"The crew was so polite . The project looks great! No matter what I asked them to do they acomplished the task. My house was damaged by woodpeckers and they had to repair that damage before they could start. All suggestions by Anthony and Karen were wonderful. My house looks brand new!!! "You get what you pay for.""

"He is a very knowledgeable young man that is self driven to give you the best work he can possibly do for you. He helped me do a bunch of work over the years from sheetrock hanging and finishing, texture ceilings, painting, building porches and new additions to houses, vinyl siding installation, tin roof install, new tile showers he has built and finished for a lot of rich clients of mine, when it comes to carpentry of any kind this man can do it and is not out to break the bank on people like most try to do. He help me redo the whole food stamp office in Paintsville, KY from tearing up old floors to install all new baccara board then porcelain tile, then grouted it all. Painted a lot of the first floor and fixed holes in drywall, installed new toilets and plumbing pipes. He also help to citizens bank of KY in Paintsville doing the bathrooms on the 3 floor in all new tile and painting then helped me do Pikeville KY hospital bathrooms in all new tile and paint and a couple of offices. He has also did the bathrooms at the new school in Martin County KY in top to bottom in tile and even did the new college add on to high school bathrooms in tile. You never have to stand over him and watch to make sure he doing it right. After I hired him a couple times and seen his work id send him to do jobs for me and never once had to double check his work and always had great feedback from my clients I sent him to that he did jobs at. So if you want A+ work at affordable prices id definitely call this man cause I no ill sure be calling him to do things for me still."

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Local building codes don’t specify the number of steps a deck can have before a railing is required, mainly because stair height varies widely. Most areas require decks 30 inches or higher to have a railing. While not exact, that roughly equates to four to seven steps.

It is possible to build your own deck, but it’s typically better to leave the work to a decking professional. Decks can be exceptionally complicated, especially if you want a wrap-around or second-story deck, and you don’t want to risk making an expensive or dangerous mistake. It’s usually better to hire a decking pro who can pull permits and build a structurally sound deck that will last for decades and provide the maximum return on investment.

Composite decking boards aren't your only options for building a deck. There are several other types of materials for decks, including wood and aluminum decking. Wood decking comes in many different wood species, offering natural beauty and classy timelessness to your yard. Aluminum is a lightweight, water-resistant, and low-maintenance material that is also non-slip.

As with patios, there are many types of deck choices to choose from to add personalization to your home. Some common deck options include:

  • Attached decks are anchored to the home and include simple ground-level options or multi-level structures with stairways and separate landings.

  • Detached island decks are not attached to the home; they’re a freestanding structure in the yard.

  • Wraparound decks connect the back of the house with at least one other side and often are built with railings for safety.

  • Multi-level decks connect your deck through varying levels of elevation, featuring landings that are attached to stairs.

Choices include wood, composite, and hardwoods, each with unique benefits.
