Bone Dry Roofing & Masonry - Louisville

Everything went well. All supervisory personnel were extremely professional. The job was completed quickly and clean up was done to my satisfaction. No complaints and I have and would continue to recommend Bone Dry Roofing. I was most especially impressed by Phillip Bowman.

I have been a general contractor and real estate developer for many years Bone Dry has been one of the very best subcontractors that I have ever employed. I am literally happy with every aspect of the work that they did for me. They treated my home as well as I would have treated it myself. When they finished, the job was perfect and there was no collateral damage or messes to be cleaned up afterward. Plus, I though their price was so low that I did not bother to get another bid. They were courteous, responsive, professional and a real pleasure to have working on my home. They even found and repaired a problem with my roof. They were happy to do and did not charge extra. In addition, they determined that one of my chimneys was shorter than allowed by code, so once again they fixed it by raising the chimney, and then not charging for the extra. Because the original brick was no longer available they found a way to save it and reuse it. When they did use new brick, they mixed it in with the original in way that it was not noticeable. If I need masonry work in the future, I will definitely hire Bone Dry to do it. They are the best!

Originally, we called Bone Dry Roofing to give us a quote for a complete roof tear off and replacement due to a leak in the bathroom. We had received several estimates from other companies, but Bone Dry was the only firm that said the roof wasn't "that bad". We had other major home repair done this year so were strapped for cash. Bone Dry "bought us" time by repairing the bathroom vents so we can replenish our house fund to replace the roof. Bone Dry will get that project, too. Our roof inspector was very thorough, professional, and provided excellent counsel. Definitely will recommend to friends and neighbors.

The crew on Tuesday was two men who arrived at different times. The first removed the old shingles and felt. When the second man arrived later they both installed the shingles and flashing. Work for two took most of the day and into early evening but they were both very hard working. The crew on Thursday was equally hard working and finished the job by late afternoon. All of the workers were knowledgeable about what they were doing, asked questions of us if they needed do and most of all professional and courteous. The quote had additional charges for any wood that needed to be replaced and neither crew dry to tell me I needed some when I did not. I appreciated their honesty. After both jobs were completed the supervisor came by and ected the work and made sure we were satisfied. At this point, I could not be more pleased, the real test will come after it rains.

Called on Wednesday to make appointment and rep returned my call the same day. An estimator came on Thursday to inspect the roof and gave us a proposal. We accepted that and the crew came out the following Tuesday evening to start the job. they worked till dark then returned the next day to finish the job. They explained the delay saying that the worker's truck carrying the metal bending brake had broken down. the crew were neat and courteous. The worked quickly and left no mess behind. If I have any damage or need a re-roof in the future I will be sure to call Bone Dry again.

The person who came in to do the estimate was polite and explained everything well. They came and met with the insurance adjuster, and the people who came to do the roofing work did a fantastic and efficient job. Clean up was done well, the roof looks great, and it certainly is keeping us dry. They followed up to make sure we were happy with the work and followed up with our insurance to get us more funds. I appreciate that.

Bone Dry roofing and masonry have been fantastic to work with. Since the chimney was leaking and they weren't going to be able to take it down for a couple of weeks, they had someone come out and cover it up with a tarp, in the pouring rain. They did a great job of tearing down the entire chimney and roofing over where the chimney used to be. This was the best option since the chimney has no use. They were very personable and professional. They cleaned everything up when they were done. Roger, the manager, came out and inspected afterwards and even fixed some nail pops for me. I was so impressed with them that I ended up having them replace my front gutters a couple of weeks later.

