"[Member Name Removed]: I'm astounded and deeply hurt at your outright denial and lies in this review. You and I both know this review you've posted is completely false. You contacted me advising you had several companies out and needed a 4-ton system quote. This is the quote I gave you as per your request because you were not willing to pay for a load calculation. You explained you had an existing 4-ton unit, the other contractors were quoting a 4-ton and by rule of thumb your 1900 square foot house only needed a 4-ton. It was also noted your furnace was only capable of 4-tons of cooling. Which means in order to move to a 5-ton you'd have to replace both heating and cooling which you advised against due to money constraints. The only thing I measured initially were dimensions to install the 4-ton system that you wanted not a 4 hour load calculation. I installed the 4-ton unit and came back 5 times to check the unit, which was working perfectly mechanically although admittedly not cooling below 76° on a 95°+ day. This is when I advised you of the broken ductwork as it previously was connected during my install, but due to the high attic temperatures the duct-tape came loose. Your ductwork was duct taped back together and fixed by you, not by a contractor, as I feel no reputable contractor would duct tape tape it back together again knowing the extreme temp attires face in our attics. My hope at this point was that it wasn't cooling the home as this main duct was dumping most of the air into the attic. At this point I was still unaware of any blueprints or load calculation for your home. On the last trip out (number 5 and all for free) this is when you advised me of blueprints to your house listing a needed 5-ton unit done by the original architect tens of years ago and a square footage of 2400. These were nowhere around until this point, never mentioned or advised by you. I advised you of a 5-ton system plus upgrades being needed at this time to ultimately remedy your cooling needs. You advised me of not having money to do anything at this point. Now, we fast forward 6 months later on the verge of spring 2016 and you call me back out. I, again, advise you of the required repairs, even double check the furnace specs with the manufacturer and even agree to give you a credit for last years install and not make any money doing this upgrade because I do want things to be right even if I know it wasn't my fault. You advise of blue prints again which were not given or mentioned last summer. I ask you about this and You also could not produce any other quotes showing a 5-ton system from any other contractor. I reiterate all the needed changes in that the ductwork needed fixed, ductwork upgraded to handle the 5-ton airflow upgrade, and with blue prints and new square footage a new system would need to be installed. Although I gave you what you wanted in the 4-ton system last year, I quoted you $9000-$10,000 minus the cost of the system I installed last year leaving a bill of less than $4000 (and I recall closer to $3500) for new ductwork, a new 5-ton system that is not only bigger, but also a higher efficient air conditioner than the one you purchased last year. Doing this work at this price would not net me any profit for doing this upgrade, but I was trying to take care of the problems that could have been avoided had you agreed to pay for the load calculation I offered last year. I am sincerely sorry it's not working on extremely hot days, but what do I do when you did not want anything but a 4-ton quote and subsequently an install last year. Daniel Bandy, Owner"
