The work was done very well. He took all the locks off took them back to his truck, re-keyed the locks, made the extra keys, and replaced the locks. I will call them again.

Lynn arrived as scheduled and performed the work in both an efficient and friendly manner. He combined the new locks with existing hardware to achieve the most professional look.

We recently moved back into a home we had rented out for a few years. The tenants had changed the locks after a family member stole from them. I had 4 different keys and hadn't figured out which key went to which lock. I only knew 1 key worked the back door, so that's the only one I had been using. Called on Friday evening and he was able to come out the next morning. He was very prompt and called shortly before coming to verify his arrival. He asked for all the keys I had and said he'd figure it out. The work was done quickly.