I contacted Bone Dry sometime around the last part of June because they have done roofing and chimney work for me before and I found out they also do other things, such as window replacement. The transom window in my bath had broken seals and was retaining water between the window panes. Since the window was not a standard size, Bone Dry told me the price would be higher than a standard size. Roger gave me a discount of $125 since I was having them replace my chimney chase at the same time, was a repeat customer and a member of Angie's List. Roger told me the window would be in in about 3 weeks and they would schedule installation. 3 weeks passed and I had not been scheduled but, since I was having some other work done on the house and this was not a critical item, I didn't contact Roger to see what was causing the delay. About the middle of August, Roger called me to schedule installation of the new window. This is where I saw what, I believe, reflects the integrity of the company. Roger didn't try to fabricate a story of why it had been over a month since the estimate. He simply said that they had lost my file and been late in ordering the window. He apologized and scheduled installation right away. Roger came to the house on August 14, 2014 with the installation team. Roger originally thought installation would take about 1 hour. However, when the installer got the old window out, he noticed that the drywall inside the house would not allow the window to slip in. So, he trimmed the drywall, slid the window in and then caulked around the window. It was a clean, neat job. A piece of the siding on the house had to be replaced because the size around the frame of the window was slightly smaller than the original frame. Bone Dry replaced the siding so the outside of the house would be neat and clean. While I was cleaning the new window I noticed 3 marks that I thought were scuff marks but which I could not buff out. I called Roger and told him that I thought there were 3 cuts into the frame vinyl and asked if he would come out and see what he could do. He looked at the marks and determined that they were not cuts but dried caulk. He took WD40 oil and clean the marks up. I felt pretty foolish for thinking that the marks were cuts. But, I learned from Roger that WD40 will clean any vinyl surface really well!!!! Even though it took longer than expected to get the window replaced, I still will use Bone Dry because with every experience, I feel I am dealing with a company that strives to customer satisfaction and holds to standards of integrity.

I was very happy with them. They did an excellent job. They came out. They did a great job. I thought the price was good. They were professional. They were courteous. They were really really good contractors. I was very pleased with them.

These guys are wonderful. They came and gave us an estimate on Wednesday and worked us in to the schedule the following week. As it happened they end up having an opening the Thursday after the estimate. We let them know this was great, but we were leaving to go of town for the weekend and wouldn't be there to pay them when they finished.They said don't worry about that, have a good time and we can complete the inspection and work out a payment time when you get back in town. They did a outstanding job. Besides replacing the flashing and installing it correctly, and the "hump" missing from the bad spot in the roof, you couldn't tell anyone was there. It's hard to even see the area where the shingles were removed to replace a board under them. The lawn and flower beds had ZERO garbage left behind. Gary even stopped by the house on his way home to ask if I had any questions on the repairs and pick up the payment. We are very happy with their work and will use them in the future.

From start to finish, we couldn't be happier with the service received from Bone Dry roofing. I submitted a communication request via Angie's List and a representative contacted me promptly and arranged for an evaluation of my roof, at my convenience. Louie and Philip from Bone Dry arrived one evening to look at the roof and determined there was hail damage. They showed me photos of the issues with the roof. Unsure of what insurance would cover, they emailed me two estimates the next day: one for full roof replacement as well as one for bare minimum repairs I would need to get by, if necessary. I arranged for an insurance adjuster to come out and Philip with Bone Dry came out at the same time. Having the adjuster and Philip there at the same time saved both time and potential trouble. The adjuster agreed with the issues found and sent me a statement the next day of what the insurance would cover. Once I knew the amount insurance would cover, we elected to have a new roof installed. Philip and another associate from Bone Dry returned on 7/22 to negotiate the final shingle color, options and price. The next day, I received a call to schedule the installation and was offered a date as early as Friday, just two days away! We gladly accepted. On the day of installation, I received a call around 7:00 am that the crew were on the way. Once they arrived, they wasted no time getting to work. It was a large crew and by around 2:30 that afternoon we had a beautiful, brand new roof! They called or emailed exactly as promised, we were never kept waiting. We couldn't be happier with the entire process.

They did a good job. They also patched up my ceiling. There was an issue with the ceiling, but they came back and fixed it without charging me anything extra. They were pretty good. They came in and did the job. They didn't interrupt me in any way.

I used them based on the reviews on Angie’s List. The craftsmanship was good and the cost was competitive. They were easy to get a hold of and prompt whenever they were supposed to come.

They were timely. They worked quickly and were there when they were supposed to be. They handled everything with my insurance company. They did an excellent and cleaned up after themselves.

Jeremy was an excellent professional with evaluation and explanations of the problem and the needed repairs. The masonry crew was efficient, kept a neat workspace, competent, and collaborative as a team. Very pleased with their services.

