Bone Dry Roofing & Masonry - Louisville

We have an old shotgun style home with a fireplace with a chimney that was falling apart. He came out and gave us three estimates, one to fix, one to replace and one to remove. We went with the removal quote because we don't use the fireplace. Once we signed the proposal it took him about 10 days to start the work. He called me and told me when he would be out to do the work, he showed up when he told me and did the job better than we ever anticipated. We had no issues with him, his crew and his professionalism. Already recommended Bonedry Masonry to several of our friends.

Jon Sobral came to our house to give us an estimate on fixing our roof. He was very professional and gave us a really great estimate. Once we signed the proposal I got a call the very next day from Roger Watkins to tell me that he would be doing the work and when he would arrive and what he was going to do. The crew got out here early and started to tear off the roof portion that was to be fixed. I got a call about three hours later telling me that the roof over our portion had collapsed. Luckily no one was hurt but our porch roof was gone, porch lights, brand new grill and plant stands were destroyed. Roger told me that his boss would be out the next day with him to discuss my options. After he gave me my options, I agreed to have them replace the roof. He told me he would be out that Saturday to build the new roof. He showed up around 0630 and began rebuilding with his crew, he was very professional and knowledgeable and he went above and beyond to make our porch look wonderful and he even hung my new lights, new gutters, wrapped exterior beams. It was his attention to details that made our experience with Bone Dry Roofing memorable. We can't say enough great things about Roger and his crew. Thank you so much.

They arrived on time and completed the job when they said they would. My husband and I watched the crew put our roof on. We were amazed at how they worked together. They seemed to anticipate each others needs and provided whatever was needed. The weather was very hot when they were working on our roof. The foreman came by every day to bring ice water to his crew and to check on any needs they might have. We definitely would have them again if we ever need any roof work done.

I am very pleased with the new chimney that was built. It looks great; Jeremy was able to find bricks that matched our front porch to give our house a good, uniform look. He was also very thorough in giving us all the options for rebuilding/tearing down chimneys to fit our desires & our budget.

Once the financing was confirmed, Bone Dry was very prompt with scheduling the jobs. They installed a brand new roof complete with ridge vents that make my attic a whole lot cooler. Combined with the insulation, I can tell that the AC is kicking on less. The only complaint I had was that the crew installing the gutters knocked some vinyl trim off our front porch. During the walkthrough, Roger said that they would fix it in the coming week free of charge. All and all, they did 99% of the job right and are quick to make the last 1% right as well.

The company was easy to work with, keeping us in the loop and working with us at every step along the way.

Jon S. was very informative and answered all of my questions so I knew exactly what to expect. He was able to provide many addresses of houses with the different colored shingles I was looking at. Roger and the crew showed up on time and worked efficiently. Roger quickly took care of a couple of small concerns I had about the roof after the job was completed. Their price was somewhat higher than other companies I talked to, but I decided that I felt most comfortable with them because of their attention to detail and follow through. I was very pleased with their work.

Bone dry roofing was able to determine the cause of my leak. Tell my why the 2 previous companies were u successful. Informed me as to how the repairs were made. They followed up after a heavy rain to insure their work was successful

Overall, it went well. They responded quickly, quoted on the spot and showed up on time. A qualified supervisor was on-site the entire time and the crew performed the work in a prompt and professional manner using professional equipment. They cleaned up their mess completely. It was a relatively small job and retrofitting bricks is difficult to match the brick color and mortar...its hard to tell now which ones were replaced unless you look very closely. The waterproofing was applied and does a good job initially of repelling water. Now we need to let some time pass to see if their method solves our problem. I highly recommend their work.

It literally took months for the salesman to come out and then send an adjustor who was to work with our insurance company and finally get the work started. We made it VERY CLEAR we would only be assuming the deductible from our insurance. We also made it VERY CLEAR we would have an independent contractor review the contract and inspect the work on completion. The salesman NEVER told us that this company has 3 separate divisions who would be billing us separately. Bills started coming up immediately. The problem is none of the bills received reconciled with our spreadsheet. We asked but NEVER recived a detail of individual charges. The bills simply didn't recocile. We contacted the company several times and finally reached the general manager, Louie. This man submitted to my husband handwritten, scrawled notes on a blank piece of paper. The letter he e-mailed us was so illogical, so filled with poor English and grammatical errors, you couldn't make sense of it. It was also filled with allegations, unfounded, against the insurance company we have dealt with for more than 30 years with no problems. My husband, who by the way is an auditor, finally reached Louie and they discussed the billing issues. The insurance company claims manager suggested we get an independent contractor, who had no vested interest in this project, to inspect the work. The result of that inspection are 2 real issues, customers need to be aware of: 1).There is a problem with the shingles which may invalidate the warranty 2) There is a major problem with the wrap around applied to the windows It was the contrractor's opinion that, as a result of these problems, the job was not supervised. We, my husband and I and the insurance company are awaiting this detailed report. We will not settle this account until we have had a conference call withe Bone Dry Roofing, the insurance company and us on receipt of the independent company's report. The company submitted a statement of COMPLETION OF WORK CERTIFICATE to the insurance company which we never signed. A roof is a major investment. If you use this company be aware of their dubious billing practices and poor accounting system. And buyer beware; have an independent contractor review their work. I would not recommend this company to anyone and have talked to several people who need their roof replaced and advised them NOT to use this company In more than 40 years of contracting major work on our homes, this is only the 2nd problem we have ever had with any contractor. Be aware that their accounting system is a mess and you should be prepared to deal with all kinds of problems. We have kept documentation of Mr. Leger's (the general manager) communication in a PDF file for review. I will update this complaint and share with you later when this is resolved

The installer showed up on time and with all the materials needed to do the job. The crew divided so that they could start the front and back of the house simultaneously. They were quick and thorough. Although they had indicated they would need three days to complete the work, they finished in two.

