He showed up the same day. Polite as usual. Took a look at everything and determined that the problem was the thermostat which needed a new battery. Total charge - zero.
Same day service.
Polite, nice as can be.
Patient w/ my anger about the warm air coming out.
Fixed it.
No Charge.
You don't see that kind of service in Baton Rouge very often anymore.
The installation occurred On Wednesday. On Friday morning I noticed water in the bottom of a nearby closet to where the large emergency drip pan was located. I called for help with the information quickly being relayed to Daniel. He returned to my house that same morning. He meticulously checked to see where the leak was originating. He determined that the new pan installed with the new A/C evaporation coil had a split in the rear corner. Goodman was contacted and agreed to the providing a new replacement drip pan. As soon as it was delivered form the Lafayette location, Daniel came and went through the entire process of having to reinstall the original replacement A/C evaporator coil. This required the addition of approximately 23 lbs. of new Freon.
It should be noted that the only money paid was for the original installation of the new replacement A/C evaporator coil and a senior citizens discount had been previously applied. The installation of the replacement drip pan and the re-installation of the replacement A/C evaporator coil were done under the warranty,
I found Daniel Brady to be a very meticulous and professional person to deal with in all respects. He carefully used booties to not bring additional dirt into the house and cleaned up all insulation freed from entering the attic. He was prompt as possible in providing all services. No pressure tactics were present trying to sell me a new heat pump.
I would gladly utilize his ervices again.
"[member name removed]: I completely disagree with how you present what I offered you. You had a gas furnace that was old and OEM parts were hard to find. I did not back down on any pricing. You declined repairs after I spent hours trying to find the parts at supply houses (which I asked you if I had permission to do) and I charged you the diagnostic service charge after you refused to pay my labor to do said work of finding parts. $195 for $40 of parts is average markup likely less when including the time to drive from [member information removed] to Baton Rouge to get parts, go back to [member information removed] and then install the parts. That is not at all unreasonable in my opinion. Maybe the price you were talking about was a new gas furnace, however $2800 for a new gas furnace installed is very reasonable and within market value as well. You searched google and found the parts for $40, but what you don't understand is that I am not just paying for that $40 part, but for my labor, gas, insurance, phones, licenses, office staff, and the list goes on and on and on and we have to make a profit to stay in business to be there if there is a warranty concern. I also spent 2 hours finding the correct part for your furnace not just a universal cheap part on google which may not have been available upon ordering, which many times is the case. This also doesn't address where I offer a 2 year warranty and google part offers 30 days typically. There is also some value in me getting the part that day and being able to return it promptly if there is a warranty problem rather than you having to send it out and have the google company send you a new one. My labor rate is $65 per hour, can you imagine what this cost would have been with one of the big companies in town that are charging flat rate pricing of close to $400 per hour. Did you also know the average company in hvac charges $185-$200 per hour. With that said, I respect the fact that you didn't want to pay for it thinking google cheaper and better, but to say my pricing was out of line is completely absurd. I appreciate the business you have given me in the past and in time I think you will see my pricing is very fair."
I am a returning customer and will be for as long as I live in the company's service area. They have given me ample time to prepare for to have my system replaced which I appreciate. Right now the cost would really hurt, but their honesty has allowed us to prepare for the inevitable (and I know they aren't exaggerating since the AC is original to the house which was constructed in the mid 80's).
One of the best service providers I've had the opportunity to count on!
"Thank you for the wonderful review {member name removed}! It is people like you and the many others on here that I look forward to serving every day and helping out. Thanks again! I'll cross my fingers for you and say a prayer and hopefully the system keeps hanging in there."