I used this company about 5 years ago to fix leaks which had baffled two other contractors, and to replace some gutters and downspouts. They did an excellent job then and I wrote them a good review. Then I got amnesia(kidding). I hired a contractor to remodel my decrepit back porch. In the process, he had to remove two trees. One of the branches punched a hole in one end of the roof, and the other end began leaking because of improperly installed satellite dishes. The original contractor thought plywood, tar, and caulk was an appropriate repair. I called Bone Dry to give me an estimate on a proper repair. Gary came the next day, didn't make fun of me for originally hiring an idiot for the porch remodel, and gave me a reasonable estimate with an expected 7-10 day window for the repair. He actually gave me several options for repair and/or replacement of the roof. I opted for the replacement. To my surprise and delight, the repair was scheduled for 5 days after the estimate. The repair person was friendly, professional, and very hardworking on one of the hottest days of the summer so far. He cleaned up completely and went over my yard at least twice checking with a magnet for nails. The roof looks good, there are no more leaks, and I am very pleased. The final cost was a bit more than the estimate because of rotten wood that had to be replaced, but I had been told this was a strong probability., I am very pleased with the work done on my home. Bone Dry is professional, prompt, does excellent work, and stands behind their work. The older I get, the more important good customer service is to me. I have used Bone Dry Roofing and Masonry over the past couple years for roofing repairs. I have always been pleased with the quality of work. When I had my chimney inspected, the technician pointed out that the chase was rusted and corroded and posed a risk of leaking during a heavy rain. I contacted Bone Dry, not realizing that they also do chimney repair. The estimator cam out within a couple days and confirmed the condition of the chase. He showed me pictures of significant rust and corrosion.I decided to go with Bone Dry, even though they were higher than another estimate I received, because the product they installed was stainless steel and I've always felt confident of Bone Dry's professionalism and integrity. The new chase and rain cap look so much better and, I believe, will last a long time. The old chase was a tray-type chase which looked like it held water in it. The new stainless tell chase has a small dome shape so that water will not collect. I am very pleased. I used Bone Dry's coupon for Angie's List for the work.

They did the work quickly, it just took a while to actually get a hold of them to schedule them coming out.

Overall, the finished product is excellent. In the process of doing the work, the workers drove 2" nails through open soffets, damaging the painted wood surface that is visible. After the job was done, they came back, grinded the nail tips, and puttied and painted the damaged wood. No harm, no foul. Our only lasting gripe was too much debris left over that we cleaned up. Probably 10 lbs. of old shingle pieces were found.

Bone Dry was punctual, replaced the roof in one day and did not leave behind one bit of material. Very pleased!

During an inspection of the house, which was under a home sales contract, an insurance agent determined that the purchaser could not secure insurance on the house because the roof shingles were curling. We explained to the purchaser's real estate agent that the roof was less than 2 years old, still under warranty, and should not be experiencing problems. When the issue could not be resolved by showing documentation proving the age of the roof and warranty on it, we asked for a meeting of all parties to discuss the situation. The meeting included Middletown Roofing Company, the roofing company that had installed the roof 1 1/2 years ago, and a representative of ITO, the shingles manufacturer. ITO explained that the curling of the shingles was due to excessive heat buildup on the roof. Middletown Roofing agreed and explained that their warranty, which was still in effect, did not cover shingle problems. ITo could not determine if their warranty would cover the shingles until an analysis of the shingles was conducted. A sample of the shingles was provided for that purpose. As of April 28, 2014, which is after closing of the purchase, we have not heard from ITO concerning results of the analysis. Since the house was under a sales contract and closing was expected within a couple weeks, we decided to get a second opinion from Bone Dry Roofing because of previous positive experience with the company. Louie Ledger from Bone Dry came out to the house and conducted a thorough inspection of the roof. He determined that the roof was inadequately ventilated and not up to ventilation standards. Whereas the purchaser's insurance company was saying that the entire roof needed to be replaced, Mr. Ledger determined that the shingles were not excessively curled and the problem could be resolved by installing proper roof ventilation, which included removal of box vents and a fan vent, which did not comply with roofing standards. Ridge vents were installed along ridges and an edge vent installed all around the roof edge to provide air intake into the roof (the house does not have soffit for installation of soffit vents). Bone Dry performed the work in one day, replacing shingles as necessary. As a result of the work done by Bone Dry, the sales contract was closed and the new owner pleased with the look of the roof and the warranty provided by Bone Dry.

They were here bright and early as they said, covered all around the house with tarps, they were finished by 1:00 in the time they said they would be finished, they cleaned up the area well.