Expensive but thorough. Hard working crew. Joe & Jeremy very nice and professional.... Very obliging.

Wind storm had ripped shingles of roof. Called 3 different roofers for estimate. Just happen to have a friend from out of town come to visit who has spent 40 years in the roofing business. He was there when Bone Dry showed up and spent two hours questioning the salesman, Jon. He then called the single manufacturer and asked their opinion of Bone Dry. He found out Bone Dry was considered a 5 star roofer which allow them to offer us a 50 year warranty on the 30 year shingles we had chosen. My friend felt confident Bone Dry "new what they were doing". With that recommendation, and the 5 star manufacture rating, I elected to hire Bone Dry even though their bid price was well above the other two bids. Spring weather made getting the job finished quickly difficult, but I felt they did an outstanding job. Especially considering the challenges they faced. I also had a gutter guard called gutter glove installed to replace the gutter helmet I had for the last 15 years. I've seen the gutter glove perform during a thunderstorm and would say it far out performs the gutter helmet. It looks much better, too. We had a few minor cleanup issues from shingles hitting the house when the old roof was torn off. They left a series of black asphalt marks. Bone Dry had place sheets of plastic over the EFIS siding to prevent this from happening, but hight winds kept blowing them out of place. Bone Dry is still working on getting those cleaned up and I have confidence they will succeed. I would definitely recommend them, and will use them again, if necessary.

Everything went very well. Their prices were very competitive. When they scheduled a date to come back and work, they showed up. They were very thorough. When I requested some additional work that was not originally on the quote they came back and did the work without a charge. I would recommend them for future projects.

After all the rain we have been getting in the area, my roof started to leak into my attic which was then leaking in through the vent in my bathroom. It was after hours when I called but I received a response back first thing the next morning. We set up a consultation for later that week. Louie was on time (even a few minutes early), professional and friendly which I appreciated. He was very thorough in explaining what was wrong with my roof and how they would fix it. There was a bit of delay in someone getting back with me to schedule the actual repair but once I contacted them about it, they were very quick to respond and came out the next day to get the repair done. I could tell doing a good job and pleasing the customer is important to them. I would recommend them to anyone and will use them again in the future.

The problem is mostly cosmetic, and would have been more than we wanted to spend - so we decided not to do it. The estimator was friendly and seemed knowledgeable - nothing against the company, just decided against the repair.

Roof job was great, but gutters were a nightmare. The D is for the gutters and downspouts, but the roof was a B+. It took me many months and phone calls to get it taken care. I talked to 10 people in the company to get this problem solved. The gutter guards do not match the gutter color and it was uneven, the downspouts were too high, there were black fingerprints on the downspouts, which had just been installed, the gutter guard was lifting the roof up in the front, the gutters were chipping in some spots, there was metal showing on the downspouts and they also had sharp edges. I never received a warranty paper for the gutter work. The gutters were started in July and not finished until November. Thankfully, the company fixed everything to my satisfaction, but the only thing I wish they would take care of is a warranty paper for the gutters and gutter guards The end result is great, but the process was very stressful. My parents also used this company and had no problems with their roof and gutters. **Stated would I not use them again, but it is actually a maybe, because even though they fixed things to my satisfaction the process was stressful. I would use them for warranty for my products. I would consider using them again if they sent warranty info for gutters, gutter guards and downspouts. I will add further comments if anything changes. If I had no problems with warranty support and receive a paper warranty, I will be a happy customer. Overall, I think that the individuals in the corporate office worked with me after frustration for this project and tried to resolve the issues. However, I really would like to receive a warranty in writing for gutters, downspouts, and gutter guards.

Everything was handled in a professional and efficient manner. The bid that Jon Sobrel supplied was very professional and detailed which gave me confidence that they would do the best job of the three bids that I received. The workers showed up on time and completed the work in a timely manner. The job supervisor, Roger, was able to explain things to me and rectify some concerns I had at the time. As far as I can tell, everything looks very good. They followed through with the discounts that were offered by Angie's List.

They installed the chimney tops as part of the overall new roof. Because it is a different division of the same company, I am writing a separate review. The person I spoke to on the phone was courteous and well-spoken and the job was performed in a timely manner. Of course, I, as a lay person, have no idea how well it was installed or what kind of quality it might be. I do have confidence,however, in the company and assume the work was of the same professional quality as the roof.

Jeremy came out and we talked about what the problem was and he asked if I had time we could do a water test with me inside checking for the water leaks while he was on the ladder with the hose. This way he didn't need to go back to office and get someone to help him. So after checking a few places he finally moved higher up on the ladder and with in minutes here came the water to the inside! Hoping that he found the problem he ended up caulking the area and also on the other end of the house as well. I asked him to send me a bill for his time but he said no charge for this that he was happy that it was hopefully a minor problem. Jeremy said that he would give me a call next week after letting the caulk settle and we could do another water test to see if there were any more problems. He did explain a few things that they would do if this didn't fix it. He was very good at explaining everything and listening to me as I would ask questions. It's hard to find people today that would do what he did in coming out and thou it may of been a minor problem, go out of his way to take care of it and not BS me! Oh he was also running late for our appointment but was courteous enough to call and let me know. Would not hesitate to call them if I run into any problems in the future.

They did a great job! I will use them in the future to seal all the masonry work. They also cleaned up their work quickly, and I was pleased!

We are extremely pleased with the job. Roger, the crew supervisor, was very professional and helpful. The crew did an excellent job of installation and clean-up.
